Is bedding changed between guests?

This was posted on another thread in this forum. I find it very disturbing to think I'm sleeping on someone else's dirty sheets. Can anyone confirm or deny this please? It grosses me out. Here's the post in question:

"i can tell you about the rooms being made up. we had a bedbug scare in october at asmovies- wasnt- thank god! however one of the dudes who insepcted the room for us, did tell us linens are swapped out every 4 days. regardless of a newbie in a room or not. so say you check in on day three...yep youre getting someone elses bedding. ick!!!!

The explaination of that statement is when you have checked into a resort during YOUR stay the linens are only changed every 4 days unless you request otherwise. If I remember correctly there is a little card that you can put on the bed that says change the sheets or don't change the sheets.

They do the same type thing with the towels in your bathroom. If you throw them on the floor they will replace them daily, if you hang them from the shower rod or on a towel rod they do not replace them.

All bedding and linens are changed in between guests.

No problem! I would be freaked out if I thought the original statement wash true also. Just have to know how Disney does things.

Once again, ALL reputable hotels change bedding between guests. The CM either misspoke or was pulling the guest's leg.

You might run into that problem in a hostel in a third-world country, but certainly not in any brand-name hotel.

My family always tries to be "green" on vacation and hang up the towels ('cause you don't use a new towel every day at home do ya?) but they almost always replace them with new ones anyway.

I can venture a guess as to why. I clean homes for a living and it takes time to fold a towel, especially to "hotel" fold a towel. When they clean the bathroom, they're trying to make it look first day clean. The washed towels on the cart are pretty much pre-folded and hang-up ready, but the ones you hung have to be folded again. When you're on a schedule and have x number of rooms to clean in y amount of time, it's faster to just throw the dirty towels in the bin and pull out the pre-folded and hang them up.

Do they also change the comforter and blankets between guests? My first job, 18 years ago was cleaning hotel rooms. We never changed the comforter and blankets unless they looked dirty. Sheets were always changed between guests. I think of that every time I sit on a hotels' comforter and when I pull the blanket up to my chin at night.

I thought the Hard Rock at Universal would be a reputable hotel. Well we stayed there and we got into bed and there was sand all on the sheets. They did not change the sheets before we checked in. We called the manager and he apologized and offered us breakfast. He did not seem that concerned and we refused the breakfast. From now on we bring our own sheets and we sleep a whole lot better.

Anybody have any idea how often the mattress pads under the sheets are changed? We recently stayed at Hojo Anaheim for a Disneyland trip and the bed was so incredibly comfortable that I tore all the sheet layers and mattress padding off so I could see the label name of the mattress. Well, the padding was so yellowed and gross, it couldn't have been changed in quite awhile. Wondering how often Disney might change theirs.

The first thing I do at most hotels is to pull off the bedspread and toss it into a corner. Years ago our local news did an expose on hotels and used an infra-red light to see "hidden" stains on the bedspreads - it was scary

I am grateful that more hotels are using comforters with duvets - I think they are more likely to change the duvet cover than to put a new bedspread on every time. Unfortunately, there's no guarantee. Better to pull off the bedspread and call housekeeping to ask for a new clean blanket (or pack a lightweight blanket of your own.) As for bringing my own sheets - that's not going to happen. I'm not stripping beds and remaking them on vacation. But I always pull back the sheets and inspect them before crawling into bed. If I ever thought they hadn't been changed from the previous guest, I'd call housekeeping and have them change the linens.
