ON our way to port now. Can we bring a bottle of wine on board? Thanks so much in advance:goodvibes

Hey we're gonna be on the same cruise! And yes you can carry on a normal size bottle of wine on the ship. Bottles up to 22" wide, 14" wide and 9" deep are allowed. There's a $15 cork fee for the dinning rooms.

Sorry, those dimensions are for carry on bags not the bottle. Of the bottle has to fit in the bag. :)

The corkage fee in the dining rooms is $18 + 15% gratuity. That's what your assistant server is supposed to charge. (There have been some reports on this board of passengers not being charged.)

The fee is not pulling a cork out of the bottle. The corkage fee still applies even if the wine has a screw top, or you bring a corkscrew, or you open the bottle in your stateroom and bring it to the dining room already opened.

By the time you add the corkage fee and automatic tip, it's not worth the trouble to bring your own wine to the dining rooms. The DCL ships have perfectly decent wine lists. You can order wines that pair well with your meals, either by the bottle or by the glass.

There is no corkage fee if you consume the wine in your stateroom. You can ask your host/hostess to bring wine glasses and a corkscrew. (You might want to remember extra services like this when you tip your host/hostess at the end of the cruise.) It can be nice to have a glass in your stateroom before you go out for the show and dinner in the evening.
