Is it wrong of me to do the happy dance by myself?

We are heading to a 1 bed BCV Dec. 24, 25, 26, 27 before heading further south to see family. My DH is not really a Disney person...he tends to complain about the cost and he's not a big ride fan. My two sons used to be my ride buddies, but the 17 year old now thinks I'm too stupid to live and the 15 year old has never loved Disney as much as his older brother. I have never gone around to the other resorts to see the holiday decorations...or even the resorts themselves! We've always stayed around the Boardwalk...one visit to the Poly when my boys were really little. Here's the "am I wrong" part. I've decided to go down on the 21st BY MYSELF and stay at POFQ for 3 nights before the rest of my family comes on the 24th. I'll wander around all the resorts and just take it all in with no one complaining. Is it wrong to be so happy to ditch your family for a couple of days? I guess I don't really care if it is because...I CAN'T WAIT!!

All I can say is.....You Go Girl :thumbsup2....if my family was like yours, I too would do the same as you. Why not enjoy something that you absolutely love and leave the rest home for a few days. Luckily for me, my DH, DD8 and DD6 are all huge Disneyfanatics and we all do the happy dance together before our trip....Have a wonderful and magical time.

Everyone...thanks for all the:cheer2:! I booked an 8 am (before MK is even open!) breakfast at Crystal Palace for my first full day there...something I could never do with my family. We never get anywhere for rope drop...teenaged boys sleep late. I'll wander around the just feeling the magic. I'm so happy I decided to do this.

What they said....

I do a mix of visits to WDW because no one I know wants to go as often as I do! I did a solo trip September last year and this year I went with my SO off property in February, then again in September at Saratoga Springs. I spent almost all my touring time alone as my SO has a variety of physical and mental handicaps which makes it impossible to spend more than about 3 hours a day in the parks. The only reason he went on the September trip was to ride the new Manta coaster at Sea World, which he did 11 times in one day! I just booked a work/play trip with my BFF/Accountant in December and I know we will have a blast! I'm combining some play time with some serious real estate investment analysis. It's like I just can't get enough and I REALLY need to be a CM!! Seriously. It's my retirement dream and I need to start working on it NOW. I just renewed my AP...:scared1:

The deluxe resorts all have very special decorations. Plan to gather a treat from each one like one of the gingerbread shingles from the Grand Floridian gingerbread house. Oh, and they now serve Dole Whips at the QS restaurant at the Polynesian! Have fun!

Go for it! I think you should do this! I would, too, if I were in that situation but I sure am glad I'm not!!!

YES. I would go off on your own even when they are there! If all they are going to do is complain and tell you you're stupid, WHO NEEDS 'EM??? It's Christmas, time to be HAPPY. Enjoy yourself, my dear. :thumbsup2

I've always wondered what it be like to solo WDW! Go and have a great time! Here's some more happy nanner dancing for you!:banana::banana::banana:

You are so right to do this!!! You will have a fabulous time and don't you dare feel one bit guilty or self-conscious. My sister does this all the time. I made the mistake of letting my ex come with me and the girls back in August. He'd been with me once before right before we were married and was negative. He swore it was just the heat etc. I allowed him to join us this past August for three days and it was horrible. Now I have to go back with the girls in December to wash that memory away ;)

It's nice to do Disney with family but I hate anyone who keeps popping my balloon. Enjoy a nice, big, fat, bright balloon!

:thumbsup2
