The Darling Family June Beach Club Trip:Hugging Ewoks and Finding Peter Pan

We were meeting our favorite family, the Disney’s for lunch:woohoo: The plan was to meet them at Pinocchio’s Haus. They were planning on getting there early and getting the tables that look out over It’s a Small World. We looked for them as we exited the ride and there they were. All of us (except DH) jumped up and down and waved trying to get their attention:yay:. It didn’t work, but we knew they were waiting for us. We headed over to Pinocchio Haus and happily greeted the Disney’s. We both reported great mornings and then headed off to get our food. We put all the boys at one table and the grown ups and Wendy at the other table.:cool1: It was a most enjoyable meal. After lunch we snapped a picture:

Poor Wendy. All those crazy lost boys! As we walked out the door we saw this puppetmaster. Cute:cutie:
IMG_0351.jpg

With fastpasses in hand we headed over to Peter Pan. Even the wait in line was fun for the boys. Here are Michael and LB#3
DSC00790.jpg

After our ride on Neverland we decided some pirates were necessary.:cool2: Us moms corralled the kids and sent the Men over to get Buzz fastpasses with the agreement we’d meet back up in Adventureland. As we were retrieving the strollers I came up with a great idea. You know an idea of mine must involve Photopass. Minor detail that there is no photopass photographer on the normal route from Fantasyland to Adventureland. We’d just walk a different way until we found one. And found one we did. Right in the middle of Main Street. Here are a few shots.

About this time my phone rings. DH (not Peter Pan) is on the line. They are at the entrance of Pirates. Where are we? I replied, “Main Street.” DH kindly pointed out Main Street is not on the way from Peter Pan to Pirates. I explain we were unavoidably waylaid by a bypassing Photopass photographer. That was my story and I was sticking to it.;) He didn’t believe me, but there was enough Peter Pan present that he mostly just laughed. Meanwhile we got another couple of shots.

BDF snapped this shot of Wendy while the boys were holding Tink.

So the photo shoot was over. Would we ever make it on Pirates?

Ahh....great photopass pictures!!! But how can you resist not stopping to get a picture, right? All the kids are so cute together!!!:goodvibes Love the Tink pictures!! They always turn out so adorable!!;)

Now, I'm wondering....do you make on Piratespirate:??popcorn::

What a great idea to get a picture of all the kids on Main St together! They came out great and I love Wendy's pic with Tink - her face is priceless!

You can count on the lines being huge for the fairies, but one advantage to the popularity of the fairies is that the princess line isn't bad these days at all. I think it rarely gets longer than 20 minutes or so.:)

Thats another one we need to do, only ever lined up for the princesses during MNSSHP. Really want to get a pic with Belle in her yellow dress :D

Great update, I love those PP Pics they are really cute :)

Sounds like you had a fab lunch date.

I think you will make it to Pirates in the nick of time :)

I just showed the photos of the lost boys and Wendy to my DD and she thinks Wendy is darling (pun intended) and she said she was totally empathetic to her "plight"-we were giggling at the body language in the photo-Wendy seems so mature and above their silly "boyness":lmao:

the picture of her with tink-is really cute-(you've gotten many nice photos...:goodvibes

:lmao:Been there -said that kind of thing sister...:lmao:

What GREAT Photopass pictures. Main Street is TOTALLY on the way from Peter Pan to Pirates.

It IS!

The L-O-N-G way...but who says you have to take the short route at Disney?

I definitely would have done the same thing. Those pictures are priceless. Worth a few minutes' wait on the part of your DH's.

Glad DH was "mostly" Peter Pan.

I have to say, I'm fairly sure you made it on Pirates. ;)

What a great idea! The pictures of all the kids are just great! I love the ones with Tink, both the boys holding her and Wendy holding her. I also love how you put Mickey peeking out of the corner of one of your photos because it totally looks like Wendy is looking at him.

Great pictures! I bet you are glad you made time for that. Poor Wendy, my son will be in that spot only reversed when we go in Oct.

I can never not stop to get a picture at Disney. They invented Photopass for crazy people like me:goodvibes

I think these are my favorites of all the kids together we took this trip. Though there are some good ones coming up in the next installment as well:goodvibes

Thanks for the compliements on the pictures. The lunch date was fun. In fact we everything we did with the Disney family was always fun.:thumbsup2

Wendy is darling;) Wendy was pleased to hear you thought she was mature. She definitely thinks she is plenty big to leave the nursery:rolleyes:

Sounds like you're sense of direction is similar to mine as well:goodvibes DH generally tolerates my little detours.

Wendy was a good sport about it. Hopefully your son will be too:goodvibes

Hi! I've been meaning to read your TR for a while - I kept seeing the link in your siggie in others' TRs...I've made it as far as the Ewok/Chewie meet, what wonderful pictures :thumbsup2 Isn't it a great feeling when your kids tell you that one of their dreams has come true?! :goodvibes

It may take me a while to get all caught up but I'm sure I'll manage!

