Just returned from 11 day BCV stay 06/16-06/27..UPDATED 04/09/10 -COMPLETE FINALLY !

I was wondering the exact same thing! :scared1: I just read the whole thread (it's so good!) and want to know how it ends!

What happened to the rest of the report??

I was wondering the exact same thing! :scared1: I just read the whole thread (it's so good!) and want to know how it ends!

I am so glad you both liked it so far. I wish I could say that the rest had disappeared or something-- but I promise I am going to write another day worth tomorrow. I knew I should have never stopped writing it because of course one day led to two days and before I knew it months had passed.

Day 8-- Magic Kingdom - And my B-Day !

This morning we wake up and it's my birthday. Even though it seems like we have celebrated everyday- this is the true day. My kids and DH gave me some really nice cards and my son gave me a plush turtle squirt and my DD gave me a plush Minnie -- started off the morning very good :goodvibes

We have a 10:00 o'clock adr at Chef Mickey's. We head to the bus area and wait just a few short minutes to board. We arrive at Magic Kingdom and my DH runs inside to quickly get a fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain. This is becoming a little annoying to me because I want to ride other stuff and him and the kids seem to have two rides on the brain constantly. But oh well -- We have a couple pictures taken while he is getting fastpasses.

I loved the new borders the photopass provided this year.

Then we are on our way to Chef Mickey's :
This is a buffet that I really like. DH not so much. My kids love it. They have all the breakfast favorites plus a huge desert bar - in case you want to start the day off with a rice krispie treat !

Chef Mickey stops by :

And Goofy:
disneyworld2009031.jpg

During the meal they announce a celebration and everyone stands up and waves their napkins.
Yet another breakfast morning muffin/cupcake is brought out :

disneyworld2009036.jpg

After breakfast we take the monorail back over to Magic Kingdom and I get in line at Guest Services to recieve my free 75.00 gift card. I wait about 15 minutes in line - not to bad. While I am waiting in line there is this lady at one of the windows completly losing her mind. She is telling the CM at the window how her son's 5th birthday was the day before and Disney had ruined it for him. Apparently they were at Hollywood Studios - they had a multi-day pass,so they wanted to recieve a gift card. She was telling the CM that at Hollywood Studios they had asked for a driver lincense- at this point she starts yelling -"Do you know any 5 year olds that drive?" I was standing in line just giggling at the stupidity and thinking man this lady needs THE Dis Board LOL! Anyway long story short she then says that all the manager at Hollywood Studios was able to offer her without proof of date of birth was fastpasses- so she took them. Then she got inside and realized her son wasn't tall enough to ride any of the rides,so now a day later here she is at the Magic Kingdom losing her mind. She then even threw in that no-one had even told them they had to get a birthday button to have her son recognized. I take a deep breath and I am called forward ! I hope they pay these CM's well -- I could not believe the stupidity. So I turn in my paper I filled out at home, get my gift card, another b-day button and I am on my way to celebrate my magical b-day. The mad lady is now screaming for a manager-- and I run before I say something !

Just as we enter the park -- The celebrate parade is rolling out -- Just like it was meant to be...
I have told my DH at least twice do not even ask me what the heck they are singing because once you start singing it - you will not stop--

disneyworld2009037.jpg

disneyworld2009038.jpg

disneyworld2009041.jpg

disneyworld2009043.jpg

As soon as the parade passes DH runs to get another fastpass for Thunder Mountain - 2 fastpasses in his pocket now.

We then ride jungle cruise for the first time this trip - wait was about 30 minutes. Then we went on Pirates of the Carribean again.
After a couple rides it is so hot, we decide to do some shopping. I really want to buy my self a hoodie - and since it's 100 degrees I am sure everyone in the store thinks I have lost my mind as I continue to try on coats :)

At 3:00 we head back over to the Plaza for our lunch adr and eat almost the exact same thing we did a couple days ago.

magickingdom6-19-09014.jpg

After another really good lunch at The Plaza we head into Tomorrowland. My son keeps begging about the Speedway. So we wait 20 minutes and ride the cars. My son actually did way better this trip - not as much whip-lash this time.

