Oh, no problem - it is a common question. Her name is Gillian and as a baby we started calling her Gillibean (like jellybean). Over time that just naturally shortened to Bean

Oh!!! I get it!!! I was stoked when I saw you called her Bean. We call our first born "the bean" because when I first found out I was pregnant everyone kept telling us she was the size of a bean. It turned into a family joke, and now everyone calls her Bean. YAY for Bean nick names!!!

Wow you and Roxy are troopers. I just love teenagers don't you? I am glad that you and Roxy were able to convey to Kris that divide and conquer didn't work. I missed the hidden Mickey in the fireworks.

Yeah, teenagers are fun - very challenging for sure. Yup, we try to always put on a united front. The hidden mickey was the fireworks strobe effect in the last image. Just above the smoke to the right of the fireworks it formed a green mickey head

Oh how cool. THat sounds so neat

What a bummer you were so sick your first day

Yeah, such is life - and the next day is coming up right after this so you will all know how it went. Kris is a good kid, but they live to push boundaries don't they?

Day 2 dawned cloudy but the rain was staying away for the moment. I woke up feeling pretty horrible, but started coughing and couldn't sleep anymore. I got up aroun 9am and grabbed a shower. While I was getting dressed Bean woke up and we both went in search of food.

We decided to make our way to the McDonalds just outside the park for breakfast. Bean was full of energy - dancking down the hall

I decided to head out the doors by the elevators in the Wonder tower, thinking I could take a shortcut to DTD. Unfortunately they were doing some construction and had some of the paths blocked off. So we ended up circling back around the front of the tower. We did stumble across a cute campfire scene, which Bean jumped in on:

We made it to DTD and stopped at the fountain next to the House of Blues. We waited for a while for it to start shooting off but it didn't. We agreed it was a pretty lame fountain ..or at least not very cooperative ;-]

We made it to McDonalds literally right when they were changing the signs from breakfast to lunch ...grrrr. So we ordered some lunch and sat down to eat it. I had a large OJ, which helped my throat. Can't remember what I ate, but Bean had a chicken nugget meal.

When we finished eating we ordered food for the rest of the fam and started walking back. Just inside the secuirty checkpoint I put down the bags to readjust everything and snapped a quick pic of Bean

We then walked to the circle between the parks and I snapped another pic

I grabbed one more shot of her in front of the fountain near World of Disney

We shuffled the rest of the way back and gave the rest of the fam their food. I took some more medicine and crawled into bed. Here's the one and only shot of me for the day:

The rest of the fam ate and got dressed for a day at CA. They headed down and through DTD, Bean and Kris full of it right off the bat

They made it through the gates just before 1:30pm

A CM was collecting info on where they were from

The candy corn theming was very cool on the bridge

A photopass CM was nice enough to take a pic with our camera

They made it in just as Heimlich was ending his speil

They checked out candy corn acres

They decided to head down towards ToT and made their first stop at Muppet Vision

After that they hit Monsters, Inc. They had a lot of fun with the theming in the ride line

More Monsters, Inc. and other fun coming up later :-]

You know, I got so excited about our Beans that I totally forgot to mention the rest of your TR.

I'm lovin' it! I too take A LOT of photos, especially of my kids, so I'm diggin' that you're a picture nut and your kids have SO MUCH personality.

I'm so sorry you were feeling so cruddy. I'll tell ya, if there was one place I WOULDN'T want to be sick, it would be DL. Especially knowing my family was out making memories without me. That's the pits. You look real comfy in the hotel bed, though!!!

Thank you about the picture taking, I certainly stress test the board's picture limit with every post and love getting both the fun Disney rides and sights, along with pics of the fam having fun! My DLR trip from last year was even more out there - over 1,800 pics posted on that one

Yeah, being sick at DLR really stunk, but you're right - it was a very comfy bed to be sick in

Hiya and welcome to my TR! It wasn't much fun, but I was back on my feet the next day

They continue on their journey through the Monsters, Inc. line

Roxy caught one shot from the ride

Back outside they ran into Frozone!

From there it was on to one of Bean's favorites - Tower of Terror!!! They got to ride it 3 times in a row - straight on and again and again without having to go out because of the lack of lines - whoohoo!!! Their last time through the even got their own elevator :-]

They came back out and ran right into Lilo and Stitch.. Lilo said 'hi' to Bean

And then Stitch stole the show, running around like the mad little critter that he is. First he tried to bug Frozone

Then he was running circles with Bean and other kids right on his tail

Bean was fast and finally "caught" him :-D

He 'got away' from her and went for Kyra (I think the hat attracted him)

Both girls were laughing so hard at his antics

Then Lilo swooped back in, and not wanting to be upstaged started signing one of the girl's autograph books upside down!

Bean was protesting that she was doing it wrong, but Lilo was saying that she was smart and sure enough, she had written her name upside down so when you flipped it over it was the right way - lol

She signed the other book and she had been so good that you couldn't tell which one was signed upside down and which one right side up.

