BWV Grand Villa question

We're taking a trip next January and our plan is to get a grand villa at BWV.

I know there are two layouts - a one story and a two story.

Can anyone comment on the pro's and con's of each?

My dad uses a scooter but can walk on his own. Stairs can be an issue but we are giving my parents the master suite which I assume is on the first floor in the 2 story unit.

Pictures would be great if anyone has any.

Thanks!

Someone else can confirm, but I believe the 2-story GVs at BWV have an entrance from the hallway on both floors. Might be inconvenient to use the scooter & the elevators to go up and down stairs, though. :teeth:

Also, AFAIK, the Master is indeed on the first floor of the 2 story units.

Hi: I've only stayed in the 1 story GV- There are 2 entrances- the main one in the foyer as well as a door that goes from the outside hall and opens into the small hall by brs 2 & 3. I believe the entire villa would be accessible to the scooter although some of the hall/br entries might be a tight fit.

I don't think there's an entrance on both floors at BWV. The 2nd floor would be on the 6th floor, but there's no 6th floor on the elevator. I imagine there would be some kind of fire exit from the 6th floor. The handicapped GV at BWV is a one story.

I'm not sure if there is only one handicap GV at BWV, but if so we were recently in it. Can't compare to a two story unit, but we really liked being on one floor - although we didn't need it, it was very convenient, and also liked the location.

Thanks for the replies.

Having a handicapped room is not a requirement. My dad is not confined to a wheelchair. He uses a scooter and can't walk long distances but one he gets into the room he can walk on his own.

I was just wondering if their were any pro's and con's to each type of unit. Things like where they are located, what floor they're on, the layout of the 2 story unit vs. the 1 story one.....

Things like that.

Can anyone point out where these units are located using a view from the lake as a reference. I think that the 2 story villas are located on floors 5 and 6 in the section of the building the has the "The Boardwalk" sign.

Thanks!

That's correct - the 2 story GV's are under the Boardwalk sign on 5 (5035, 5037). There are one stories underneath on 3 & 4 (3037, 4037). The other 3 one stories are above the store on 3, 4 & 5 (3047 - HA, 4047, 5047).

There are some pictures on allears (old decor):

Thanks DebbieB

Where are 3047, 4047, 5047 located? Are they corner units that overlook the boat ramp?

I believe they are next to that corner, above the store. The far left of your signature picture.

we stayed in both 2 story GV's in OCT and they only have one entrance on the 5 th fl .
also the bathroom on the 1st fl by the MB is not very private. You need to walk out the MB and cross the hall to get to it. In full view of the dinning room so make sure your decent.:rotfl2:
We really liked this GV's and hope to use them again.

We stayed in 3047, and yes, it was on the corner above the store. We really liked the view and location. Master bedroom was on the corner with two windows, on either side. The rest of the unit had windows and balconies that looked straight onto the water.
