My aunt (a travel agent) found this hotel www dot seralagohotel dot com and it's really a good deal. Feedback, please?
she also found the Imperial Swan, Royal Parc, Holiday Villa, Lucaya Village and Comfort Suites Main Gate East.

THanks for the help!!

Check the reviews area- stayed there in December- we thought it was great - very clean- big room- lovely pools/hot tubs. We were in a one bedroom suite with kitchen area.

We stayed there and did not like it. It felt run down to us.:sad2:

I see the reviews area for DIS properties, where is the reviews area for off site hotels?? THanks! :lovestruc

We have a room reserved at Seralago for our upcoming May trip.

There aren't many posts here on the Dis about it but I found quite a few on other travel sites (Travelocity, etc.) and the majority (but not all) were positive.
There will always be some people that don't think a resort measures up to their standards as everyone has different tastes and needs, but it looks like it will suit our needs just fine. :)

The Royale Parc was excellent when we stayed 1 1/2 years ago. It is basically the next stop light after the town of Celebration.

When we were there they were finishing up a renovation. It is a Disney good neighbor hotel and their service was what Disney USED to be...excellent.

We had a 2 bedroom suite. It had a small living room area with a pull out sofa bed (we didn't use it) and a flat screen tv and a dining table. There was also a small kitchenette with a mini frig, hot plate, sink, microwave, plates, dishes, utensils, pots and pans.

There was also a bathroom off of the kitchen that was very spacious.

There were 2 bedrooms that had doors so that they were private. The Master bedroom had a king bed with high thread count sheets, night stands, bureau, closet, flat screen tv and it's own bathroom. All of the bathroom counters were marble and the furnishings were very high end.

The other bedroom had a closet, night stand, dresser, 2 oversized double beds.

We had a ton of room and we really enjoyed the resort. It is now new orleans themed (there was even the fleur de leigh pattern in the carpeting in the room). The breakfast area has a lot of iron work also.

There was a 24 hour gourmet coffee and tea bar (self-serve) in the lobby. The free breakfast included coffee tea, juices, milk, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, waffles, bagels, cereals. They also provided a morning paper in the breakfast area.

In the afternoon each day at the pool bar there was a manager's reception with free beer, wine, or soft drinks. It was nice and only had a few people there each day.

They also have a nice pool and hot tub and towels are provided at the pool.

I found a price that was better than their online price and I called and they were happy to price match and give me a great rate (I think it was about $75). There is a couple dollar 'safe' fee per day, but honestly, you can't beat the accomodations at this hotel.

I really recommend it.

They have a charter bus for transportation to Disney..but we didn't use it so I can't tell you much about it.

Me and my family stayed there in summer 2008 but just for one night. We stayed in one of their family rooms. The room had a king bed. Then for privacy, the kids beds was behind an enclosure like a fort. It had bunk beds and an extra twin. They had their own TV with a nintendo game system. So it was room for 5 people. It was ok. It was ok. It was a little damp and musty but it was the last day of tropical storm Fay and I think everywhere in Florida was damp. Also, we were on the poolview side, so that may have contributed to the dampness. I remember it was less than $60 with taxes and fees included. I do remember thinking I wouldnt want to be there anymore than 1 or 2 nights at the most. But, it was decent and served the purpose for an overnight stay. :)

I know the Comfort Suites Main Gate East get good reviews on the boards. On top this board there is offsite reviews of hotels and resorts. Also you can do a search for each resort to.

We really thought Seralago was quite nice and clean- we found no damp smells, no bugs, it was well equipped and quite large rooms-the pools and hot tubs were really nice and it was a cool night when we were there yet the pool was SO warm. I guess I did not get a picture of the bedroom but it was large with 2 double beds, a small table and 2 chairs- there was also another little table and 2 chairs in the living room so we could all sit and eat. It was not top of the line luxury or anything but we were truly impressed for the price we paid. Now if we had paid......$200 a night or something......no it was not worth that. The only thing really missing was that there was nothing in the cupboards....plates, mugs, bowls etc....so we bought paper/disposable stuff. It was not much of a kitchen with no toaster etc...

They are always having deals. :) The reservation I have for next month is booked at $43/night and that includes taxes and everything. I also recommend becoming a fan of them on Facebook because they announce new specials and have contests for freebies at the resort.

I'll be coming back to post about it after my trip. :)

Thanks...can't wait to hear what it's like there now!:goodvibes

Just booked here for 2 nights this weekend!
I really hope it's nice. I'll let ya'll know!

BTW, I booked the Kid suite/2-nights for $131.00.

Just stayed there for the second time this past weekend. Showed up and had a few hiccups. Television didn't work and had to call front desk. They promptly arrived and replaced it. Then we realized there was no coffee maker. Same maintenance guys showed up and delivered the coffee maker. Both were very polite and had a smile on their faces. Even stuck around to chat for a few. I managed to get this trip for $26 a night on hotwire. It's always nice to do the blind bid.

we have stayed there before and it is fine for the price. Definitely motel...little run down but fine for a couple of nights. There are rental condos much nicer and much closer to disney that are about $75/night for 3 bedrooms with a living room and full kitchen. My kids are teenagers and I dont want to share a bathroom or bedroom with them for more than a night. So we would have to get two rooms anyway.
