I just had a long conversation with the manager as of today this is what is included as a snack credit for the create-your-own treats:

Marshmellows: 1 dip, 1 topping

Pretzel: 1 single pretzel, 1 dip, 1 topping

Gingerbread Cookie: 1 dip, 1 topping

Oreo Cookie: 1 dip only, no topping

Rice Krispie treat: 1 dip only, no topping

She has also mentioned that they may decide not to include any of the create-your-own treats at some point as it is causing too much upset/angry guests. If you decide to use a snack credit, please confirm that it is still included before you place your order.

Wow, they have really cut back. That's too bad, that was one of our favorite things to use snack credits for. If you pay OOP is it still all the toppings one price or do you pay per topping?

This is one of our families FAVOURITE things to do at Disney!!! Guess we will still do it just pay OOP which really stinks!

Thanks for the update though, even though it's not what I wanted to hear!

Yes the toppings are still included if you pay OOP. Apparently, when the cashier rings up the order each item is now needs to be entered individually so the marshmellow & pretzel start at $1.50. When you add dip & topping, it is still under $4.00 making it eligible. The rice krispie treat starts at $3.25 so if you try to add the topping, it puts it over $4.00 and will not go thru as a snack credit.

Thank you Joyce! You rock!

Thanks. I'm just glad I finally got thru. I've been trying to reach them for 3 days. They also explained that they are having problems with the Merlin system (love the name) thoughout the parks so that may explain why some additional items are being rejected.

This cut-back really doesn't surprise me. The make-your-own treats at Goofy's have always been a stellar deal on the DDP. Guess I'll be paying out of pocket from now because I still have to have my oooey-gooey loaded pretzels.

Joyce thank you so much for researching this item. :yay:

now we can put it to bed!

Thank you so much Joyce! It's so nice to have an answer.

I would be surprised to see the current list remain a snack credit, for the exact reason that the manager cited. I hope guests can see it as glass half full (This is better than nothing), rather than looking at "We always..." or "This was taken away" when talking to CMs. If guests do a good job doing that, then maybe the current list will hang around for a while.

I'm always happy to help & I strongly agree, Tricia, or we are going to lose what we have completely.

Thanks for your research and for the update. I'm perfectly happy with being able to get a rice krispie treat just dipped. While it was fun to get the topping & drizzle, it made the concoction way too rich for me. Making the toppings add-ons is a fair way to allow the treats on the DDP. I wonder if you could pay the difference - get the dipped treat on the DDP & then pay OOP for the toppings if you wanted? Might get too complicated.

I was there Monday and they refused to let me use snack credits for ANY MYO products. Also, price is per topping, no longer a free-for-all.

Hi
We were there on Sept 2, so after the changes took place and were able to get the the cookie with dip, one topping and the drizzle for our snack credit so I guess we lucked out:confused3

Gosh, Disney should be consistent! That is partially why people are angry. It seems that it depends on the CM if you get credit for certain things or not! So sorry you were not allowed to use your snack credit for MYO. I hope this does not happen to us in Nov.

Joyce,
Let me add another vote of thanks to you for your research.
I'm sad to see this go but glad OOP is still an option~I'd be sad to see multiple dips completely disappear:scared1:

It was probably due to the problems with their software update.

I was there on Sept 3 and Sept 6. On both days we got MYO treats with dips and toppings using our snack credits. I asked at the cash what was included and she told me that the only exclusions were the pretzels and the apples (no shock on the apple....it was never included anyway).

I paid for my pretzels and the kids got....
gingerbread w/chocolate dip, M&M's and white choc drizzle.
rice kripsie w/choc dip, almonds and white choc drizzle.

My only beef is with all the packaged candy etc. that is priced at $2.95 and is now labled 'for sharing' that you can no longer get for snack credits.

Thanks so much! Hopefully when we go in 6 days it wont have changed, we normally wait until the end of our trip to use up any left over sc there..They make a great snack at home to enjoy our WDW trip memories with..

Just thought I'd add we were there on Sept 8 and were told that only gingerbread cookies and marshmallows were dining plan, but I did get a VERY good marshmallow with chocolate and peanut butter cups!

We were there last week and were able to get 3 marshmallows with dip, topping and choice of drizzle on top or gingerbread cookie with dip, topping and choice of drizzle on top...we were told the fudge cookie wasn't allowable as a snack anymore along with the rice krispie and pretzels.

They seem to be changing daily on what you can and can not get with the snack credits there.

We were really looking forward to the make your own treats but found them to be far too sweet...I threw all 4 of them out the day we left with none of them being more than 1/4 eaten.
