Had our breakfast in the lounge, the usual fresh fruit, pastries, bagels and a huge selection of cereals and plenty of coffee and fruit juice. We got talking to a couple who asked where we were from, we always say central England rather than the name of the town. The guy asked which town saying he would know as he originated from Ireland and had married a lady from Miami where they now lived (as postal workers it turned out). He must have been there a while as there was not much hint of an Irish accent. His wife was lovely, telling me to make sure we were well covered with sun lotion, I said I had got Factor 50 on (highest I could find here) she went to her room and gave me some Factor 70, I looked like a ghost after putting it on, it was very white and took a while to soak in my skin.

As we had nipped in US the previous evening we decided to head over to IOA. I was anxious to get there because of the queues building up, I could see those well know Brazilian tour groups heading in:scared1:tried to be patient while John took some pics and videos. According to my notes we rode Spiderman, Ripsaw Falls, went in Jurassic Park Discovery centre and saw a dinosaur being hatched, the Jurassic Park River Adventure, Poseidon's Fury, went around Seuss Landing

Now both John and I like taking pictures out of the ordinary and this fits that catagory, scorpions inside lollypops!

I thought we had a photo of this part of the day but John has it on video only, the boys chose what they wanted and I had an apple on a stick covered in caramel, chocolate, nuts and marshmallows. It was enormous and made me feel sick (serves me right for being so greedy).

The first of many tee shirts Glen bought, it a Spongebob Squarepants one - he surprised me, thought he had good taste.

He wanted these for the Christmas tree as well, but I put my foot down and said definitely not

Time to make our way back to the hotel for a dip in that lovely pool, took our time calling in the basketball shop for Ashley. It was either a case of getting the boys in the pic or the top of the statue - couldn't do both!!!!

Called in at the Hard Rock cafe for lunch unfortunately when it came to paying the bill our room/charging key wouldn't work, it was fine the waitress called the hotel and they verified it would be OK, this was the first time of many that our key let us down, the hotel kept blaming mobile phones for demagnitising them but we'd left our phones in the room safe, I think it may have been our cameras but we didn't have this problem in WDW. We had the keys replaced twice in two days and would have had to have them done a 3rd time but I started using my Fairfx card after this.

We also called in to pick up our tickets for the Blue Man Group which I had ordered on line months ago. I had the confirmation print out in my bag, things were going well till I got it out and saw all the ink had ran when we got wet on Ripsaw Falls. It wasn't a problem, you could just about make out our address and I had my driving licence on me for confirmation so they printed out our tickets - phew!

Time for a swim and a dip in the hot tub, don't the boys look happy! It was a little on the warm side though, a case of going ooh, ahh, like getting in a hot bath.

Had to buy a blow up ball as we were told not to use the ball we had bought from Disney on our last visit, as someone had got hurt by one in the past and they now only allow soft balls.

We eventually made an effort to visit US for the evening, in no particular order we did Twister (John managed to miss the flying cow, he wondered what Glen and I were talking about when we came out) The Mummy (we had problems retrieving our belongings out of the locker, in case anyone wonders why you have to have your fingerprint taken and it wouldn't recognise John's finger on the scanner when we returned, I have to say a number of people were having the same problem)Jaws, sometime between all this fun we managed to squeeze in a banana split.

We had one each, we had yet to remember the size of the portions of some things!

By this time it was starting to get dark so we waited for park close and the fireworks. I hadn't done any pre holiday homework regarding US and IOA so had no idea they had fireworks. Made our weary way home and found 2 luggage tags (very nice quality) on the pillows tonight. Watched a bit of POTC2 sitting in bed with a coffee - bliss. While I was doing that John was checking and downloading his videos onto a gizmo (don't ask - keeps him out of mischief). Hey, that doesn't look like Capt. Jack on the TV, could have timed the picture better than to get the adverts in!

Wow! Ashley is certainly getting tall! He will soon be taller than Glen, I'll bet.

Those scorpion suckers look terrible. I don't remember seeing anything like that there.

Candy with bugs, gross!
I know, it was a surprise the boys didn't want to try one!
fab day, you fitted in a lot :cool1:
Looking back we did, but at the time it felt like we hadn't done much as there was so much to do in so little time.

Another great day. Can't wait to read more.

Thank you.

He is getting taller, he's shot up in the last few months, Glen already taller than me and Ashley is going the same way fast! The suckers were in a shop next to Jurassic Discovery Centre, they had had lollies in with various insects over the last few months according to the assistant.

Great day! I love US! We didn't manage to go there this year though.

I actually think those lollies are kinda cool, though my DD is would freak out if I brought one, lol.:lmao:

Looking forward to the next installment.
Looks like your having a great time.

Sounds like everyone had fun (regardless of photos that might indicate the contrary). I wouldn't worry about the large size of your banana splits--bananas are an excellent source of potassium, you know.

Me and DW had one of those scorpion lollies each in February. You can't actually taste the scorpion when you get down to it, and I would say it reminded me of eating shredded wheat without milk.
You got some really good shots from around Universal.
Looking forward to reading - and seeing - more.

Great day ~ I remember seeing those scorpion lollies, wouldn't fancy trying one, though! ;)

I think I presuaded DS not to have one of those lollies :rolleyes1

Is the lounge part of the club room booking? We did the Kitchen one day but did not see this restaurant.

Yes, the lounge is part of the club room booking, just along the landing from the rooms, it was open at the time they were serving the food but during the rest of the day when it was drinks only we had to use our room key to access the area.