It is now time to head back to the Castle for the Bibbitti Bobbitti Boutique-- this will be DD first time there.....

As we begin our walk for the Castle DH runs off to get another fastpass (#3) for Big Thunder. I have told him no Splash Mountain today because I do not want to be wet and my DD will have her hair done at the point the fastpasses can be used.

Day 8 cont'd

When we arrive at the castle we are taken inside by a hostess and we are seated in a little waiting area inside. Because I have brought my DD Jasmine costume with us we are taken to a small little dressing room area for her to change. Then we return to the seating area. There are two young fairy godmothers in training who play a trivia game with the little ones while we wait. I end up having almost all the answers -- and everytime the question is a harder one--they look to me for the answer.

disneyworld2009067.jpg

The Package that I have decided to do is 54.00 and includes DD getting her choice of hair-do,make-up and nails painted.

After about 15 short minutes Princess Alexis is called to be tended to.

She is introduced to her Fairy godmother in training and begins to start to make all her beauty choices. I decided I would let her chose everything but I am secretly praying that she doesn't pick the hot pink hair extensions.
disneyworld2009069.jpg

She choses the Disney Diva - with extensions that are very close to her own hair color (thank goodness :lmao:) and she picks pink polish and a couple Mickey Rhinestone Bobbi Pins. All very good choices. And the transformation begins.

The before:
Image0694.jpg

The brushing and Dippity Doop begin, also another FGIT comes to help with the polish and make-up.

Image0710.jpg

Image0712.jpg

Once the process is well under way they call all the dads to the front of the salon. The Fairygodmother explains that in order for the dad's to help their little girls- they must first learn how to do the princess wave themselves, so they can then pass the knowledge on. It is hysterical watching some of these clueless dad's :rotfl: At the end they all get sprinkled with Pixie Dust and recieve a certificate.
Image0716.jpg

Image0718.jpg

After this is done, DD is getting the finishing touches and is ready for the big reveal.

Image0724.jpg

The whole time everything is being done DD can't see what is happening. So when the big turn of the chair happens, they have a photopass photographer standing right there to catch the moment.

Image0730.jpg

She doesn't even look like the same little girl --

Image0735.jpg

After a couple more twirls in a mirror we walk out of the BBB - very happy. I was very skeptical about a 54.00 dollar non-haircut make-over. But it was one of the best experiences ever. Plus, when we leave they give DD a pink gift bag that has two combs, extra faces gems, two bottles of nail polish and a little paper that shows all the hair choices with the one she chose circled. Oh,yeah plus the make-up.

Just as we exit into the outer hall of the Castle- it starts raining. And I don't mean drizzling, it is coming down hard. Of course my DH puts on a poncho and runs for a fastpass (he is hard-core). Fastpass #4 for Big Thunder- I guess I know where I will be spending my birthday evening. :sad2:

We wait for almost 45 minutes and finally the rain stops. Good thing too because I don't think one more person could have squeezed into the castle.
We head down main street to Exp.Hall so we can get DD pictures taken inside.
I had pre-purchased the photopass cd - so we wanted to make sure we ended up with plenty of photos.

Image0741.jpg

Image0748.jpg

Image0760.jpg

From this moment on everywhere we go people are looking and telling DD how beautiful she is... and boy does she eat it up. I don't think we passed a mirror or window reflection for the next three days that she didn't check her hair in

After the photo shoot we head to the Monorail. Our dinner adr is for The 1900 Park Fare Cinderella Happily Ever After Dinner.

