Just spoke to the sweetest CM....DH & I are booked for a standard King at WL in September!!
I mentioned to her that I'm gluten free & although I really wont need it, she put in the system to have the room "medically" cleaned prior to us checking in. That's pretty cool!!!

You will love WL...it's my son's favorite resort. We love the theme, the landscape, the restaurants, the pool....can't say enough positive things about the resort. Hope you have a fabulous trip!

I don't fully understand. Please, someone explain, how is your gluton allergy have anything to do with the room being "medically-cleaned". It isn't as if you are going to lick the tables right?

Yes- I would imagine the room being "medically" cleaned is more meant for someone with a peanut allergy....But it was a nice gesture, and I couldnt say no.
Hey, maybe someone was playing with flour or playdoh in the room before me...then I would really want it cleaned ceiling to floor.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm also gluten-intolerant, and other than a kitchen (with lots of flour that can get into nooks and crannies), I cannot imagine needed a special "medical" cleaning.

Honestly, I'd probably refuse it - the chemicals used for this cleaning, are probably more potentially harmful than the risk of gluten in a hotel room!

I leave in 48 days and too am staying at WL. I have always wanted to but CR always called my name. I am so waiting for the waiting to be over. Hope u looove it.

Yeah, but now that you have "medically cleaned" attached to your reservation notes you're stuck in the room that they've prepared for you. so if you don't like the location or whatever they're not going to move you until the next day (when they can again prepare a medically clean room).
so, while it's nice that they offered it to you, I think it's one of those things I would have declined unless absolutely needed. I'd be afraid of being stuck in a crappy room

Congratulations! I think you will love WL! We have stayed there twice and while we're staying at the Poly for our April trip, I'm feeling a little wistful that I won't be at WL. Enjoy your trip. :cloud9:

As for the room being medically cleaned, the CM is the one who suggested it, not the OP, and I don't think it's a big deal. :confused3

We stayed at WL Feb 5-12 and there were peanuts on the floor and in one of the drawers! I was shocked to find them in plain view (and some in the door area) when I walked into my daughter's room (we traveled with my 22 mo. old grandson so it was upsetting to find these)

I'm definitely more excited about this trip then DH! It took me a while to get him to say yes to going before we have kids - but he'll be happy that i convinced him. The only thing he asked for is that we go to Universal, so we'll be doing that for 1 day of our trip.
I'm realllly excited about the dining - ive read so many good things about the chefs & restaurants dealing with food allergies. So im going to eat myself silly popcorn::popcorn::

So far I'm thinking possible ADRs at: California Grill, Coral Reef, Crystal Palace, 50s Prime Time, Raglan Road, maybe the Luau @the Polynesian

I've been reading up on MNSSHP & hopefully DH will be interested in some candy & night time fun @ MK!

I was told by a friend who interned at Disney that you really only need 1/2 day at AK & HS...so we'll probably only do that much. But we have a 4 day park hopper ticket, so i thnk the 4th day we'll just bounce around to whatever we liked the best.
When i was in Disney as a kid, we didnt go to Epcot - so this will be my very first time there & I'm super excited about that..And I'm sure DH will love all of the beer!
:thumbsup2
You're going to have to give me a full trip report when you get back! And this time you have to stay super healthy! :)

We stayed at WL Feb 5-12 and I just received (postcard) and completed online the survey. I hope I hear back from WDW in regard to the good and negative issues I addressed. (as an aside, there were questions on dining and I had to reply in writing I did ask about the old refillable mugs that were sold as 'for use during all future visits'- I did see some of the old WL mugs and also some that were not sold that way. Since one of the questions pertained to Roaring Forks, I thought it was a great time to ask!)

Congratulations! we are staying there also in August
My husband also i had to beg to go on our first trip last year and not even 3 weeks after returning home we had another trip booked for this August and with the free dining again which he loved. I think your husband will have a better time than he thinks he will. I certainly didnt expect to get the response i did from my husband. You will love the dining plan and its so great not having to put your hand in your wallet constantly.

Yes i agree that DHS is not a full day park. I was there only a few hours and had enough. We are going to AK probably only a few hours this trip.
We may even go to Universal or Seaworld for one day before getting to Disney.
