Any pins out there not the same as public offers?

I've gotten three pin emails from disney.

Two are the room discount which is already offered to the public I believe and the other is the gift card pin email, which is also already offered to the public.

Are there any pins out there right now that are not the same as public offers?

I am so envious of that pin, wish we could get that lucky. I am happy for you though, just frustrated on my end.

I was just about to ask this question! What is the big deal about getting a pin when there always seems to be a general public discount anyway?

For us, we want to stay at a Deluxe this year. So the % off the room is better than Free Dining (that may or not be available to the general public for our dates). The % off room rates, that are currently available to the general public, are only good until the middle of Aug. Our PIN is good through Dec.

The funny thing about the pubic code vs. the 20/30/40 PIN code is that I ran numbers on our upcoming trip online at 40% off for the Poly, so that I could tell my partner how much money we were going to need. Once we agreed upon the resort, the dining plan, the tickets and such, we called Disney. We had the PIN applied to a trip originally planned for December. They applied the PIN to the August trip and the total price was about $200 cheaper than what I was quoted online with the general public code. This was a total apples to apples comparison too. I was careful to decline the insurance on the trip online, so that wasn't it. I am not griping, but the 20/30/40 PIN gave me a cheaper bottom line for our 7 night stay.

the PIN for the entire year (that I received a month or 2 ago) made me decide to purchase an AP when we were there last week. We got the 30% off Mod so we got the AP. When we were there we got the bounceback rate that was 35% for Mod so we rebooked it. That's a reason for getting PINs for me, also, the PIN usually comes our prior to the GP or even AP codes so you can have a better chance at getting the room/resort you want. We booked the WL for last week (2 woods view) in Oct when we got the 40% pin. The standard room was never avail for that PIN. When the AP rates came out we tried to get the room at that rate 45% off nothing avail in woods or standard so we never were able to get our room type at all so another reason the PIN helped even though it was a little less than the ap and the same as GP codes. (I checked all every day!)

I got a free quick service dining pin for September, but I'm guessing soon enough that will become a public offer as well some time in March. :)

I've been watching all the posts about people being desperate for a PIN. I've seen many of the posters say that they got a PIN and it was 20/30/40. Since that is the same as the public discount until August what is all the excitement?

Is the private PIN on the entire package instead of room only? Also since an extended stay on the public discount gets you 25/35/45% does the private PIN do that also?

I realize that some private Pins get you free QS dining but I'm still trying to get my mind around the frenzy for a PIN when the deal is already there.

A lot of people were hoping for the PIN before they extended the current PIN through the end of the summer. At the time, the % off the room ended the begining of June.
As mentioned earlier, there is a % off room PIN that extends until Dec. Currently there are NO public discounts for the fall/holidays. They may offer some discounts to the public for that timeframe later in the year (or they may not). Those of us who got the PIN were able to book the resort with the discount now. If and when they release discounts to the public, there may not be availability at our resort choice.
As far as the PIN for QS...Free dining isn't already available. They may or may not open it to the public in the spring.
As far as the "private' PIN offering a better discount then the public one...I am not sure. I ran the numbers for our trip and according to my math, I would save $1100 with it. When I called to book, it actually saved me $1700. I have no idea what the bigger savings was compared to my numbers because they won't actually break down the $$ values of the package.

Does the pin say anything about paying the difference for the Regular Dining Plan? I'm so hoping Free Regular Dining Plan will be coming in April again for the Fall. This doesn't seem like a very good deal for those wanting to stay deluxe but would be a good deal for Value stay, but I did notice that it is offered thru 1st of July which is a plus.

The % PIN's I received via email is better than the public one.

Public is 5 nights to get max discount currently ends 8/14, email has no restrictions and goes all year. It has a few blackout dates but really, not much.

You can pay the difference for the upgrade to the DDP. I just did this for our BFF's that are traveling with us over Spring Break!! I got them a $300 refund after the $50 change fee (trip is already paid in full, we're inside our 45 day window)! Unfortunately, we couldn't add it to our ressie, because we are arriving a day BEFORE them, DARN THAT FLIGHT they grabbed on Monday! :rotfl: I did run numbers out of curiousity, and it only would've saved us $170 over our current 30% PIN price... the fam suite at ASMu is killing us!

I was going to come in and post that our BFF's got this PIN as well. I saved them $300 off their package! I just wish we could've used it on ours. :rotfl:

This is the fist FD PIN I've seen for the spring/summer dates. Nice to know that they do come out other than the fall season. ;)

I got the same pin today...free quick service 4 night 5 day stay. We are already booked for 6 nights during the time frame with the Disney Dining Plan. We also recieved the $300.00 gift card.

The pin is for a 4 night stay. Can it be applied to my trip or am I better off sticking with what I already have? We really enjoy the character meals and so I would have to upgrade from the Quick Service Plan. I am thinking this really isn't going to be a better deal? Am I right? :confused3

I got a 30/35/40% PIN...so basically 5% more off than the general public discount.

It is also good through december 31st 2010....the blackout dates are only July2nd-4th, thanksgiving and christmas

We're staying at CBR for the first time in 12 years July 5th-8th...so excited!!!

That must be a different PIN than those sent earlier. Mine through Dec 16 (various blackout times according to the PIN) is 20/30/40. We were at WDW 2 weeks ago and were able to change our Nov/Dec res. to the bounceback rate of 35% off the Mod.
