When you book another cruise while you are onboard, I know that you get a discount and OBC, but do you get a discount on the deposit too? I thought I read somewhere you only have to pay half of the regular deposit amount.

Also, If I end up adding people/more staterooms to the ressie at a later date, does the discount apply to the additions?

Thanks DISers!

You currently get half price deposit while booking on board. It's not a discount actually....the bottom line on your total stateroom cost doesn't change, Disney is just charging you a smaller amount to deposit. But it sure makes a difference when you're booking for a family.

I'm pretty sure when you add people it is still the smaller deposit (I'd wait for somebody who has done that to respond), but people you add later will be paying the CURRENT price (less 10%). Also, if you plan to add children later, you can run the risk of being told you can't. DCL allowes a certain number of children in each age catagory on the ship and once that allotment is full....no more kids that age can book.

Thanks for this information. I was thinking of booking onboard and was confused about whether is was half price deposit or not. Do you know if there is a limit to the number of staterooms you can book? Like if I wanted to book additional rooms for other family members can I do that even if only my BF and I will be on this cruise?

you can make one reservation per person in your current party. Beware - if you are looking to add kids at a later date, you could have a problem as tehy limit the amount of kids per age group.

Right, not really a discount, but makes it a lot more likely that I'd be able to swing a smaller deposit while on vacation! Thanks!

I rebooked while onboard. You do get a 10% discount and OBC depending on the number of nights you booked on the next cruise. I booked in anticipation that my Mother is coming and my oldest DD will room with her(connecting rooms catagory 10). The DCL agent said it is easier to take away from an existing reservation than to add once you leave the ship. So I booked as if my Mother was coming and can always change at a later date and get deposit back. The deposit is 1/2 the current price/per person now and is $125.00 .... so that is a bit of a savings on my pocket book!

I think I will be working till I drop to keep going on VACATION!:rotfl:
