Air Canada August Biz class

Anyone used them?
Quite a few dates available next August £1,195pp not a bargain like I got this year but lie flat suites, 3x 32kg allowance per traveller.
If this was from Machester I would probably book but Heathrow and I know nothing about them.

When I'm clicking on this, it says that the MAN to Toronto route is not available on Biz Class.......

Ignore that - i didn't read it properly - when you look at flights from Manchester it includes a trip from Man to Heathow and it's that route which is not Biz Class - the rest is!!! Although, ive just priced Heathrow to MCO at £656 BIz Class !!!! Is this a mistake? This is only one way though!

We flew Air Canada a few years ago when Virgin Atlantic had overbooked. They bumped us up to business class and it was good - really comfy seats, good films etc. Mind you the thing that stuck in my mind was the stewardess giving me 3 big cans of coke when the trolley came round (I was about 14 at the time)

Yes still in Yorkshire.
A normal year I would not consider paying that but it could be a year between trips from this August to next August. Possible short(10/11 night trip at Easter) So this next year with hardly spending anything I could splash out on the right offer.
And you are right it did spoil us, way better than I expected.

Matt thinks I am going mad just now, I have ordered him a new phone, and paying a monthy fee for it, after 15 years and about 50 contracts all on cashback deals with free line rental, free calls and free texts this is 1st I have ever paid for.

Great deal on those flights Wayne, we have things happening that means we cant book up until early next year but for sure if those flights were available when we are ready to book i would grab them. Like you we said we would never pay the difference for buisnesss class but after last years flights we definatley would

I was going to go for these flights but then I remembered that this year BA had an amazing Club World offer for August flights direct to MCO (buy one get one free). I'm keeping my fingers crossed this might come back!! If so, I'll be sooo pleased..

Wayne, have you considered flying down with BMI to LHR, we paid 97.00 each for a return flight in August this year. Also Air Cananda may use BMI as a partner, so may offer a discounted fare. Try giving them a ring and see.

Edit just checked Kayak for you flying out 03/08 and return 24/08, they are 76.00 each. That's 228.00 for the three of you. Bit time you have factored in the fuel to LHR, not too bad, and you haev got some spare cash, as your only going twice next year, so you could afford to treat yourself.

Just had a look, our dates out on 4th Aug land back on 30th Aug, available at £76 each, great price but then its 3 flights each way. If time was running out its something I would do but so far away I will wait for something from Manchester. Probably regret it.

i used to fly Air Canada all the time - i flew to Toronto, then a little wind up toy plane to get to windsor and then drove across the border to detroit (to visit my family - not to get to orlando - we did the orlando bit after visiting the family).

anyway, i lOVED Air Canada when i flew them...i only flew business (they used to call it business-first, maybe they still do)..

the in flight crews were wonderful (the ground crews were really "think inside the box" sort of people - very by the book, but who cares)...
i really enjoyed my flights - and i went with them many many many times...I'm still an air canada frequent flyer but i haven't flown them for many years now (last time was in 2001)....

if you're flying into the US from toronto, crossing passport control is very interesting...
when you arrive into canada, you first cross canadian passport control and customs...then you move over to the US passport control right there in toronto airport ...
you go through US passport control right there in toronto, so when you get to orlando, you arrive as if it's an internal US domestic flight..
assuming they still run it the way .......they used to when i flew into canada.... before 2001 - so that's 8 years ago...a lot may have changed since then...
but it was very convenient that way...i don't know if they still do that..

I flew with them in economy in 2007, they were very good, in fact me and DW thought that it was probably the best quality economy flights we had ever been on. (We have had seven foreign holidays this year so over the years have been on a lot of planes) I had already booked these business class tickets from heathrow the other day, like Wayneg I would have prefered Manchester but was spoilt with the Delta last year. Incidentally I have walked through the Executive first cabin on the 777 london route and it is a far higher standard than the Delta Manchester offering and has the proper lie flat beds And IMHO its also a far better looking product than BA club world too. The 777 on the London route are nice and new and the 320s they use on the Toronto to Orlando route are smart too and even have seat back on demand tv in both business and economy which is rarely seen for 2 or 3 hour flights.
I found it quite amusing as last year when I booked the Airfrance/Delta flights I looked on here and there was Wayneg talking about them and the same is the case this year with these too. Only hope folks are wise enough to book with the actual airline this time as I didnt have anyehere near the communication problems other had last year who booked though which ever booking site they used.
Incidentally and probably most importantly with these flights it is possible to take the very early 8.30am plane from London which arrives at 11.00 am in Toronto and then take the 10.30am flight the following day to Orlando at no extra charge. If you do it this way you can have a day in Toronto rather than waiting for the flight that gets you in to Orlando after 11pm.
If you do it this way you get a free nights hotel up to Canadian $100 stay paid for by Air Canada as the connection is then over 6 hours. There is a choice of nice hotels available. Or you can do what me and DW did which was to choose the most expensive on the list which is the Sheraton Gateway. This is the only one that is actually linked to the airport like the Raddison at Manchester. We had to put an eye watering $8 Canadian to the subsidised price to stay here !!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and to the post above you clear immigration for the US in Toronto so it is a domestic US flight and you can use the full Magical Express baggage service as you dont have to walk you bags through customs in Orlando.

I often fly the LHR-YYZ route.

1) BMI and AC are both part of Star Alliance so you can book a single ticket that would do MAN-LHR(on BMI) LHR-YYZ(on AC). Not sure about a "discount", but it does mean your luggage is checked through (and they have to help you if you miss the connection).

2) The 777 and 763 both have the lie-flat beds. They still sometimes use the 333 on the LHR-YYZ route. These planes do not have lie flat beds. Occasionally, they will switch out equipment, so even if your flight is supposed to be a 777 or 763 you may get a 333.

3) When you come home, you can use the Arrivals lounge at LHR to have some breakfast, grab quick shower, and get your clothes pressed. I use the lounge when I'm connecting to another flight or have to go straight to work in London.

4) As others have stated, you will go through US pre-clearance in Toronto. so your flight into MCO is essentially treated as a domestic flight. Makes things easier once you get to MCO but means that there is more to do during your connection at YYZ (i.e. give yourself plenty of time). You will not need to switch terminals - all Air Canada flights are into/out of terminal 1. You will, however, re-clear security (I think), so be careful about any liquids you may collect post-security at LHR.

I fly AC quite a bit and I've actually rarely had a bad experience, though it is a much maligned air line over here.
