Renting Points – DVC Benefits

I am interested in renting points, but I’m curious as to what benefits are available to you as a renter. In particular I am wondering:

• Do you get the same parking pass as regular resort guest?
• Do you get admission to EMH?
• Are you able to purchase the dining plan?

Answers to these or any other info on renter benefits would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Only 48 hours in advance? So you have basically no chance at booking ADR's?
You can add the Dining Plan to a DVC reservation as soon as it's made. You must add it to the reservation at least 48 hours in advance. You pay for the Dining Plan at check in.

As opposed to a reduced rate? Who is getting the reduced price?
She means that DVC members do not ever get "free" dining. But we do not have to pay the peak season pricing for the dining plan either.

The dining plan has nothing to do with when you can make ADRs. Anyone can make ADRs at 180 days. You don't need to have the dining plan, or even a resort reservation, for that matter.

BTW, as a Disney resort guest, you do get the 180 + 10 window....meaning that you can make reservations for the first 10 days of your vacation at the 180 day mark. You would need to provide your reservation number for that.

Thanks for clarifying. I made a bad choice of words.

You can still make your ADR's, whether or not you have added the DDP to the reservation. If you hit the 180 day mark and are not sure if you want the DDP, go ahead and make the ressies anyway.

You can then add the DDP to the reservation later (as others have said, at least 48 hours before your stay).

You would then pay at check in. And, if you add the DDP, make ADR's and then decide you don't want the DDP, you can call the owner (again, at least 48 hours before check in) to cancel it for you and you would still have your ADR's.

I always make our ADR's first. Then, if we get what we want, I can do an accurate analysis if and which dining plan would work best. If I can't get certain ADR's, then I don't worry about adding a DDP. I am usually adding it about a month in advance.