When we arrive we have our picture taken in front of a castle mural on the wall. Later during the dinner they try to sell this to us for around 30.00 but I did not care for the picture so we passed.
We are then given a pager and wonder around taking pictures of DD everywhere. She thinks she is a Queen at this point-- because princess just isn't enough to describe her !

disneyworld2009163.jpg

disneyworld2009166.jpg

Our pager goes off and we head back to be seated.

cont'd

cont'd We are taken in and seated just under an air-conditioner vent. At first I think this feels great but by the end of dinner I am shivering :scared1:
The food here at 1900 Park Fare is by far the best. But I seem to be struggling with my breathing and don't feel really hungry. I have some mashed potatoes and green beans plus a roll and get a small piece of the prime rib. I pick at it a bit while the Characters came around.

First comes Anastasia :

disneyworld2009176.jpg

She poses for some pictures and tells the kids to behave so her mother doesn't get mad. Then she walks over to this other table where for some reason this boy of about 9 years old screams at the top of his lungs. She then screams a nails on chalkboard scream back at him. This continues through out the dinner to the point that I am ready to lose my mind.

Next Drisella comes by:
disneyworld2009183.jpg

She is a hoot. She asked my son what the heck is in his hair. My DD quickly replies that it is pixie dust. She tells my DS that there is no way it is pixie dust because if it was he would be flying and he is NOT flying. So she tells him that he must have Tinker Snot in his hair instead. That was hysterical.

Next the Wicked Step Mother came by: She gave a couple stearn looks but didn't say much.
disneyworld2009173.jpg

Then the music is raised up and The Royal Prince and Princess are announced. Cinderella and the Prince dance the Waltz and then begin making their way around the room.

disneyworld2009170.jpg

disneyworld2009174.jpg

Just as dinner is about to end they do a dance for all the people celebrating. And this masterpiece is brought to me at our table.

disneyworld2009186.jpg

Chocolate Heaven ! My DH scored huge points for this -- I was so HAPPY !

Coming Up Next we Head back to Magic Kingdom for Magic Hours !

Cont'd

So after dinner it is time to go back to Magic Kingdom and burn off four fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain. When we exit the monorail back into the heat I immediatly feel my airway begin to close. I use my inhaler - dang this thing is getting low....
We head to Thunder Mountain Railroad. And all the sudden everything seems like an uphill struggle. We ride immediatly and exit, my crew starts to take off running for the entrance of the ride again. I can't keep up, but I am scared to tell my DH that I am starting to panic inside. I ask them to please ride it without me once and let me catch my breath. I sit on one of the rocks outside and try to relax. I use my inhaler again and Holy crap it is empty. I begin to really freak out, I am thinking that we still have 3 park days left and I am never going to make it.
My family returns and my DS says he is really worried about me. I try to reassure him that I will be okay. They go ahead and ride all the fastpasses out. I text my DH that I have slowly started to walk to the front of the park because I have to get back to the room to use my nebulizer.
I don't make it very far, they catch up with me. My DH takes me into the first -aid station and I am taken to a room that looks just like a doctors office. I am light headed and I am in amazement that Disney never misses a step. Paramedics are called and are there in minutes. They begin giving me an updraft of albuterol. My son and DH plus DD (asleep in stroller) are in the lobby. I ask the CM that brought me back to please reassure my son and hubby that I am okay.
The paramedics then let me know that my pulse oxygen rate is still way to low and they need to start an iv of steroids. But once they start an iv they could not release me back into the care of my hubby until a doc had checked me out. This meant my birthday was going to be completed with a ride out of the Magic Kingdom in an ambulance. But I knew this would be the only way to talk to a doctor and get a prescription for a new inhaler and antibiotics that I obviously needed at this point.
So I send my DH,DS and DD back to the beach club and I take a magic carpet ride !! As the ambulance pulls up to the hospital, I realize I have no idea where I am at lol ! We enter the building and I see balloons and a big sign-- Celebration Hospital -- this is almost comical.
Long story short here I am seen by the doc, x-rays are done, another breathing treatment. I am given a prescription for an antibiotic and an inhaler out of the hospital pharmacy. I text my DH to let him know I am okay and not to worry. He says he was really scared and he is so happy that I have gotten help. This really scared me too. I text my DH--- You just had an asthma attack, recieved two breathing treatments, one iv with solumedrol. What will you do next ? I AM GOING TO DISNEYWORLD ! He said he laughed forever because at that point he knew I had lost my mind.:lmao: I then fell asleep until about 6 am.
To wrap up this segment, let me say that Disney really does take care of everything. After my discharge from the hospital a cab was waiting outside to take me right back to the Beach Club. The cab driver was very friendly and told me all about the town of Celebration. Something I never even knew about. When I arrived back at The Beach Club I was reimbursed for the cab, when I asked why I was getting the money back? The friendly CM said that when you are there they provide all transportation. This was crazy to me. I gave her my prescription and was told that it would be faxed immediatly to Turner pharmacy and it would be at the desk with in hours.
I went up to the room and collapsed in the comfortable bed.....

