FP: DL vs WDW

Based upon some of the threads I have read it seems FP may work differently at DL then it does at WDW.

Last summer at WDW we could not hold more than one FP at a time. We had to wait until after the return time printed on the FP to get one for another ride.

Do they work the same at DL or can you get several one after another?

Thanks,

Martin

Getting a fast pass works the same, you can not get a new fast pass until after the return window passes on your current or 2 hrs (??) which ever is sooner.
What you have read about is the usage of fast passes. It is common at DL that you can use your FP, within the day it was gotten, but beyond the return time window. So, theoretically you could hold 4 or more FP and save them all to use in the evening.
there is a thread around here "making the most out of fast passes" or something like that. I am sure someone will post a link for you. It really spells it out and answere you question more more thourouly then I did/can
But hope I helped somewhat

Bingo! The actual FP system works the same, but at DLR you can usually get more FPs in a day because:
1) The parks open earlier 8AM during the weekends/busier seasons

2) The first FP window starts 45 min after the park opens as opposed to an hour I think it is at WDW. This means you can grab a lot of FPs in the morning if you are efficient.

3) The proximity to the two parks (and their systems are not connected to each other) allows you to get FPs for DCA rides very quickly. Park hopping at WDW takes 40-50 times as much time (literally). That extra time at DLR can be spent collecting FPs.

Just to be clear, you cannot get another FP until the BEGINNING of the return window of the FP you hold or 2 hours, whichever us shorter.

Absolutely used them beyond the window in both parks with no issue. We always collect all morning long and use them in the evening when we go back to the park after some down time.

Wait...you can't collect a FP until 45 minutes after the park opens, or you may collect right away but the first return time isn't until 45 minutes after the park opens?

The later. You may collect a FP right away, but the return window is usually 45 minutes later.

The easiest way to figure out when you can get your next FP is to just look at the bottom of the FP in your hand. IT tells you exactly when you can get another one. :)

(and from what Robo has said on the WDW boards, that hint is the same at WDW as well!)

I think you mean the second FP window. And at WDW in my limited experience this is only at MK. If you go to MK at 9AM opening and get a FP then the next FP window starts at 10AM or 10:05AM. The other three parks worked liked DLR for me - 40-45 minutes later you can get your second FP.

Yes, well it's when the first FP window is good and when you can get your 2nd FP. :)