Then it was picture time!

From there they saw Dopey and got some pics

The character fun continued, as down the street was Pocahontas

They did some exploring after that and Roxy caught a fantastic pic of the kids looking at the Toy Story Zoetrope

Kris tried to grab the rose

They headed back towards the entrance and caught the Parade - go JackJack!

The rest of the Incredibles had already moved on

Next came the Finding Nemo crew

After that A Bug's Life took the stage

The Toy Story Crew was up next - the Army Men are a kick

The Buzz-ettes were very cute

Hey Slink!

Last up was Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars

After the parade they made their way down to Paradise Pier

Roxy had been texting me off and on throughout the day, keeping me updated on their adventures - she rocks :-]

She grabbed a shot of Mickey's Fun Wheel

And then it was off to Cali Screamin'

By now it was 5:30pm and starting to get a bit more gloomy. There had been little sprinkles of rain here and there, but nothing drastic. Roxy took a shot of ToT

At about that time I finally woke up enough to get out of bed and get online to place the Vons order I had meant to do the day before. I got it all ordered and set a delivery time between 1-3pm the next day.

Meanwhile the fam had strolled up to a picture spot near Grizzly

By now CA was closing and they made their way out. Roxy called and told be they were going to grab some dinner somewhere in DTD. I said okay and ordered myself a chicken sandwitch from room service.

They stopped in to World of Disney

And then made their way down to Wetzel's Pretzels and had pretzels and hot dogs and smoothies for dinner.

Then it was back to DLH, where they stopped to goof around under the hat

They stopped by the pool and Roxy caught a great shot of the pirate ship

The kids wanted to swim and went down after changing, but were bummed that they didn't make it in time to enjoy the water slide. They still had a good time swimming and sitting in the hot tub.

They came back up in time for the start of the fireworks show. This time my hand was a bit more steady for catching the pyrotechnics ;-]

Here's the last of the fireworks to end the day:

After the fireworks it was showers for Roxy and the kids and a long soak for me in the tub to help soothe my throat and clear my sinuses. Fun stuff I know. We all made it to bed somewhere between 10-11pm.

Tomorrow brings us back to Disneyland and Toontown Morning Madness!

It all looks so great Mike. Too bad you and Roxy ended up getting sick. I love the blue streaks in Bean's hair, I wish Kody's had been as good as Bean's are.

And character interaction is great, and you can tell from the pictures that the kids are enjoying themselves so much. That makes the whole experience so much fun.

They had great character interactions. Yes, the Lilo and Stitch interaction seem to be the best for sure. They had a really good time.

Vons/Safeway is something I picked up on the boards. Many people save money on food by placing an order online for groceries and have it delivered to their hotel. Once we had the food we ate most of our breakfasts/lunches from what I ordered.

It all looks so great Mike. Too bad you and Roxy ended up getting sick. I love the blue streaks in Bean's hair, I wish Kody's had been as good as Bean's are.

And character interaction is great, and you can tell from the pictures that the kids are enjoying themselves so much. That makes the whole experience so much fun.

It was a good time. And yes, both girls had just had their hair coloring redone right before going so the colors were very vibrant. Bean actually has purple in her hair though, it is Kyra's hair that is blue

The characters were a lot of fun, wish they had been more in the mood to interact with the characters when I was with them. I think they got their fill on Tuesday

Yes, staying in bed helped A LOT! Thank goodness. They had a good time for sure. Kyra instantly fell in love with all things Skellington and loved wearing that hat.

Frozone is great, as are all of the Incredibles. I had hoped to have an interaction with them, but it was a no go for me. Glad the girls got to see one of them at least.

Ohhh, I'm sure Carla will be jealous of all the Stitch attention the girls got, it was just wonderful the extent of the playfulness he had with them.

I think the Pixar parade is very similar to the one at DHS, many of the same characters.

Yup, made it out the next day.

Nope, didn't ruin the trip, just gave us more little hurdles to overcome. A little Disney magic cand do a lot of healing

I think it's awesome how Stitch and Lilo played with the girls. It seems like the dressed up characters give better interaction at DLR from what I'm hearing. Either way, very cool! You really can tell how much fun the girls are having.

Stitch had them in stitches for sure They had lots of fun and yes, the rest did me a LOT of good. I wasn't back to 100% the next day but I was functional.

The character interactions that I took part in were very good. I had a couple of really great ones during the Trick or Treat party - looking forward to showing the pics and telling everyone about them

Ohhh, you noticed Kyra's gloves - you're the first. She really loves them and the hat. She really lights up when she finds stuff that she likes to wear, it really amps up her personality

The pool was never very crowded, even when it got hot. The kids swam almost every day. It is a pretty cool pool for sure.

Thanks about the fireworks. It was cool being able to see them from the room, and they even had a channel on the TV set to do the audio for it. But nothing compares to being there in front of the castle for the full show