Day 9--- Room Service Breakfast :thumbsup2

First - let me say I am happy to see your TR is back in action!
Secondly - :scared1:wow what a scary story about your medical crisis at the MK. Thank goodness Disney was so responsive to your situation and got you the help you needed. As a mom, I can appreciate how we push ourselves for our children sometimes, ignoring our own health trying to make things great for them. I am so glad all turned out ok in the end, but your DH must have been pretty scared.

Thanks BigEeyore for your kind words about my TR. I am happy to report that my DH has been smoke free for 3 months now :woohoo: He decided to go with the patch and he wore step number one for about a week. Then he got tired of putting the patches on and just stopped. Now he is going to the gym at night because at first he struggled with bordem and the munchies. His quitting smoking has helped my breathing more than I think he ever expected. And it is also nice to not kiss an ashtray :lmao:

Day 9 -- I am feeling Fine :goodvibes

So this morning we are starting out a little slower. We all sleep in until about 10:30 and man did we all need it. When I wake up I call down to room service to see if they will still be able to bring us breakfast and how many credits it will run us. We have the deluxe dining so we have all table service credits. The nice lady CM that answered the phone said it would only cost us 4 credits for breakfast and it included grat. Sounded good to me -- so we ordered the Family Style Breakfast. When asked if we wanted tea or coffee? I said neither, please. About three minutes after placing the order the phone rang. A very nice english sounding gentleman was calling back and asking about our drinking preferences. I told him that we didn't drink coffee or tea, just diet soda. He asked if we were going to a park today? I said yep, and he said okay I have the perfect idea. He then said he wanted to make sure we got something in place of the hot drinks so that we got our money's worth. How thoughtful of him.
My DH cleared all our stuff off of the coffee table and then round table in the room and I proceeded to get in the shower. About 20 minutes later there is a knock on the door and the breakfast is here ! We were brought Mickey Waffles,Pancakes, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and a HUGE fruit bowl. Plus orange juice and diet sodas. In place of our hot drink he had brought 4 large bottled waters for us to take with us to the park. Very nice indeed. The gentleman who came to our room brought an extra small bowl and a can of whip cream, he made a design in the bowl with the whip cream and then instructed my kids to dip the strawberries. They loved it.
When he first arrived he spread a white linen table cloth over the coffee table and laid out a HUGE spread of food. Looked like enough for 8 people. He then talked with my family, asking us how we were enjoying our stay. He told us that he had been a butler for a family for 30 years before coming to work at The Beach Club. He then went on to tell my DD how he had served breakfast to Miley Cyrus at this hotel many times. She loved that. All the food was great and this was something we would do again in a minute.

After breakfast we relaxed. At about 1:00 we left the room to head over to Hollywood Studios. We get on the boat and begin our 12 minute journey.

disneyworld2009190.jpg

Once we are inside my DH runs to go get fastpasses for Rock n Roller Coaster - I tell him to use all tickets to get passes but him and my son will be the only ones riding it. I am no where near ready for that kind of shock to my system.

