Jersey Week

When was/is Jersey week?

New Jersey schools have a long weekend the first week of November due to the NJ Education Association 2-day convention. This is also the week of Election Day each year, so it has been dubbed "Jersey Week" since many NJ Families decide to take their kids out of school for a vacation.

I was at the World this past Jersey Week. I didn't really notice any unusually large crowds because of it. I did feel like everytime an audience member was picked to help with a show, that person was always from NJ!!

Some schools are closed the entire week. It's the week with election day so they combine and make a week off I guess.

I was just wondering because I had heard that there was a time called Jersey week and when we were down there the first week in December there seemed to be a lot of people from New Jersey there, so I did not if that was the week or not.

We were there from November 1-7 this year and it had to be then. The Jersey plates on the cars easily had to outnumber any other state. For some reason I like to read the plates as I walk through the parking lots to see how far people are coming from.

With all the negative posts about POP kids and their parents and groups from Brazil, just want everyone to know Jersey people seem to be very well behaved

I was there this past 11/5 to 11/11 and met a lot of people from NJ and NY. They were all really nice and great to chat with!!! As a sidenote we did see the Cake Boss from the TLC show walking with a CM early one morning, he is from NJ as well!!!

LOL Glad to hear that we can't be grouped with the Brazilians and Pop groups. LOL My family was also there from 11/1 - 11/7 and we do live in NJ! The kids were off 3 of the 5 days so we decided to go for it!! Crowds were really do-able and we had a great time! I am hoping we can do it again this coming year.

I saw Buddy and the rest of the Cake Boss crew too! They were filming around the park. I actually made a fool of myself on Main St. by shouting out to him, "Helloooo fellow New Jersian!" They were in the middle of filming... oopsy! LOL I keep looking out for the episode to air so I can see if me or my family make it on TV. LOL

It is always the week of election day. With Schools being closed on Tues. for Election Day and Thurs. + Fri. for teachers convention. Some school districts have started substituting Columbus Day & Veterans Day with the Mon. & Wed. of that week.(closing schools for the entire week) There are always tons of people from NJ in Disney during all, or part of the week. Flights from the area to Central Florida are hard to come by.
The first week in December has also become very popular for us Jerseyans due to the Pop Warner Cheerleading Finals.
