Closest supermarket to disney

Hi really easy question where is the closest supermarket from disney? We are off soon and my nephew will be 2 1/2 and even though ive been plenty of times before ive never been to a supermarket or mall i love disney too much to give up my days shopping elsewhere but we will need to buy nappies, we have no car so will be taxi-ing it. many thanks

The closest one to CBR is Goodings at the Crossroads in Lake Buena Vista. It's not the best supermarket, but if your main priority is to keep the taxi fare to a minimum, I can't think of one closer.

The nearest supermarket is indeed the goodings opposite DTD. It is v expensive and if you need more than nappies it may be worth considering a delivery from gardengrocer or we go shop.
we used wegoshop last year for basics, they delivered on time on arrival day, they were very good, polite helpful and explained any subs they had made. we had sun block, toileteries and water juice, snacks etc delivered to PORS. To the door of the room, i presumed (naively!) we would have to transport them from the recpetion area!
she was very kind, seeing how tired we were she just got on with it, put all the toileteries next to the sink and juice boxes in the fridge!!
it did cost about £15 (vague recollection, you d have to look for a more accurate price) but if saving taxi fares and time is what you re after, consider using we go shop.
ps you only pay what they pat, there is no mark up - again youd have to check again. we did it all buy email - we logged onto an american web based supermarket, shopped then cut and pasted into an email! worked well.

Thanks for the replies, i will have a look at we go shop as that may save us a trip although as my sister is such a worry wort and this is her first trip to florida since she was a teenager she will probably want to check out the selection of nappies on offer to make sure she gets the right ones, cost of taxi not a problem just least time spent away from parks the better and her other half loves sweets so will no doubt spend ages in the sweet aisle if we let him in the supermarket

We walk to Goodings from DTD it's a pleasant walk just be careful at the crossroads getting over the road the timer is very quick. The supermarket itself stocks a great range of products including some of the brands we have at home They also have a really good wines and spirits section and frozen foods and hot food items if you want them. Their baby care section covers just about everything you could want too.
If you need a pharmacy there is on just down the road from the Crossroads area I think it was a Walgreens which also stocked groceries when you get to the junction just turn right and keep walking you will find it close to Wendy's and Chick-a-Fill down from the Marriott village and the Nickelodeon Suites OR drive there. Both are easy areas to find.

Persoanlly I'd avoid Goodings as it is expensive.

If you have a car simply take a left from the Cross roads exit and head down the 535 for about 2 minutes. On the right you will see a huge Walmart.

But be careful - it is possible to enter that store and not come out for hours... with a huge dent in your credit card and a trolley full of bargains!

there is a hess minimarket/gas station across from planet hollywood carpark at DTD, which is meant to be reasonable.

why not take nappies with you. we are taking two big packs with us. that way, you'll have lots of room in your case on the way home for souvenirs.

Goodings certainly do nappies, but they are a bit dearer than usual.

Closer than Walmart would be Publix (or is it Winn-Dixie?), which is a bit further up Vineland-Apopka than Goodings. They are much cheaper, and probably not that much more on the taxi fare.

Coming out of Disney at Crossroads you turn left, and Publix is on the right a couple hundred yards up the road.

Walmart is a good couple of miles down the road to the right at Crossroads - would easily negate savings on nappies with the taxi fare.

I would say Goodings actually has the best sweets section, even though they are expensive. And they have lots of speciality stuff. We always end up there at some point, though we do our main shop at Walmart. I suppose the equivalent here would be Waitrose....

Why don't you take a few nappies with you, enough for a couple of days then visit one of the many Publix's in the area.
There is one for example at the corner of Vineland Road and the 192, and another near Premium Outlets, they always have a good selection.

Garden Grocer I can recommend for deliveries.

Walmart not sure, but wouldn't personally buy food from there.

Thanks for all your help, we will take some nappies with us for at least the first few days and then get a taxi to one of the supermarkets mentioned so far, we havn't visited any of the malls or supermarkets before as we only leave disney to go to a dinner show or universal so don't really know international drive at all but im pretty sure once we get in a supermarket we will all come out with bags mainly filled with chocolate and cookie dough oh and some nappies

Called in Hess DTD on Saturday, thought it would save me a trip to Publix or Walgreens for some diet coke, surprised to find they didn't sell 2L bottles but they did have a deal on 24 cans for $5.50. With tax that equates to 24.5cents or 15p/can slightly more expensive than the $1/2L bottles we paid before the cruise but a bargain for cans and saved me some time trailing to supermarket.
