The cast:

Me – Disney obsessed, Shopaholic & extremely clumsy (more on that later).
Lee (DH) – aka the Mad Hatter….you’ll soon see why.

9th September 2009, Day 2 = aka 09.09.09!!!!

I woke about 7.30am to find Lee sat on the floor in the bathroom reading his book so he didn’t wake me…..Bless him!

We had some cereal, showered and headed to the bus stop to wait for the Epcot bus. It came fairly quickly and we got into Epcot around 10.30am. We took a few photos.....

The obligatory pic of our Leave a Legacy tile…

We then headed over to Soarin with a little look in the shop at the side of Spaceship earth on route. ;)

Soarin was a walk on, we got the front row in the middle section. I love this ride. :goodvibes Afterwards we headed over to Canada and we had a look around the shops.

This is where Lee started to earn his Mad Hatter name. Now I know everyone tries a couple on for fun but just you wait…….

We then headed to France for our 12pm ressie at Chefs de France, we arrived early in the hope we could get out of the heat (it was so hot again today, mid 90’s and very humid). However we had to sit outside and wait as they were not yet open.

We were soon seated at table next to the window, I ordered the french onion soup which I didn’t like but I ordered it to try as it was part of the set menu I chose, (Sorry no photos – I forgot! ) then I had the Macaroni cheese for my main which was so nice and profiteroles for dessert, they had ice cream in the middle instead of cream….so scrummy! Lee opted for a lobster bisque, then half roasted chicken with potatoes and roasted veg, followed by Vanilla Crème Brulee….he loved it all and raved about it all day. :thumbsup2 We used 1 x table service credit each, we paid out of pocket for the lobster bisque + tip.

Whilst we were eating this little fellow paid a visit…..Remy was so sweet and the guy that brings him round is hilarious! (Sorry the pic is blurred but the guy made me laugh as I took it)

We continued around world showcase stopping in Morocco and Japan, after we decided to catch the boat back to future world as time was ticking and I had plans for tonight. ;)

When we got off the boat I wanted to look in the two shops at showcase plaza….I bought lots of goodies and had them shipped to the resort. Whilst I was looking around I think Lee got a bit bored, he came skidding round the corner making screeching and revving sounds, looking like this……….

I just cracked up, along with everyone else nearby :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I can’t take him anywhere!  I told him to behave and put it back…….then he reappeared like this….

IMG_0303.jpg

I think he was insinuating I was being a Grump! I took a piccie and walked off, next thing I know he is standing over the other side of the aisle from where I was, staring at me with this on….. :lmao:

IMG_0302.jpg

I gave up and decided that maybe it was time to leave…..Lee headed back over to put the hat back on the stand as I got there he had decided one last one….. :bride:

IMG_0305.jpg

That was it….I was giggling like a school girl, so we made a quick exit. :rotfl2:

I decided it was payback time so we headed to Club Cool. ;) ;) ;) We have never been in here before but I knew exactly what one I was going to make him drink.

Revenge is sweet……Beverly!

IMG_0309.jpg

As we left we bumped into Chip N Dale….

IMG_0306.jpg

We then headed out of Epcot with a quick detour into Art of Disney (I agreed to leave MouseGear to another day as I am always in there ages). As we walked towards the buses we could see one at our stop so Lee ran to catch it and I hobbled as fast as I could but the driver didn’t mind waiting as there was no one else on the bus. :thumbsup2

We got back to OKW and I rested my ankle for a while, it was looking rather swollen and I had a lot of red patches (prickly heat rash) appearing all over my arms and legs….. I popped on the DIS to say hi and emailed my mum. Lee watched tv.

After an hour or so we got changed and freshened up then headed to Magic Kingdom for a little surprise.....I had manage to book the Wishes Dessert Party which had just been extended.

We arrived at MK about 6.30pm and took lots of pics of the Halloween decorations. WARNING.....!!!!! Photo overload coming up!!!!!

These pumpkins light up when it gets dark, a nice little touch for when you exit the park.

We then headed up Main Street….

We also had a few photopass pics taken….

I dragged Lee into a couple of shops on Main Street, I bought a special limited edition pin which was Chip N Dale with the numbers 999 (todays date was 09.09.09). I also bought a wooden photo frame that we had engraved (you could have whatever message you want put on it, it arrived at OKW about 3 days later). I love it and have now got to decide which photopass pic to get enlarged to go in it. I don’t think you can tell from the photo but all the characters are engraved into the wood, it is so detailed.

Time was getting on so we headed over to the Tomorrowland terrace noodle station, we checked in with the girl at the entrance and she put green wristbands on us then told us to wait in the small queue off to the side. We waited about 10 mins and then we were all let in about 8.05pm, we were taken to our table which was over the far side but to be honest all the tables had a great view of the castle. :)

You are free to go up to the dessert buffet whenever you want, it was like a feeding frenzy at first so we waited 5 minutes until it calmed down a bit. A few people seemed to be out to get their moneys worth!! :scared:

I apologise now as I didn’t go up and take photos of the whole buffet layout but here are photos of our plates…..

Mine:

IMG_0359.jpg

Starting with the cup at the top which was crème brulee, then a chocolate mousse with sponge in the bottom, choccie strawberries, a mango shot – boy was it sharp, and a donut hole. It was very nice.

This is Lee’s second plate….he forgot to take a pic of the first one.

IMG_0369.jpg

At the top is cannelloni (which a sweet puff pastry filled with cream), then a rice krispie treat, at the bottom was a banana cream pie (I tasted it was yum), some chocolate truffles and in the middle was some kind of custard on a pastry base…we can’t remember what it was called. I had a chocolate chip cookie and two truffles as my second plate but we couldn’t eat anymore.

They had a drinks section which was tea, coffee, orange juice, water, apple juice and lemon juice. The desserts were available until about 8.50pm then they cleared it all away before wishes started at 9pm.

At 9pm we were treated to Tinkerbell flying right above us (she must land on top of the noodle station roof). I didn’t get a good picture though just a green blur. Then Wishes began…..

Please excuse the photos, they were taken without a tripod which is essential for non blurred firework pics but it gives you the idea of the distance to the
castle and also just how far away some of them are actually let off from the castle.

You can just see the corner of the roof of the noodle station in this one…

Afterwards we left the park along with everyone else and surprisingly we only had to wait 5 minutes for the bus and even more surprisingly it wasn’t packed so we even managed to keep our seats. We got back to our room about 10.45pm and crashed out.

Coming soon = We change our plans…..Shopping and Raglan Road!

Sounds like a lovely day. I would really love to do the dessert party, maybe it will be on next year when we go

I'm off to the gym now, I'll think about those puddings while i'm there.

Loving your trip report. I love the first photpass picture of the two of you and really like the photo with the "hundreds" of balloons being held ready for sale. As for the wishes dessert party photos - heaven :lmao: and with fireworks - what more could you want :goodvibes

Loved your report and photos, especially the dessert ones! I didn't realise that the noodle station had turned into a buffet as we always used to watch the fireworks from there without eating.

Looking forward to the next day.

Tina

Loved the photos of Lee in the hats and the Halloween photos have got me hoping that the decorations will be out when we go in October 2011.

Lovely photos, Claire. I had to laugh at Lee and his hats. :rotfl:

I'm glad you liked Chefs de France, we are eating lunch there on New Year's Eve.
