Hi

We are going to Florida in a couple of weeks, and there are going to be 11 of us in total.:scared1:

We have been to Rainforest Cafe at DTD several times, but not to T-Rex.

I would be grateful on peoples reviews, would you recommend it? value for money, how easy is it to get a reservation etc? etc?:confused3

Any advise would be welcome please:worship:

It gets mixed reviews but we all loved it when we went in the summer.
Thanks to Debs recommendation I had the flatbread starter as my main and still had left to go :thumbsup2
I've asked everyone for restaurant requests for next year and this was first on the list :goodvibes

We were there in October and we loved it.

We booked the same time as our ressies so 130 days out I think.

Your are advised to get there 30 mins before your time because you queue up out side and you will wait that long to even tell them you have arrived !!

We really liked the food. The flat bread is awesome and DH struggled to finish his Onion Rings...unheard off !!

The place its self is awesome.DS(9) spent most of the night walking round and taking pictures.

I would recommend asking to sit in the Ice Cave....very cool when the meteor hits.

This will be top of our must do eats from now on.

We found T Rex overpriced, really loud and the service felt impersonal. You can get a MUCH better meal for less money somewhere like Seasons 52 - quite simply superb food! Our 6 year old loved it however.........

My husband and I love T-Rex last summer when we visited. The food was great and we loved the atmosphere. Our son however had a rough time with it. I would not recommend it if you have any small kids in your group. I hope you have a great trip. :goodvibes

We loved T.rex when we went last month, the food was lovely and the service was great :thumbsup2

We also loved T Rex and have been 3 times now :) The Nachos are out of this world :thumbsup2 It is maybe a bit over priced but no more so than Rain Forest Cafe.

The first time we went we were sat in the Ice Cave and after 2 minutes in there 3 out of 4 of us had a headache  The constantly changing lights did not go down well and ever since we have asked not to be seated there.

We went a few days after it opened, only went into the entrance and came out again, the noise was deafening. Food might be good but not my sort of place.

We went in October, and we didnt think much of it. Went at 3pm thinking it would be quiet but it was very LOUD!!! People kept on taking photos and climbing around our table to get gets close to the dinosaurs.

I didnt think much of the animatronic dinosaurs - lets say they are not a patch on the ones in the dinosaur ride.

Service was good, we thought the food was ok - but in terms of the trip it was one of the worst in terms of food quality, I think it was overpriced (as expected).

I very much doubt we would go back to be honest.

We were there in April and enjoyed it. I had read before we went that it was very loud but we were able to hold a conversation quite easily without struggling to be heard. Just walking through the ice cave was bad enough for us and we all agreed we would have hated to be seated there for our meal.

Maybe lunchtimes are a better time to go than dinner times. :confused3

I'm going to have to agree with the PP about the Ice Cave being pretty loud but it's my favorite section in the restaurant to eat in ;) It has it's pros and cons. I was there last week with DBF and a friend and I had requested the ice cave but they were not seating in that section when I got there because they weren't busy. This was last Tuesday at 4:30 and they only had about 30 tables or so out of well over 100 that even had people seated, so they were not busy at all. I still made reservations about a week in advance with no problem. We got a HUGE table for about 8 all to ourselves. It was a little tough to see all that was going on since it was kind of in the corner, but it was nice having all the space and getting to sit in another area that was a bit quieter.

Do I think it is worth it? Yes! The food is always fantastic and the atmosphere is great. I'm 20 and I love it! And my entire family loves it as well. It's a lot more open than Rainforest so you don't feel as cluttered in T-Rex. I say try it! I'm sure you'll like it.

A word of advice...Try the quesadilla appetizer (the T-rexadillas is their name). They're only $10 and the portion is HUGE. I could have eaten it as my entree and still had left-overs!

HOPE THIS HELPS! HAVE A GREAT TIME!

We went this October and loved it! We had pre-booked and got there about 10 minutes before our reservation and had to line up for about 10 minutes, which is my fault as they do recommend 30 minutes before.

We were sat in a red section, no idea what it's called but you walk past the arrival kiosk, little bit forward and slightly the the left. The section next to the ice cave.

We only found it loud when the meteor hits but that's what's supposed to happen! lol The kids loved it and the portions are huge! We could ahve easily shared my meal between us. None of us finished our meals but they were gorgeous.

We also ordered the massive chocolate cake dessert with 4 massive pieces of cake, 4 large scoops of ice cream and dry ice in the middle made to look like a volcano. Anyone who orders this gets a little surprise!

Our server was fantastic throughout and because I ordered a certain drink (two :S lol) I got the funky glasses to take home (instead of taking the used ones back they give you two in their own boxes) and I'm drinking from one now. :D

We didn't finish our dessert so the waiter packed it away for us to take home.

I loved it here and will most likely be dining here again.

Our ressie was 2:30 so not exactly a quiet time either but I honestly didn't have a problem with noise levels even though most tables were filled.

The ice cave was loud though and you have to go through it to go to the loo so I wouldn't like to be seated there really.
