I'm planning a trip to Disney Dec 5-11 (first time during this time period). I wanted to go b/c I wanted to see Disney Christmas decoration and go to the party. I'm trying a couple new restaurants and second guessing my ADR's. I upgraded to deluxe since my family likes to have sit down meals. My son lives breakfast food but loves room service. We are staying at CR
My ADR's
Dec 5 - arrival day and dinner at Yachtman Steakhouse (new restaurant and rethinking about this one since its arrival day...maybe room service or eat in the park)

Dec 6th - 1900 Park Fare (we have done this one but might cancel and get room service)
Chefs De France (my husband loves this place)
Crystal Palace
might go to the party...have not yet booked the ticket

Dec 7th Chef Mickey (new been to dinner)
Hollywood and Vine (a must for my son)
California Grill

Dec 8th Tusker House Breakfast buffet (my son and husband loves this place and a must every trip)
Yak & Yeti (new place for the family)
The Wave (new Place for the family)
might go to the Christmas party again

Dec 9th CRT (gone before but my son wants to eat in the castle again so why not)
CP (my husband loves eating lunch here for the salmon but might reschudule...SUGGESTIONS welcomed)
Ohana (new for the family)

Dec 10th Ohana breakfast (a character meal we havent tried yet but I don't really like the food selection but wanted to try for the character but rethinking if its worth the trip or just have room service)
Le Cellier (new for us, I'm wanting to try but hubby does not really care b/c he thinks Epcot has alot of selection of restaurants)
Garden Grill (new and wanting to try this character meal b/c its the only character dinner we have not yet try).
If going to the Christmas party this night will cancel Garden Grill
Dec 11 - Cape May (have done before but its not a must)
Thank you for any suggestions

Well first off... let me say, IMO the Christmas Party is a must... especially if you have never done it! :santa:
I think Ohana is ok for dinner but we LOVE their breakfast.
The Wave is good. It gets mixed reviews but we liked it very much. Don't plan on leaving there stuffed though. I did feel the portions were kind of small.
We did the Garden Grill in July and I must tell you, it wasnt our favorite place. The character interaction was good but the food was just ok. I would do it again, but it isnt one of those "must dos" like Chef Mickeys is for us.
Le Cellier is ok. We used to do it every year then the last time we did it the food and service was horrible. It seems to be one of the more popular restaurants at EPCOT but for us... we prefer Chefs de France.

Here is our list of must dos:

Chef Mickeys (dinner)
Chefs de France
Hoop Dee Doo
50's Prime Time Cafe
1900 Park Fare (dinner)
Ohana (breakfast)
TRex

Have a great trip!

Yes, all the ones I listed are booked but having second thoughts and can't discuss it with the hubby since I have not told him I booked CR yet...I got a really good price but waiting for the right time.

I would say leave them... then when you go... you will be able to talk to him... and cancel the ones you decide not to do. Just to be on the safe side! They are very tough to get now!

Thank you princssdisnygina, I appreciate your suggestions. My husband and I love Chefs De France and he can eat there 2x in one trip. He is not a red meat eater so LeCellier is not on his list to eat. I was on the fence with Garden Grill but I wanted to go to another character meal for my son (worried they will cancel this one like they did LLT, they already cancelled the lunch...you know they seems to downsiz). But if we decide to do another MVMCP it will be DEc 10 and I will cancel Garden Grill. I guess I'm second guessing b/c we love Narcoosee's and did not booked it and my husband loves Jiko and did not book it. I wanted to try new ones for this trip. I might plan another trip for Feb so I should second guess myself. I will leave them alone and be happy. Thank you

I plan my trips out up to a year in advance, but i am constantly second guessing myself and/or changing my mind...now that I am a DVC member I also do this with accomodations - I have even made a spreadsheet comparing all of my options as funny as that may seem...

To offer my 2 cents - I would NOT drop Yachtsman as it turned out to be our favorite meal of our last trip (and I considered dropping it many times)...

However, we will never eat at Yak and Yeti again. I know that some places get mixed reviews so take this as a one off opinion....I'm sure there are people who love it there. For us, the food was very average (bordering on bad) chinese food that we could have picked up from the local supermarket. The only saving grace was the cream cheese filled wontons with pineaple....and that was served lukewarm at best.

You have quite a few of our favorites on your list!!!

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a "must do" for us! The food and service have always been great for us! Its my DD's favorite restaurant - and the creme brulee is our all time favorite!!!

