Hi,

DS is 4.5, do all the children this age wear costumes while in the parks?

loads do! not all.. but a huge amount.. or even just a themed t shirt etc. Ben was 4.5 when we went and he wore a costume everyday

We have only gone in December so it was too cold for a costume except at the tea party,

So, we have the costume all set for three weeks time :) We may need a second one if he won't change , he is even planning to wear it on the plane :)

Thank you, I think I might buy him one before we go so, which is most popular? He loves Buzz Lightyear.

Yes there is a mixture of either costumes or Disney clothes etc. My daughter has always dressed up in some costume or another but my son who's now 10 just wears a Disney t shirt or 'normal' clothes.

He may get hot in the Buzz outfit especially this time of year, they look quite a 'thick' costume?, just a thought. Saw quite a few boys this week in Peter Pan outfit which was just a tunic over their clothes.

Have a fab time:banana:

We saw loads of girls dressed up in the full works (even with those clippy cloppy heeled sandals!) but very few boys on our recent visit.

My son is 5 and he wore Disney T shirts every day, ones we got in Florida so nobody else had them. He got a few comments from CM's about them.

I would say... where what ever costume you want charecter interaction with. When ben worse buzz he got amazing meet with buzz... out of 30 odd children buzz went straight to ben... due to costume. When we wore peter pan... same thing!

i think for boys, buzz and peter pan most popular... but there is also stitch, pirattes, winnie the pooh etc. But if your boy is like mine, buzz/woody or peter pan are the winners!

We are going in the beginning of November and my 4 year old will want to dress up in her Snow White and Alice dresses. Is this going to be too cold or can you fit other layers in under the dress.
When going at this time of year do you just dress up for the character meals?

We have Peter Pan also, its a tunic pants and hat and shoes. its funny , we were looking at the Disney store this morning, but thought it will be too warm for some of them.

Critchk, when we we there in December, lots and lots of girls had their dresses on over their coats etc, it was so cute :)

if you look at my trip report below you will see pics of what i did with bens. we went in nov and was snowing! with buzz which is thick he wore thermals and clothes under.. so 3 layers, no coat. with peter pan we did same thing ot put it over coat too..
3 pairs of socks too.. it was cold cold cold. but didnt ruin our fun

My kids always wear ski suits so their costumes wouldn't fit!!!:lmao:

But I just won and AMAZING stitch costume on ebay for my wee fella....its padded...there is another one on sale age 5-7 as we speak.....wee problem is that the one I won is age 7-8 and Joshua is 4!!!!:lmao::lmao:..look, at the time it was only the 7-8 that was for sale so I HAD to have it, Joshua reckons he is Stitch and can quote bits from the film all day everyday....

I'm going to have to get sewing!!!!:rotfl:

Got heaps of costumes for Jade already so thats cool!!! Actually better check they still fit her!!:thumbsup2

HEHE.... if its far too huge... ben is nearly 6! so send it my way!:rotfl:

:rotfl:My daughter is praying it will fit her she's 8 but I think it will be tight cause shes quite tall!!!lol

Same seller just sold be a Bullseye costume (padded) aged 7/8.....Cost £15 though but I couldn't resist....if that fits Jade I should get Josh a Woody costume eh?:lmao:...taking hand luggge though so this padded costumes (stitch too) will be abit of a pain!!!:rotfl:

Have to agree...when my son wore a full Jack Sparrow costume two years ago (including wig and drawn on moustache and goatee) he got a great interaction with Jack Sparrow who played and messed about with him for 10 mins!!

i have to agree about kids in costumes getting noticed more. on our first trip ash didnt wear her dress to see the parade and was stretching out to the characters but was past by. i noticed they were going to all the kids dressed up so i made sure she had a dress on after that and every single time we have watched the parade at least two princesses come over to her

Kyra never had a dress up on our first few trips and always got noticed, guess we was just lucky lol.

I've not really noticed that many children dressing up and most of those I have seen are girls.

As for getting noticed, DB doesn't dress up and has had some fantastic interaction including being singled out by Wendy in the parade who remembered him from an earlier meeting in Adventureland - she even remembered his name :goodvibes

There's a really nice hairy sully costume on ebay just now. My DD has one just like it and the hairy ones are so much better quality then the smooth ones:goodvibes (hope that makes sense)
