can you use the pool bars?

I know even if staying on site you can't use the pools that don't belong to your own resort but can you drink at the bars?

Last year we walked through the Wilderness Lodge to the geyser outside but felt creepy walking through the pool area.

I don't think there is a problem looking round hotels, having a drink whilst you are there but I wouldn't want to use the 'pool bars'.
Must admit I set myself high expectations for a drink at the pool bar at Terre Verde villa resort earlier this year, however a 'pool bar' is essentially that and I would imagine a fair percentage of visitors are dressed in 'pool attire'.
I looked rather odd 'dressed to kill' when the others were in t-shirts or swimming gear.

I am not sure there is a real rule that says you cannot, but I am not sure I would want to when there are nicer bars and areas to relax actually inside the resort hotels.

I don't see it as a problem.

In August we went to the AKL as this was the only deluxe we had never visited - we had a wander around and then decided to get a drink. The only bar open during the day is the pool bar. We sat quite happily in our park gear and had a drink - I would say that the majority of people were dressed in normal clothes rather than swimwear. Those swimming, tend to get their drink from the bar and return to their lounger.

You can absoluteley use pool bars, resort shops, in fact WDW want you to do exactly that. They want your money. In fact much of the hotel revenue will be made up by non resort guests visiting and spending money in bars, lounges, shops, arcades and other services like spa treatments, boat rentals and watersports.

WDW want you to spend time in their hotels and spend your money.

I would recommend it

We've been to the pool bar at WL, Poly and GF whilst clothed there were others there too and a few people in swimwear.
As a PP has said Disney want your money

I'd imagine so. Although we had a walk round YC/BC on our way to Beaches n Cream and Stormalong bay now only has one entrance which is always manned by the looks of things, so you may not be able to use their bar.

We once went to Beaches and Cream but there was about an hour or so wait, we asked and they were happy for us to go and get a drink at Hurricane Hanna's - the BC pool bar I think as long as you check you should be ok, remember the CM's name too in case someone questions you.
