lovebugs warning

Just got home today after a very relaxing two weeks at SSR. :thumbsup2 However did notice that the lovebugs were starting to arrive the last 2 days, with the hot humid days starting to ease now it seems they are on the increase.

Anyone going soon just a reminder about Dollars breakdown insurance they will try to push you into, :sad2: or in my case not even ask. Had that removed next day, also the changes to some of the toll booths, where the cash lanes are off on a slip road, so easy to miss and drive straight through and end up with a fine.

At least the gas prices are dropping, $2.40 average on Tuesday

Altogether a great time, went to the DIS meet at the Poly, dissapointed not to meet Netty owing to her car trouble never mind maybe another time. We met up again at MNSSHP for a few minutes for the class photograph.

We had our luggage checked straight through to Newcastle, and they were almost the first cases off the plane.
I am writing this at 11.25pm it may take me some time to get over the jet lag. :surfweb:

Aaah we were stuck in the villa for a few hrs, got another car though! sorry not to have met you, when will you be going again ??? we were dressed as hippies for mnsshp.
wasn't it hot, hot ,hot!! glad you had a great time!!!

Welcome home!! :flower3: It's so good to have a face to go with the name now :D Hope you guys had a great time! We noticed one or two of the dreaded lovebugs, up to their usual, on the last day or two of our holiday as well! And yes, it was definitely hot, with none of those nasty things that begin with 'H' ;)

I guess you never found Netty wondering around the park after the 'family photo', so since you missed it, this is what she looked like -->:hippie:

:rotfl:

Welcome back! It was great to meet you at the Poly last week.
Glad you enjoyed SSR - we loved it when we stayed last year. Even though we only arrived back on Sunday, I've been back at work all week and the warmth of Florida seems a million mikes away.
I think the only cure is to book the next holiday!!

Yes, it is very cold here; I forgot how cold. I go and come home from work in the cold, since I work evenings - sun is starting to set (or gone in the winter) when I got to work; coming home is even colder. Tonight, I wanted hat, gloves and a scarf! Ridiculous.

You're only thinking of booking the next one now? I've been checking the flights for next May since they came out!

I will have to learn to love the lovebugs, especially *when* I move to Florida. When, I tell you, when! It will happen. And I'll get a nice big house so everyone can come say hi while on their WDW trips! :rotfl:

OK have to admit never heard of "lovebugs" :sad2:

What exactly are they and what time of year are they around ?

Lovebugs are small insects that fly around joined together. The female one is the bigger and the male one hangs on behind flying and crawling backward where ever she goes.
They usually appear Sept/Oct and I think May. They can come in their thousands, I remember in 2006 we could not see the colour of the handrail at the boat dock outside the Dolphin for them.
