Just a few quick reviews of our dining experiences from this past weekend. All of your reviews really helped me in my planning, so I hope this helps someone
Dining: me, DH and DD (2) and my parents .
Sorry, we didn't take any food pics.
Kona Cafe (dinner):
Our ADR was for 5:20pm. There was a line to check-in and the CM's seemed a bit overwhelmed. We waiting only about 10 minutes before we were seated. We ordered drinks and were served the AMAZING bread. I could have made a meal out of the bread alone. DH and my Dad shared the sticky wings and really enjoyed them. My mom and I shared the Kona Salad which was SO good. DH had a few bites and really liked it too. My mom had the chicken and while she did enjoy it, she said it wasn't what she expected. I just had some sticky rice and veggies (very bland). DD had the kids grilled chicken and baked ziti type pasta. It came with a veggie and a fruit. She devoured the fruit and left the veggies (typical). DH and I liked how they had grilled chicken and not fried. DH and my Dad both ordered from the sushi bar and neither were impressed. They both said thier sushi was mediocre. We ordered Ohana Bread Pudding (AMAZING) and Kona Kone to all share for dessert.
Server was good but she was very busy. Overall though, the service and atmosphere was nice. DH did comment though that he felt like the restaurant was IN the lobby (not just off the lobby)
LTT (bkfst):
We did CP on our first visit with DD and she LOVED the characters and we loved getting into the park early so although we aren't huge breakfast eaters (usually just cereal), we knew we wanted to have a Pre-opening bkfst ADR. Since CP is closed, we went with LTT and were really impressed. The server was excellent even though she was just filling in and normally doesn't work the LTT breakfast. The pastries and orange butter to start were delicious. Then came a platter of eggs and a platter of potaotes topped with ham, bacon and sausage. I am a vegetarian but didn't note it on any ressie cause I am not really picky and would have been fine with just some croissants and the delicious peach french toast casserole (reminded me of bread pudding). Since the potaotes were covered in the meat, DH asked the server to just bring a side of potatoes with no meat. I went to take DD to the restroom and when I came back teh chef had prepared a vegetarian breakfast plate for me. It was SO nice and unexpected. It was delicious. The character interaction was wonderful!!! Would definitly recommend it. Our ADR was for 8:05, we were the first table seated and were out 10 minutes before park opening.
Plaza (dinner):
We originally were just going to go to a CS for dinner but it was freezing out and DD was starting on a cold so the day before I made an ADR for an early dinner. Turns out DD was in the middle of a much needed nap then so we called to cancel it. After she woke up, we were all hungry so I tried to call and see if anyone cancelled thier ADR so we could get in, but they didn't. We went over (we were at our resort while I called, planning to go back to MK for wishes and spectro) anyway and my dad spoke with the CM out front and she was nice enough to get us in. We waited about 30 minutes and during that time they started turning away walk-ups so we were all thankful we were able to get in. Our server was the BEST! He was so effecient and nice. He brought DD over milk and cookies at the end of our meal and overall was just one of the best servers we have ever had-- anywhere. We all ordered sandwichs (grilled cheese, chicken, hamburgers) and either fries, chips and DH had the brocolli slaw. The meal was good and we would eat there again.
WPE (breakfast)
We all just shared an spinach and mushroom omelette with potatoes, breakfast pizza and some foccacia. All were great and DH and I both still thing it is the best CS on property
