Am I crazy, why do you love it sooo much?

I never thought of myself of an obsessive person and I certainly do not have obsessive tendencies...a neat freak maybe, okay yes, definitely a neat freak. What is it about planning a trip to WDW that makes me on the disboards :surfweb: SEVERAL times a day and so looking forward to our next trip...what is it about Walt Disney World that you turn into a gitty 5 year old and cry that first time you see Cinderella in the park? It really is magical. Everyone always asks me why I enjoyed it so much...so I am curious why you all enjoy it so much?

I don't even know where to start!

1. For our family, it's something we all love to do together.
2. Once we get there, it's a low-effort vacation. There's always something to do!
3. I genuinely enjoy the rides/shows/atmosphere.
4. It's the type of vacation where I'm not even tempted to check email or work.
5. WDW does a great job of providing magic. Cross over I-4 and you'll be tragically aware of how unmagical other areas can be.
6. Even after nine trips, there are still new things to discover each time.

Wow, I don't think I could say it any better if I tried. It's just so magical and there is something pleasing to look at every where you turn. It's just beautiful down there. It's kind of like being at home too, you always feel like you just belong there. When I am at Disney World, I don't think about anything else going on in my life. I just focus on my family and have fun.

I don't know, but I'm with you! I booked our trip today and all I could think the whole resyt of the day at work is "I can't wait to post this on the Disboards!" I have travel books that I have read through at least twice each and I learn more each time. I surf these boards like the waves of Hawaii. I dream about it...I cry when I watch the planning DVD...and I cannot wait until October 1st when we take our first family vacation ever and our very first trip to Walt Disney World! (Well, I went as a kid but before Epcot was even built and never stayed on property!!)

disney is just fascinating. the whole place is a well-oiled machine. they've thought of everything!

I am totally with you. I am ALWAYS absorbed with planning our next trip. We go several times a year and we never get enough. I think they are pumping something in the air at the parks to make you come back over and over again.

Ms_missy66 posted a great list! Those are all great things about Disney.

Honestly, I enjoy planning all my leisure trips (to Disney or not.) The anticipation of the trip is sometimes almost as much fun as the trip itself and learning the best things to do, etc. gives me enjoyment before the trip and pays off during the trip, too.

However, I don't find nearly as many online friends to share my excitement with if we're planning a trip to St. Louis, Missouri or something!

We're leaving TOMORROW for our WDW trip! SO excited!

I love it there because while we are there its just about us. Even though we are surrounded by people, we only have to worry about our own family and what we want to do. No phones, no work , no outside commitments. We always go in April and the weather is usually beautiful.

I am the same way & I can't say exactly why. It's just an awesome family time that even when we go on other trips, it's just not the same. I think about it everyday too & I really can't explain why. Maybe they put something in the water there to get you addicted to the place. LOL!

It's not just me!!! I love, love, love all things Disney. Did I happen to mention that I love Disney! I think I've read every travel book every written on Disney and my husband jokes that I could write one on my own. My family goes every year and every year we say...next year maybe we'll go somewhere else for vacation:rotfl2:
It's not just family, it's the lack of all troubles. You truly leave the "real" world behind. All your cares and worries don't seem to follow you there. Disney World truly is the happiest place on earth. My DD, who is 8, has always said she wants to live there when she grows up! I hope she does so I can visit her there!!

Just because! :cloud9: I love the happy atmosphere, the relaxation away from everyday life (until I slide my credit card through for something :rotfl2: )and just being there with other people that enjoy being there!

Coming on the DIS is keeping me in the excitement of planning while anxiously awaiting our flight outta here :thumbsup2

My name is Jen & I am a Disney Junkie!!!!

I am so glad I am not the only "obsessed" person out there! We started planning our next trip today & my husband said he loves my "Disney glow". He told my SIL who is going with us that I have a glow from when we start planning until we get there. I just get so excited. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

My first trip was 3 years ago & I could not understand what all the hype was about until I got there. 5 minutes in Disney & I became hooked! Its just such a happy happy place. Last year we bought into DVC so "now we HAVE to go back year after year after year!" :rotfl2:

Neither me nor my DH are obsessive about anything but when it comes to Disney we can't stop. We are the same way. In fact, our kids are the same way, too. We can not get enough. There is just something about it. It is infectious and it feels good. If somebody hasn't been there or if they don't feel it, you can't explain it to them. They just don't get it. And you know what? That's too bad for them because it feels oh so good. It's an awesome family feeling. We love Disney and we love to spread that love and happiness to others. Come August, we'll be trying to pass the Disney passion on to a couple teenage friends of our sons. Then, in November, we hope to have the grandchildren fully indoctrinated. Yes! It's great!!

WDW truly is a magical place. There's just something about it that is truly unquantifiable. When you're there, your completely immersed in Walt Disney's (and his followers) fantasies. And you can't help but smile. You can't help but feeling like a little kid. You can't help but want to stay for as long as possible. It's completely away from reality, which is waiting for you in the "real world" in which we live.

It's been about 10 months since our last visit to WDW and DH has been planning our next visit practically from the moment we were on I-4, on the 14 hour drive home. We aren't planning on going for about 2 more years (we have 2 autistic children [3 year old twins] and they need to reach certain milestones before we make another large trip). But we can't help but be excited about going there again and watching our children's eyes (and our own) light up with the magic of Walt Disney World.

That's what it is to me, at least.

I think it is because its the magic of Disney. When we are at WDW, there are no worries, no petty problems, no appointments, no meetings, no e-mails, no ... I don't quite check the DIS 5 X a day, but when I do, it's away to remember the fun and think about the fun that will be.
