So it's been almost six months since our honeymoon cruise and I'm finally getting around to putting a TR together. This is my first TR and I am by no means as talented in reporting as some of the other DISers, but here goes!

(I hope that this report will finally help me get around to scrapbook the MANY photos we have from this cruise!)

So I guess I should introduce the happy couple.

Me (23)- Grad Student
DH (25)- AP Calculus Teacher

How this cruise came to be
It all started with a proposal at the happiest place on earth-Disneyland!

From there came lots of planning... for the wedding, for moving across the country, and for the honeymoon!!!

The wedding happened in late December
OurWedding088.jpg

and the move across the country began the day after the wedding!

We decided to wait to go on our honeymoon until February because that is when DH has a week off from work because of the school winter break. But we did want some type of honeymoon before then, so we decided on a mini-moon in Niagara Falls. (This was on the way since we were driving from California to Boston and was a perfect way to spend New Years)

Here are some pictures from our mini-moon:

What we booked
-7 night Eastern Itinerary
-REAS Package
-Vista Spa treatments
-Palo brunch, dinner, and high tea
-Excursions at each port of call
and
-Cabana Massages at Castaway Cay
-a basket from Shirley at The Perfect Gift (a surprise for my hubby!)

February 13th

So the day finally came! We headed to the airport, had a fast flight and arrived at MCO. We wanted to arrive the day before since we were traveling during the winter and did not want to miss our cruise due to the weather. Better safe that sorry!

We checked into the airport Hyatt

dropped of our bags, grabbed some dinner, and walked around and did some "window" shopping. We relaxed and tried to go to sleep early to be ready for the next day.

February 14th

We woke up, got ready, and grabbed a light breakfast. We headed down to check out of our room and wait for the DCL bus. Check in for the bus was fast and easy and since we were one of the first people there we were put on the first bus out, Captain Mickey! We sat near the front and relaxed and watched the cartoons and cruise video. Soon we approached the terminal and could see the beautiful Disney Magic!

Our bus was the first group there and we went through security very quickly, checked in (we got boarding card #2), and took our security photos. We explored the terminal and sat down to wait for the characters.

We then went outside to take some pictures of the Magic.

Soon it was time to board!!!!
Our cards were swiped, embarkation photo taken, and the welcomed aboard!

We stopped at Guest Services first to apply money to our on-board account and sign up for several tastings . (While we are not big drinkers we do enjoy the occasional cocktail and enjoy trying new things so the tastings were a great choice for us.)

We then headed over to Parrot Cay for lunch.

Yummy Pina Colada!

After lunch we went up to the Vista Spa to tour the facilities and make changes to some of the treatments we had booked online. By the time we were done it was almost 1:30 so we decided to make our way to our stateroom. We booked room 6515, a sideways category 11, for the following reasons:

-we had 6515 on the Wonder and felt the size was great for two people
-we did not plan on spending much time in the room with soooooo much to explore on the ship
-we felt our money was better spent on excursions, souvenirs, and spa treatments

REAS Champagne

We enjoyed some champagne and toasted to a MAGICal trip!

Then we changed into our swimwear and headed upstairs to enjoy the adult pool area.

Before we knew it it was time for the mandatory safety drill. We headed back down, changed, put on our vests, and made our way to deck 4.

After the drill we explored the ship some more.

We then went to dinner. (We had the Main seating) For some reason I did not take any pictures at dinner this first night . Anyway, we were seated at a 4 person table. Out table mates were very nice and we enjoyed their company through out the cruise. After dinner we went to the show All Aboard! show. We found it entertaining and looked forward to seeing many of the acts featured.

After all this we enjoyed the adult pool area some more and called it a night.

Beautiful pictures - especially your wedding photo - just gorgeous.

Great start to your trip report - can't wait to read more, and to hear which spa services you tried.

Subscribing. Can't wait for the rest!

Fun TR so far! What is a sideways category 11?

Thanks everyone! :flower3:

Cheryl726, a sideways category 11 has the same amt of square feet as the regular category 11 the lay out is just "sideways."

I took the floor plan from the DCL website and just made some changes in Paint to show the difference. We like the extra storage space that results from where the door used to be. That's where we kept our cooler. Also, not shown in the picture is that the sideways also has a steamer trunk. Hope this helps! :)

Feb. 15th

Today was a Sea Day, Golden Mickeys, and the Captain's Welcome Reception.

We woke up, got ready, and had breakfast at Lumiere's (sorry, no food pics again...guess I was too hungry to think about the camera ;)) After that we headed over to Studio Sea for the "Art of Entertaining" - The Appetizer. They were demonstrating how to make Crab Martinique. It was very yummy!

Next, we headed over to the Vista Spa to use the Rainforest Room to relax.

(This is the photo from the DCL website, as I did not take any inside the spa)

Nice and relaxed, we headed back to the room to change and get ready for the Martini Tasting. We took some porthole pictures along the way.

Great start to your TR. DFi and I are taking a honeymoon DCL cruise in a month! I'm excited. This will be our 3rd cruise.

Can you post more pics of the basket from Shirley? What was in it? I'm thinking of getting one for DFi when we are there.

TIA! :goodvibes

I love to read trip reports of people who went without kids, as I feel it gives me a look at what our December cruise will be like.

Was the quiet cove pool really crowded during the cruise?

Waiting for more!