We finally made it over to Pirates.
IMG_0366.jpg

The Men were waiting. The line was about 30 minutes which is a tad long, but we decided to wait it out. It’s amazing how much happier the kids are waiting in line when they have friends with them. After the fun Pirates ride we decided to head over to Tomorrowland to use the Buzz fastpasses. Guess what we saw on the way? That’s right a Photopass guy. DH rolled his eyes, but we stopped anyway.
Image580.jpg

Image584.jpg

The photog told the kids to stand in line by height and hold hands. That put Wendy between LB#1 & LB#2. She was not sure about the holding hand thing.
IMG_0370.jpg

IMG_0371.jpg

She finally agreed to touch their shoulders.:lmao:
IMG_0372.jpg

Here is the PP shot
Image585.jpg

And another one
Image587.jpg

The stop was worth it for the next Stitch shot. LB#4 is a little thespian.:cutie: (He’s the one next to Michael.) Here it is without Stitch
IMG_0375.jpg

And with the offending little monster.
Image593.jpg

We finally made it over to Buzz and we hopped in line
IMG_0376b.jpg

Everyone had a great time battling Zurg.
IMG_0377.jpg

Apparently, they had an even better hopping into jail with him.
DSC00792.jpg

Once again, poor Wendy with all of the Lost Boys. The only sane one of the bunch. Look how far away she is!

We had an early dinner scheduled and had to get a swim in before then (or else Michael would call me a liar again). So we decided it was time to head out. But on our way we saw Stitch with almost no line. John was so excited. We’d never met Stitch before and John really wanted to show him his pin collection.
DSC00794.jpg

Stitch loved the pins and he instantly recognized John as a kindred spirit.
There was some hugging and dancing.
DSC00795.jpg

DSC00796.jpg

DSC00797.jpg

Then Stitch started wiping snot or spit or something all over John. Of course all the boys thought that was hilarious.:rolleyes1
Then a few other boys joined in. Notice Wendy was absent. She wouldn’t come near Stitch after his snot wiping antics. In fact, her and DH went off looking for slushies.
DSC00800.jpg

When it was time to say goodbye Stitch let John know he had his eye on him (Focker style). Then he flicked a booger towards John as a goodbye. Of course the boys loved every minute of it.

It was time to say goodbye to the Disney family. They were planning on staying all day and watching Wishes, but SAB was calling us. We’d meet again on Day 8. So the boys and I went and found DH, Wendy and some yummy slushies and headed out of the Magic Kingdom for the last time this trip.:sad1:

As we walked by the castle I noticed John got very quiet. He whispered in my ear, “Mommy I don’t want to leave this park.” I looked down at my sweet, sensitive little boy and said, “Me either. Me either.” Then I took him by the hand and we walked away from the rest of the gang for a few minutes. DH gave me a quizzical look and I explained, “We just need to say our goodbyes.” We went over next to the railing and I snapped this picture
DSC00801.jpg

John and I talked about how this was our favorite place and how we could feel the magic. I promised him we would be back. And I reminded him that even when we weren’t here we could remember the Magical Moments and carry the Magic with us. He nodded in agreement. Then we both looked at the castle and said goodbye. We walked away holding hands to catch up with the rest of the family. Another precious moment. I hope John keeps those Peter Pan feelings always.

Next up: A yummy dinner!

Awwww, what great fairy pictures and what a super MK morning and afternoon with the Disnry family!!!

Now I'm going to ask a really stupid question and if I missed it somehow I'm sorry. What is the significance of the Donald 01-09-10? I've seen it is other peoples signatures also?

Looking forward to your evening!!

Aww what a sweet update and so cute what John said and so very true :)

The PP pics are very cool, I love them :) and the Stitch pics are great. We love Stitch, he is our fav character, so naughty. We had some really great pics from the character spot in Epcot with him. He was so hyper amd funny :)

HAHAHA I'm loving all these pics of the kids. So cute!! Love the one of Wendy standing so far away from them, lol!

The magic shots are adorable!

Aww what a sweet goodbye to the MK. Aww!!

What a great update. The kids look like they are having so much fun together. I love the end of your update. My son and I love the MK as well. It really is magical. Thanks for sharing.

It's not a stupid question at all. The Donald 01-09-10 refers to the Disney half marathon in January. If you run the half you get a Donald medal. If you do the full marathon you get a Mickey medal. And if you run both you get a Goofy medal. There are definitely more "Donald runners" you see in siggies. The Mickey and Goofy runners hang out over on the Wish boards a lot. Plus they have to spend lots more time running, maybe less time on the boards;)
And it was a fabulous MK day with the Disney Family:goodvibes

John is definitely my sensitive son. Though he enjoyed his time with Stitch as well.:rolleyes1

What a sweet goodbye. That castle is extra hard to leave, isn't it?
It is hard to say goodbye, but I know I'll be back before too long. That makes it much easier:)

The pictures of Wendy with all the boys really do crack me up:rotfl: It was a sweet MK goodbye. That is my happy place:cloud9:

What a great update. The kids look like they are having so much fun together. I love the end of your update. My son and I love the MK as well. It really is magical. Thanks for sharing.
The kids really do have a great time together! Even Wendy enjoys it, even though she sometimes pretends not to;)

We arrived back at the Beach Club in no time. (There was only one other family on the bus.) What did we do? Put our suits on and went to enjoy our last afternoon at SAB.:goodvibes We were checking out the next day and transferring to Saratoga Springs. We had a fabulous afternoon again and wistfully said goodbye to the pool. Next time we come in the summer it will be almost impossible not to stay at Beach Club. The pool and location were just fabulous! (Have I said that before?)