1900 Park Fair - we've never tried this one, but have heard a lot of good things about it. Chefs de France is also one of our favorite Epcot restaurants! I just love the atmosphere in there! Again, food & service have always been great for us! Crystal Palace - we haven't eaten here in a while, but it has always been good for us. What time is your ADR for? I wouldn't go too late if you are going to the party!

Chef Mickeys has always been good for us too, altho we haven't been here recently either. Haven't been to Hollywood & Vine either.
California Grill is excellent - great atmosphere - especially if you can catch the fireworks! Service & food are really good!!!

Haven't tried Tusker House. We've eaten at Yak & Yeti twice, and we really like it a lot! The pot stickers, egg rolls, and the salad are all very good appetizers!!! We haven't tried the Wave yet.

CRT is a favorite too, especially for breakfast! Crystal Palace for lunch is good. We've eaten at Ohana's for dinner 3 or 4 times and haven't been disappointed! Fun atmosphere for the kids!

My DD enjoyed breakfast at Ohana - she loves Stitch! Fun atmosphere for the kids here too! LeCellier is a definite "must do" for us! We've love it - food and service have always been great for us! We haven't done Garden Grill in a while.

We did Cape May for breakfast in June, and the food was really good. Nice selection - and the characters were fun.

If you're looking for some other places for lunch, have you tried Kona Cafe or the Grand Floridian Cafe? We've had many really nice lunches at both of those. We also had a really nice, quiet lunch at Captains Grill at the Yacht Club.

And DDs all time favorite spot to eat - Beaches & Cream! The desserts are oh, so good!!!!

You have a great selection of ADRs - I think you'll be very pleased with your meals! Have a great trip!!

That's a heap of eating!!! Wow. I'm heading down on Nov 29 and made my ADRs on the first day I was able to. If I have two meals in one day, I get concerned that we have to much food....I have Donalds at 10:25 and 50's at 3!!! I thought that was a lot. Good for you guys!!!
But second thoughts??? Heck yeah. In fact, I've made ADRs, then canceled them a week or so later and made new ones. I just made two new ones this morning for that week!!! And yes, I canceled the ones we won't be doing.

You've chosen some very good spots. I've eaten at most of them. I will say that we went back to Garden Grill last month...I had been twice before with my youngest dd, but my eldes dd, 33, had never been. She loved it there..said it was one of her favorite meals at WDW!!!

2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th... change them several times... and then usually end up changing them again a couple of times once we get down there.

We always have certain "must do" places and certain "sure that sounds good, but I won't be heart broken if we don't make it until next time" places. It keeps things low stress. :hippie:

Don't cancel the Yaghtsman for room service. We always go on our first night. It is just a great start to the vacation. It really is a nice kick off. Great service, great food and nice atmosphere. Ask for a table by the window, looking out at the pool, with a great view of the boardwalk. If your sitting in just the right spot you can even see some of the fireworks from Epcot. Another great restaurant if you haven't tried it yet is the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. Really good.....

I'll be in Disney right around the same time (Dec7-Dec 13). I have second guessed every thing over and over. I'm jealous you got Ohana for dinner as I've did not get it on my 90+10 day window and keep trying and nothing! So keep second guessing, I find it kind of fun lol :santa:

Thank you for completely understanding...I can only find it at Disboard b/c when I talk to others they just give me a look (you are on vacation why plan so much and how do you know where you want to eat that day...like my friend who is taking her son for the first time and whats to wing it...I told her if she wants to take him at a character meal that she needs to book it. She said she'll decide that morning if they feel like it...I gave her my advice and that's all I can do)

Thank you, We have tried Grand Floridian Cafe and loved it. I might try Kona Cafe (instead of the CP lunch since we will eat there for dinner On Dec 6th but keeping it for now since my husband loves eating there so I'll play that one by ear and since it lunch time they might take me as a walk in)

My husband, son and I really don't like CS food and we use TS as our down time. My son eats breakfast early like 7 or sometimes early so by lunch time comes he is very hungry. When we ate in buffet, we ate to get full but not stuff. My son does well too with TS when we have taken him to the last 4 trips. We play it by ear also but if he is too tired we cancel our dinner TS and get room service that's why I upgraded to deluxe figure it was worth it.
Thanks for responding:)

I should not stress about it since I can always say I guess we can try it next time, Right.

Thanks, I'll keep it for now until I stress about it again or not (sometimes it more fun stressing about ADR's than real life stress )

My choice was Yatchman or Flying Fish but I chose Yatchman since we never went there and we went to Flying Fish 2 years ago (we like it but for this trip I wanted to try to do new restaurants)
Thanks and I'm glad you like Yatchmans
