Done Hoop twice, we love it, great airconned building and my type of food but no characters.
Backyard BBQ not done for 16 years on our 1st trip, 4 adults in our 20's and just went for the drink, great evening but don't remember a lot about it just remember it was a big marquee and very hot.
Spirit of Aloha, we booked to go last month but when we went in May we looked around the venue, decided to do Hoop instead, looked far too hot as its open to the heat. We just prefer to have good aircon when eating and drinking. Considering it again for next August if we do DDP.
Yes Allears is good to give you an idea & also info here on DIS, direct links to each show might be easier for you.

Been to Fantasmic numerous times but never as part of a dining package. We considered it this August but too many other places we wanted to eat, all the HS places got knocked off our list.

Fantasmic is a show in a purpose built arena with water, lights, fireworks, Characters and music. Its about Good overcoming evil, a bit too complex for younger children to understand but most still like to see it. lasts just under half hour.
Sorry what is "HS" places??
Oh sounds quite a dark show, not sure if that keen but will look at your links - thanks
Have done Hoop Dee Doo (2007) DH me and DS's then 11&9. Really not our thing. The food was ok, but the hall was freezing, everyone had napkins wrapped around them. Food was replenished without asking. None of us enjoyed the show, it just wasn't our thing (unusual for us as we are big on West End Musicals). each to their own though!
