Where would you watch wishes from?

Our family wants to find a place to watch wishes from except in the park. We have a couple of older people with us who can't do large crowds very well so we thought we would find someplace else to watch wishes from. We have a car so could we go to one of the resort beaches? Where would you watch wishes from?

You cant beat the observation deck at california grill on top of the contemporary. You'll need to go to he bar though, I think.

We like watching it from Gasparilla Grill at the Grand Floridian - it's also great on the dock, but if you need a bit of shelter in case of cooler weather, it's a great place to watch indoors, and they pipe in the music.

Thanks for the suggestions! I tried to book California Grill, but there is no available. I'm gonna check Gasparilla Grill at the Grand Floridian now. Thanks!

I like watching from the beach at the Poly. You get a very good view of the Castle that way. :)

Gasparilla is a CS restaurant, you can grab a beer, ice cream, sandwich, chips or desserts and enjoy the show. Have fun! We were having a quick bite to eat before heading back to our room on our last night when suddenly - wishes started, it was terrific!

That sounds great and I wouldn't have to make more reservations!

That happened to us on our last trip. We were outside having a late dinner when all of a sudden - there were the fireworks! It was great!

Our favorite place to watch Wishes outside the park in on the ferry to TTC/Magic Kingdom. We wait to get on the boat just before time for them to start and watch them all the way across the lake. We get on at the TTC and ride toward Magic Kingdom. They are beautiful reflecting on the water. When we arrive, we get off and go to the bus stop(ahead of all those watching in the park;))

The Beach at the Polynesian Resort offers a great view
of Wishes and other MK Fireworks shows.
They do "pipe in" the audio of the shows.
There are several ground-level speakers along the
sidewalk.

They also pipe the audio to the speakers at the Poly
pool.

That said, the volume level is so LOW that its nearly
inaudible.
It's been that way for years, and I don't know why.
:confused3

Here's a photo I took from the Poly Beach-
MK Fireworks (MVMCP Christmas Finale)

More Viewing Spots-

You can see them from TTC (they pipe-in the audio from
the show) but you are not allowed to stand in the
Ferry loading area.

You can see them from the boat-dock and an outside
observation deck near Narcoossee's restaurant at the
Grand Floridian. Also from the Patio overlooking the Marina.

At the Contemporary, there is viewing on an outdoor
observation area on the 4th floor.
The California Grill observation areas are reserved for patrons that day of the Grill or Bar.

(Fireworks shown above are simulated.)

At Wilderness Lodge, the "secret place" to watch the MK fireworks if from the northern area of the Cast Member (CM) Parking Lot.

At Fort Wilderness Campgrounds, much of the view is (especially of the "Fantasyland" pyro) is blocked by the now unused Discovery Island in Bay Lake and by the high-rise buildings of the Contemporary Resort.

Here are the angles of the views in the Bay Lake area.

----------------------------------

As for viewing from INSIDE the dining area of restaurants
(you usually need ADRs for most, and they are usually busy during the shows)...
you can see (and hear) them at California Grill at Contemporary,
'Ohana at Poly,
and Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian.

Wow! Thanks for everything everyone! The suggestions are amazing! Thanks ROBO for the maps-just what I needed (very visual person). Getting so excited!

as you walk past the noodle station there are some brown boulders on the left, dont know how better to describe it. if you stake that out you not only get a good view of wishes you also get tinkerbell coming directly over you. look up you will see the cable.

Also, on one of our trips, the water parade was going on at the same time and went by near the ferry so we got to see both parade and fireworks at the same time!!!:thumbsup2
