Connecting Rooms - Question

I was looking at booking 2 rooms at Pop Century and getting 2 gift cards with the new promo but didn't know - are connecting rooms just a request and we could end up far apart, or will they put us in adjoining rooms? Our kids are getting too big to sleep with ( plus they kick like mules) so i thought maybe this was an option instead of air mattresses. Thanks for any help on this and happy holidays to everyone!!

Disney does the best they can... but connecting rooms are just a request. It doesn't matter what your confirmation says or what anyone on here says. We have had this discussion on the boards at least once a week since I joined LMAO. If they don't have connecting rooms, then they simply do not have them. Honestly the only thing that you are guaranteed is a room at a Walt Disney World Resort...

We have even had information about a single parent not getting connecting rooms.

BUT ....everytime I have requested them...we've gotten them...

The last visit...the CM at check in...advised me that connecting rooms were NOT guaranteed....

I merely replied back that...

well - Good Luck to you then.... Our 3 teenagers in a room away from us will be very difficult to discipline.....

The CM found connecting rooms for us VERY QUICKLY after that!

I understand your frustration at not receiving connecting rooms right away. But I don't think any kind of threat, no matter how humorously delivered, is the right way to go. The CM could have just pointed out that the 2 adults in your party were expected to split up, as each room needs an adult over the age of 18 in it. Which is true. Then what would you have done?

Unless you are at WDW during a very busy time, or you're checking in at a late hour, your odds are pretty good with connecting rooms.

Only one trip, when we checked in--no connecting rooms were available--even with early morning check in, and slow time of year...but they did refund us the cost for the 2nd room that we no longer required. (No way we'd put a 12 yr old and 4 yr old in a room down the hall, LOL.)

On our 2nd night, the room connecting to ours became available and we were able to let our kids occupy it the remainder of our trip...

Thanks for the information. I have to admit I was being lazy and didn't check the prior threads before posting, so I didn't know it has been talked about so much. Still don't know what I want to do. Even if they weren't together our kids are old enough it wouldn't be the end of the world, so I may give it a go.