We then head to do Muppets 3-D before lunch.

disneyworld2009220.jpg

disneyworld2009222.jpg

I love this movie and we are able to sit up very close to the orchestra of pequins.

Then it is time for us to head to the 50's prime time for lunch. This is our first time and I am very excited. I have to warn DD that they will be joking alot but not to take anything serious- she can be a little touchy about rules and eating veggies :sad2:
We are seated almost immediatly at a table that has a tv.

disneyworld2009201.jpg

We are then greeted by our cousin Mike. He tells the kids that the house rules are no elbows on the table and no fighting. He then puts napkins and silverware in the middle of the table and tells the kids to get to work setting the table or they won't get any drinks.
Cousin Mike returns with our drinks and we take a few family photos.

disneyworld2009203.jpg

disneyworld2009213.jpg

disneyworld2009214.jpg

We all order chicken noodle soup for our appetizer. When Mike brings back our soup he sees that our drinks are already gone. He takes the empty cups and shakes his head in disapproval at DH and I. A couple minutes later he returns with 3 diet sodas for both of us (6 total)--- he throws a pile of straws in the middle of the table and says "Here you go, You darn Camels !!" My kids laughed so hard.

disneyworld2009205.jpg

The tv was playing footage from the opening day of Disneyland Park.

disneyworld2009208.jpg

disneyworld2009207-1.jpg

disneyworld2009210.jpg

For our entress DH ordered Grandma's Pot Pie, I ordered Cousin Eric's grilled Chicken Sandwich, the kids ordered mac n cheese and nuggets.

disneyworld2009211.jpg

When Cousin Mike came back to clear all of our dishes he handed my DH a map of the park and said you are going to need this later trust me. My DH looked puzzled and opened up the map -- inside Cousin Mike had taken a sharpie and circled all the restroom locations through out the park..At the top he had wrote -- Bed Wetters Helper !! It was hysterical-- I don't know the last time we laughed so much.
Then Cousin Mike comes back to take our desert order. My DH says Oh I don't even think I could fit desert, I barely finished my meal. Cousin Mike says --" Look maybe if you wouldn't have sucked down so much pop you would have room!" -- now pick a desert :lmao:
We used these neat view finders to look at the desert menu..

disneyworld2009212.jpg

disneyworld2009215.jpg

When Cousin Mike returned he sat DH's desert in front of him... it was the chicken pot pie he had not finsihed covered with whip cream, candy mickey's and sprinkles. My DH looked mortified... Cousin Mike said -- "You didn't really think you were going to get desert without finishing your meal did you?"

Here is DH pretending to eat it....

disneyworld2009216.jpg

Before bringing out the real deserts Cousin Mike stands on a chair and announces that it is Cousin Donna's B-Day and everyone needs to stop what they are doing and get ready to sing to cousin Donna. They begin to sing and everytime it comes to my name he screams COUSIN DONNA ! Then he takes a card out of his apron and says-- "I know you are all cheap- so I bought a card sign it." He then put it down on a table of cousins- and they passed it through the whole dining room -- When I got it back it was filled with birthday wishes from every guest in our section of the dining room. Hysterical !

The real deserts were Smore's and a Brownie Sundae :

disneyworld2009218.jpg

disneyworld2009219.jpg

This is one resturant I can not wait to go back to. Good food and even a better time ! Cousin Mike was GREAT !!

What a hilarious story! Great meal! We are going to try eating there for dinner in January for the first time. I hope we get a "cousin" like yours!

I am bumping this thread for those of use who are going to BCV in 2010. It just makes me feel good to read all the information and see the great pictures!:cool1:

I just started reading this as I am going to BCV in 2010. My daughter was skeptical of the 1900 PF meal but your TR now makes it the most anxiously awaited meal! I look forward to starting at the beginning now and reading the whole way through.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I always find TRs most helpful!

