Flyglobespan Would You Book

Only used them once and it was OK but it was not to Florida, the big plus is that they fly direct from Glasgow

We have used them twice without any problems. Very good. We intend to book tomorrow!!:yay::yay:

I have also used them twice for car hire packages which have also been problem free (Dollar).
My travel agent assures me that they are in no financial difficulty.

To be honest their planes are not the most luxurious but the benefit of the direct flight (Belfast) is my number 1 priority. They are clean and the food has been fine. Service was very good. We were also able to pre-pay for extra luggage which proved beneficial for shopping!!:woohoo:

The flights are well priced at the minute.

Best wishes

we have you used them last 2 years, the flights is fine, but this year
they cancelled our in bound flights so we had to come home day early, we did get notice of this in january, but i would have booked with someone else at time.

then they changed the time of departure of outboard flight from 9.30a,m
till 5.30pm, sucks, but one of our neighbours works for flyglobespan and told
us the flight never leaves on time because it drops of in canada and comes to glasgow empty, always leaving at least 2 hours later, sure enough it did.

Personally wouldn't, although I don't have any particular reason. Being from Glasgow as well it's one of the few options open to us but I just didn't fancy going with them. They got a bad rap a few years ago about safety issues but haven't heard anything in a good while. I also have a friend who's flown with them twice and had no problems :thumbsup2

We used them this year (only been home for 5 days :sad1:) and would fly with them again.

We flew out August 3rd and returned August 23rd and both flights took off within 30 minutes of their due time and made up the delayed time en-route.

The entertainment on board is dated with no individual TVs or games consoles but for me this is not a problem as I tend to sleep. The food is typical airline food - I order the vegetarian pasta and it was edible at best.

I have looked at prices for next summer with Globespan and am tempted to book for 19th August - 3rd September as it is a direct flight and coming out at £1780 for the four of us which I think is quite reasonable. My only concern is our schools are due to return on the 1st September 2010 but am sure they will throw in a few training days.

We looked at their prices for next August, they are very good, but I have to say we are not going to book with them, I have heard too many horror stories. Having said that we have not flown with them so that judgement may be ill founded.

We have used them in 2007 and 2008. Have to say both times they were good. All flights left on time and going through Sanford was a lot easier than going through MCO. Also was great we came straight back into Glasgow which made getting over the jetlag a little easier.

Disappointed they are not flying to Florida through the winter, we are now going BA this year. Hopefully next year they may resume the winter schedule to Florida.

Would rather swim.

???You cant say that then not explain. Are you sure about that:rotfl:

We have used them several times and have booked again for next year, got a great deal on one way flight.

Tartan tigger, Ive flewn with everybody and in my opinion ALL ailrines are like that, AA, ba and virgin, they are all the same, dont want to know about probs, ba were the worst. AA I had no meal, not interested. Ba cancelled connecting flight, at london for 6 hours, virgin 2 hours delay, missed another connection, not bothered.
Globespan, what you see is what you get.

One year we went with thomas cook, mum with globespan, meant to leave within 20mins of each other, ours flights were double the price,
Mums flight left on time, ours was taxiing and got a fault, 3 hours later we got to fl.

I am not sticking up for them just that they are all as good or as bad as each other in my opinion.
I cant believe any captain would fly a unsafe plane.

I would like also to say that we use them around europe a lot, they were a bit naughty for cancelling flight if not full enough and changing folks onto next or previous flight, I never had it happen to me but know of 3 diff people it happened to, they never done it to a transatlantic flight though because I phoned and asked if they ever did, I think that would be true as the guy I got on the tel seemd nice and did admit to europe flights.

Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!
To cut a long story short-Two years ago globespan cancelled our flight and failed to tell us. It took 36 hours to get through to them on the phone. Have sent 3 letters asking for explanations to their poor customer service and after 2 years I am still waiting for a reply.

Our flights with BA are cheaper than Globespan prices!

I take it it was not a transatlantic.

This sounds like the rsponse I got from ba after they cancelled our flight, drives you nuts!

I will never use globespan again

In January 2008 coming back from Sanford on takeoff our engine caught fire, full emergency with fire engines had to be ut up in a hotel for 2 nights waiting for a replacement aircraft. Replacement aircraft was a 737

When we landed in Glasgow found out we had made the news in the Daily record newspaper.

Kind of remember them featuring on watchdog, had their ETOPS safety certificate removed for a period of time pretty unprecidented amongst airlines.

I used them in August last year and I think you get what you pay for. Flight had very basic entertainment on board (projector on front wall) and quite a few headphone sockets weren't working and the cabin was very noisy in general with engine noise. But on the plus side they were cheap, the flights were pretty much on time and the food was standard airline food. My sister also flew with them at the same time and her flight was delayed about 20 hours coming home so they got an extra night in Florida :)
