A few things I have noticed that people pay extra for and look good are:

Wishes dessert event.

Dine with Shamu.

Discovery Cove - swim with the dolphins.

What else would you recommend ??

Easter 08 we did All-You-Care-To-Eat Family Picnic at Seaworld, cost us $12.55pp with AP discount, great value and something a bit different. Only problem is finding it on when you go, they rarely do it.

cirque du soliel and blue man group! :) fab evenings out!!!

I second Blue Man Group.

We are off again in October and really looking forward to it.

That sounds nice :goodvibes Have you ever done the dine with Shamu? Was it worth it?

What is blue man group? :goodvibes

They are a group that perform in a purpose built theatre next to Universal Studios. I find it very hard to describe what the show is like - especially as to do so might spoil certain parts of it.
The general story goes that they are new to planet Earth and the show centres around their various reactions to everyday things. The music is astounding - with lots of drums and percussion instruments, a lot of them made and designed by the Blue Man Group. If you search on youtube you may find some short video clips of what they are about.

To be honest if this is your first trip for a few years, I wouldnt do any of the extras as your going to have so much to see and visit you won't have time to see it all!:)

Trouble is, this for us, will be a holiday of a "lifetime", will not be back for many years, if at all.

No never done dine with Shamu, we did one of the tours once which included a buffet lunch at side of the whales. Really enjoyed it but they increased the cost too much for me.

Blue Man Group is one of the best live shows I have ever seen, did it 2 years ago, DS asks every trip if we can go again, maybe next August we will.

Saw La Nouba a few years ago(maybe 5) and didn't enjoy it at all. Saw it again last month and enjoyed this time:confused3

We went for afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian for DH's b'day last month, and it was lovely. Even the kids enjoyed it!
It cost about $125, but it was a special occasion and we had budgeted for it. Afterwards,we found out that we could've done it quite a bit cheaper, because we all ordered, and then DD was last and said she wasn't hungry enough for any of the set menus'. The server just suggested she have some cake, which only cost a couple of dollars!
If we had all just ordered what we wanted as individual items it would've cost alot less, but we read it that the items were available with the set teas, and not as individual items.
Still, at least we know now, and would definitely go back. It was very civilised, and DH was allowed to choose an extra pastry as it was his b'day:) Also, the server presented DD's and I with a beautiful pink rose each,:flower3: which all lasted in the room for nearly the duration of our hol.
