Don't forget that you'll also have to come up with the $95 "transfer" fee at the time of booking, and, if you make any changes to the cruise (date, stateroom number or category, adding people, etc.), you will be charged another $95 fee. AND, if you are paying cash for persons in your party, you will have to pay for them at the time of booking with MS. Good luck!
You have to pay one full adult on points and the rest can be either points or cash but you must cover each person in total with one or the other. As noted, the cash amount is different than direct and usually more other than short notice. Plus the value per point is usually no more than around $7.50 per point or less, often less. However, one should look at both options and decide what the specifics are in that situation. Remember if you cancel you don't get DVC points back but reservation points that expire at the end of the UY. You have the $95 fee and ANY changes at all require an additional $95 fee.