We headed back to the room and prepared for dinner. This was the dinner I was looking most forward to, Le Cellier. This was the only night of the trip that was available when I called at 90 days and at 5:00 it was an early dinner, but I snatched it up. We leisurely walked over to Canada and when we arrived what did I see? You probably guessed: a Photopass guy! These are the shots we got.

Image600.jpg

This is a real lovely area. It’s based on Victorian Gardens in Victoria, Canada. I’ve been to Victoria (a beautiful place) and though these gardens are smaller, they may be just as lovely. I checked in for dinner and while we were waiting for our table DH and the kids went exploring. They found a waterfall and took these pictures.

One thing DH loves is waterfalls! Leave it to him to find one at Disney World.

Our name was called and we headed into Le Cellier. The waitress greeted us and told us what was included on the Dining Plan. Shakes or smoothies for the kids as well as the adults. Awesome. We couldn’t pass that up and we all ordered. I had a yummy Mango smoothie. Everyone else got shakes. The best one was Michael’s chocolate raspberry. The kids colored while they waited for the food. And posed for pictures.
disney09034.jpg

disney09035.jpg

The bread and soup arrived and we all agreed the pretzel bread was the best. DH thought it was silly that I’d ordered the cheddar cheese soup OOP, but I told him it was legendary. After he had a bite he was very happy I’d ordered it. We asked for more pretzel bread and loved the soup and pretzel bread. Frankly, this would have been enough of a meal for me. (Along with the mango slush and dessert!) However, steak was included so we ate it. I had the filet which was quite good. (But not as good as the soup and bread). DH had the sirloin and raved about it. He said he’d forgotten how much he liked a good steak. (We don’t frequent steakhouses.) He actually ate the whole thing! Of course we all had dessert too. I had the maple crème brulee and it was fabulous! This really was a great meal.:thumbsup2 We’d definitely come back. I wish it wasn’t so difficult to get into.

It took a few minutes to get our check so DH took the kids outside while I waited. The kids had the camera and did a little photoshoot. Budding Photopass photogs!

This one cracks me up:rotfl2:

Of course at this point John was talking about his Nemo webkinz.:rolleyes1 We weren’t too far from Future World so we headed over. The plan was to just pop into the store and buy it, but the entrance to the store was blocked off with some large plants and no one was getting in. (This should have given me a clue). Oh well. We’d just ride Nemo and that would get us into the store, right. So we hopped on and luckily Nemo was found! As we exited the ride they were announcing the pavilion was closed and you couldn’t get anywhere near the store. In fact they funneled us out a different exit. Turns out they were having a special event there that evening so it was off limits. Needless to say, John wasn’t very happy, but I reassured him we would find a Nemo. I guess it goes without saying I wish we would have bought the Nemo when we saw it. So we headed over to MouseGears looking for Nemo. Did we find Nemo?

Yes we did!:yay:
disneysouvs001.jpg

Michael bought some lollipops to share with all of us. John also picked up a Stitch Pirate pin (a perfect pin because he was collecting both Stitch pin and pirate pins) and DH (or should I say Peter Pan:goodvibes) broke down and bought these little guys.
disneysouvs002.jpg

After finally finding Nemo, we had a fastpass for another Kim Possible mission and pick up was in Italy. I was excited because we hadn’t been to Italy at all this trip. We headed over to pick up the Kimmunicator and they sent us to Japan. I was a bit bummed since we’d spent quite a bit of time there a couple of evenings ago. We’d discovered the secrets to enjoying the KP missions. (Michael held the Kimmunicator and don’t do them in the heat of the day). This mission was our favorite. It had the best effects. So I ended up being glad we got Japan instead of Italy. While the kids were saving the world I snapped this picture.
disney09043.jpg

We finished our mission and headed back for our last night at the Beach Club. Wendy was hoping for another chance to watch the movie on the beach, but the weather didn’t cooperate. Instead we went to Beach Club Marketplace where I bought this memento
disneysouvs003.jpg

We went to sleep that night happily reliving the memories of our wonderful week at the Beach Club.:cloud9:

Next up: We finally make it to Animal Kingdom.

You know, sometimes I read your updates and think maybe we were on the same trip!:rotfl2: I had the very same Le Celier meal as you, down to the OOP bowl of cheese soup to split and the second helping of pretzel bread. Yummy! The maple creme brulee was one of my favorite desserts of the trip.

Aw, I wish I would have seen that ornament. I would definitely have bought it to remind us of our week at the BC.:cloud9:
