Booking concert tickets

I have never been to a concert (sad I know) - but Leona Lewis announced some dates today and DD said she would like to go.

So I am thinking this would be a nice Xmas present - but have you got any tips on how to get tickets? Will it be easy enough to get them on the internet when they start selling?

We would be looking to go to the Sheffield Arena - I think they said the tickets go on sale on the 27th November. I could go to the box office - but wouldn't want to queue forever!!

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Hi Sam,

To get tickets on-line, you'll need to set up an account with Ticketmaster

It's better to do this now, before you have to log on and buy tickets. Ticketmaster are the biggest seller of tickets for the UK on-line.

On the morning that the tickets go on sale, make sure you're on-line at the start time of ticket sales, usually 9.00am. It'll be very busy around that time to get tickets, but it's one of those things were you need to keep patient and keep trying until you get a selection of tickets.

You can select which arena you'll want to try for and if she's on for more than one evening, make sure you continue to try for both evenings.

Once you get a ticket selection, it will show you were your seats will be, using a picture of the arena lay-out. If you don't like them, you can try again, but there's no guarantee you'll get any others if it's busy, or if you'll get ones which are worse.

If you're happy with the selection it gives you, then proceed to the check out. Here it'll ask you to select your delivery address for the tickets, and how you'd like them posted out. You'll then enter card details and proceed to the check-out....simple...you'll then get a confirmation. Save this to a folder for reference.

And there you have it, you'll be off to see Leona with your DD!

Good Luck :wizard:

If you need any more advice, please ask :)

Just wanted to through in a couple of other tips....

- Check both Ticketmaster and the arena's website as many arena's now have their own booking site as well so at least you have 2 options!
- I generally start refreshing pages at about 8.45am as numerous times tickets have went on sale a couple of mins (ie. no more than 5) earlier than scheduled and it just helps to be on the ball!

The only other thing I'd say is remember if you book online you won't get the tickets posted out until nearer the concert! So I don't know if you'd be happy giving your DD the confirmation e-mail at Christmas, if you really want tickets in your hand on the day then you'd need to go to the Box Office!

I have always phoned the box office for tickets as the operators are usually very good at telling you which seats are the best. But don't faff about thinking about it as I phoned up for the Backstreet Boys and I was dilly dallying about whether they were good seats and literally in about 1 minute these had gone and I was pushed 8 rows back!

Good luck with getting the tickets!

also check what type of bank account you have as you may be able to get money off through them (RBS Royalties 25% off & Natwest have one too not sure wot its called though)xx

Oh yeah another point, what I normally do is I normally have a browser opened with the seating plan on it as well :thumbsup2

I have always used Sheffield arenas own website for tickets.
http://www.sheffieldarena.co.uk/whats-on/leona-lewis/

I sometimes get emails/post telling me I can book tickets day before they go on general sale.

I will only goto a concert or Theatre if I am in 1st few rows so I have to get in early.
Once saw Barney on stage at Sheffield sat near the back, I said never again.
