I am helping a friend plan a Disney trip for this July. The oldest daughter is in a national dance competition at Disney World and they are all going and making a vacation out of it. They asked me for help. We are AP holders and DVC members and visit 2x a year, but we always stay DVC so I am not familiar with offsite options.

They will be driving so transportation is not an issue. The 5 kids are ages 4-12. Besides the parents the maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather will be joining them, so 9 people total. I am thinking a house with pool is their best bet as I don't think a condo would even be big enough for all of them. Any suggestions/recommendations? TIA!

Windsor Hills or Bonnet Creek are the 2 that come to mind first. But there are a ton of other places around too that would be great.

Check out homeaway.com if they want to rent through a private owner.

I always suggest the place we are staying at in Windsor Hills when it is a large family interested. Visit Sunkissed Villas It is a 6 Bed 5 Bath. 2 King size bedrooms, 3 Kids themed rooms(cars, princess, beach theme), and a queen bedroom downstairs perfect for the grandparents. It has a pool, game room(with every gaming console possible for the kids LOL) and very resonably priced. Awesome owners. Hope this helps.

This sounds right---sounds like they need at least four bedrooms, and probably could make use of five. Here's a 5BR home I've stayed in in the past which would work. Great owner communication, excellent location within Windsor Hills, very nicely decorated, and quite affordable:

If that one doesn't work out, there are tons of others. Check VRBO for the 'nearby' communities: Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms, Emerald Island, etc.

That place looks PERFECT for them. Too bad it is booked the week they want to go :sad2:

This one looks nice too....I present that as an option, they are coming in on a Wed so I think they might be limited as a lot of the places are Sat to Sat.

We've stayed at Hilton Tuscany and loved it:cool1:. They have a 3 room home that would be great. Everything you would want and only 10 minutes from Disney. I'd give it a look.

Have Fun.:yay:

Try looking at www.floridasunvacationhomes.com. They definitely have 4-6 bedroom homes with private pools available to rent.

We rented a home in Windsor Hills 2 years ago and highly recommend the location. I would recommend a 5 BR home as that would give everyone plenty of space.

Good luck with your planning.

Wyndham Bonnet Creek actually has a 4BR/4BA unit, but I don't know what the cost would be on it. Other options might include getting more than one unit.

I've stayed in houses a lot in the area, and there are some great options (as already mentioned). Not all require a Sat.-Sat. stay. I will say that if they can get a good deal at WBC, I'd stay there. I fell in love with the place when we stayed there.

It was great watching the fireworks from the balcony, and there are great pools, etc. The location can't be beat (can see Downtown Disney and the Epcot ball - we were in building 5 on the 10th floor).

I can recommend this home, where we stayed in October of 2009.

It is in Emerald Island, and exactly as pictured in the photos. We paid just over $1100 for the week, ALL included...there was no additional taxes, or pool heat charges, which was nice! The home is also listed through All Star vacations, but the charge was considerably more. Before booking, I was a little concerned that the deal was "too good to be true," but I took a chance, and there was no problem at all. The site above is the owner's site. Very easy to deal with. And, when we had a minor problem with the home, All Star was right there in less than an hour to handle the issue. So, we felt like we got the best of both worlds. Great pricing (owner direct), yet great service from a reputable property management company.

It has 6 BRs, and 5.5 baths. 4 of the BRs have king beds, with attached baths.

It is about 7 minutes from Animal Kingdom, and maybe 15=20 from DHS and Epcot, about 35 minutes door to turnstile to Magic Kingdom (because of the need to use the TTC and the monorail). Convenient location.
