Confused?

We have finally bitten the bullet and booked our flights for next August. We have booked Virgin Atlantic flights through Continental and paid £2431 for 3 adults and 1 child. The exact same flights booking direct with VA would have cost some £500 more. Does anybody know why this is the case? I would have thought that VA flights would be cheaper if you booked direct with VA. Incidentally, we priced up a fly/drive with VH on the same dates and that came to over £4100.

my dates are over 100 more pp with continental codeshare with virgin

our dates on a flydrive is £500 more for 2 adults and 2 infants

I don't know why either - but there are 7 of us travelling and we have saved about £800.00 all together by using the codeshare...........

I have used my Continental eTicket number to access the VA My Booking section. I can order meals, but can't book a seat. Does anybody know why?
I have tried booking seats through the Continental site, but it won't save the info.

Within every class of ticket, there are different prices depending on how many seats are available. Sometimes the Virgin cheaper seats go quicker than Continentals, plus the $ rate can also effect the price.

You should be able to choose your seat on the continental web site?

I have just priced up our tickets for next Aug (2 adults and 2 kids) and they were £350 cheaper from Manchester

EvertonCJ we have just booked our flights with Continental too and can't prebook our seats. Did you manage to do it and if so how???

I booked continental flights yesterday also (saved a good £70pp rather than using Virgin - works out when there is 6 people going)

I also cant book any seats - spent at least 20min yesterday thinking I was loosing the plot!!

I called Continental to ask about it but they couldn't book them for me either i suppose we should keep trying and maybe one of us will be lucky

Let me know if you manage to book the seats