I have now read this whole TR. Very well done! I loved all the pictures! Since we have never stayed at BCV before, it's so nice to see what it will look like. You also seem to eat at a lot of the same restaurants we have chosen for our next trip. It was very nice to read about all of those experiences as well!

Thank you again for sharing!

Thanks for bumping it for me-- it is on my to do list to finish-- Note to self- 11 days is so long for a trip report ! :goodvibes

I am so glad you enjoyed the report. 1900 Park Fare is one of my favorites- as far as buffet food it has the best quality, and those step-sisters are hysterical.

cont' Day 9 Hollywood Studios

After our really good lunch at 50' Prime Time we caught the Backlot Tour.

I really do wish they would add a little something different or switch it up a bit but it is still neat for the kids.

And finally the disaster shoot :

disneyworld2009251.jpg

After the backlot tour we run over to catch the last Light's Motor Action of the day.

disneyworld2009253.jpg

When we arrive there are only seats that are WAY up - which means I am going to have to go up stairs in the 105 degree heat - not happening. A very nice CM talks to my hubby and he explains the asthma issue and she tells us we can sit down in the handicapped section - it was very nice of her.

disneyworld2009223.jpg

After this we are able to walk over and get really good seats for my favorite thing at Hollywood Studios - Beauty and The Beast on stage

disneyworld2009230.jpg

disneyworld2009237.jpg

disneyworld2009240.jpg

The costumes in this production are just hard to even describe. The music is wonderful and the cast is outstanding everytime we see this.

After the show my hubby and my son go to use fasspasses for Rockin' Roller Coaster and my DD and I go see the muppets again.

disneyworld2009255.jpg

We had a really good day at the studios-- got to see a lot of shows and avoided the heat for most of the day :yay:

After this we decide to skip our adr at Hollywood and Vine and take our chances back at the Beach Club for dinner. We had dinner at the Hollywood and Vine on our last trip and we were not impressed, and decided we weren't ready to try it again.

We take the boat back to the Beach Club and end up at Cape May for the Clam Bake Buffet again. This is now DH's favorite. We are sat in a room off to the right of the resturant which was quite and nice. (Also close to the second desert bar lol) Funny thing happens, we end up getting the exact same waitress we had on our hot animal kingdom day. She jokes around with my DH about how he must had loved the Clam Chowder because he is back again !

Once dinner is done we let the kids hit the pool until the 11:00 pm close and then head off to bed.

Tomorrow Day 10- Magic Kingdom

I am glad you enjoyed reading the report. 10 park days, arrival day plus travel day at home put us at 12 days total and I wish we would have had about 2 more days just to lay at the pool !! Unfortunatly, I know my DH and we would have just ended up at the parks another day ! The only advice I can give is pace yourself. Since you are staying at this wonderful resort, make sure you take plenty of time for the pool, and the movie on the beach was awesome. Not to mention being able to see fireworks from Epcot while in the kiddie pool.
I just booked our return trip a few weeks ago and we are doing October this next trip to avoid the heat and hopefully crowds. I am looking forward to planning this trip, it will be our first time at the halloween party and the Food and Wine Festival !

Loved your tr. We are new owners of BCV and will be travelling 10/7 thru 10/17. We are staying (5 of us) in a two bedroom villa and would love some of your expert advice about it. What accomodations did you have? Since there was only four of you, you did not need a two-bedroom. Are there washers and dryers in the units or are they out in the hall area. Any information you can give to us about our upcoming trip would be very helpful. It sounds as if your trip was truly magical. We travel to Disney every October since 2000 and are sorry we didn't buy into DVC BCV sooner. Is the deluxe dining plan worth the $$$, since my two DGDs are not big eaters and love chicken nuggets, fries, mac & cheese, hot dogs, etc.
