Has anyone gone to the Mickeys not-so-scary Halloween? We will be at the fort the first week of October and are thinking of going. If you want to do the MK that day, do you need a reg. ticket, plus the extra $56 ticket for the event. I'm affraid my little one will be out cold by 8pm and hate to go for just the wife and I and push around 2 sleeping kids

If you will be in the park the whole day before the event then I say skip it. But if you make the day a pool/ relax day and then get to the park an hour or so before the event then I would say go for it!! It's great fun to see the park all decorated and the characters in the halloween costumes. Also they have trick or treat trails all over ther park it's fun for the whole family to go and get dressed up. They also have special dance parties with characters, shows, and the parade.

And don't miss the Headless Horseman - he makes a high-speed gallop along the parade route just a few minutes before the special MNSS Halloween Party Parade. It's quite an impressive sight . . . but if you're not ready you'll miss him.

Oh yeah . . . I should add that it's not Tinker Bell who flies during the Hallow-Wishes fireworks spectacular!

The party officially starts at 7pm but they will let you in the park (with a party ticket) as early as 4:00-4:30. If you go to MK earlier than that, you will need a separate admission ticket. As others have suggested, take the morning and afternoon as a day at the fort and take a late nap time. The party is awesome for kids (and adults) of all ages. I actually prefer the halloween party over the christmas party.

We are going to the Party also. When we go to the MVMCP, we take the day off and explore Ft. Wilderness, ride bikes, etc. and have an early "dinner" outside the parks so that when we enter the Party at 4 pm we don't have to waste time having dinner during the party. There's so much to see and so many shows, you will not want to miss anything. First year we made the mistake of going at 7 pm and didn't have enough time to do everything. We have APs but some in our party don't so that's why we eat outside the park. We are looking forward to MNSHP since we've never been, only the Christmas Party.

well, we recieved our tickets for the "not-so-scary" halloween party for Tuesday October 6th. Hope it was not a waste of money since we opted for this versus a day at a park. Now it's off to find costumes for the little ones.:)

tell me about it :( we missed last year. We waited for the parade but i didn't get to take a picture because it came around all of the sudden and DH didn't have the video camera ready either. :(

While your at it,, get a costume for yourselves. Almost as many parents dress up as do the young'ns. We don't have any children and we dressed up last year as pirates,, it was great ! :thumbsup2

We went to WDW '06 & 07' during this event. We did not participate, but I do know you can add the tickets when you book your vacation or you can upgrade your tickets at the gate. We was at the parks during this and the ones who added the tickets where dressed in costumes and they had a great time. I would have your child take a big nap during the day so that they are ready to go that night. Have fun!:thumbsup2

This event was a blast! My family found the Christmas Party very overwhelming.........there was soooo many things going on. The Halloween Party was more relaxed. DD and I went twice. We saw the parade 4 times. Hallowishes is AWESOME and we saw the Villians Mix n Mingle twice. And we got to meet so many characters...........
all of the villains in the show, Tarzan & Jane, Snow White and all 7 dwarves, the Princes (Philip, Charming and Snow White's prince), the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter and Mr. Walrus, Pinocchio & Gepetto, Jesse, Bullseye & Woody just to name a few!!!

Cinderella's stepsisters and stepmom.

I loved it, it was so much fun, the music, the colors everything was relaxed and fun.

We have been going almost every year for the past ten years. My DD is eight and loves it almost as much as her daddy. It is a great experience and SOOO much fun to get all dressed up. Chistmas gets more shows and is more immersive, but for some reason, I just really love seeing the guests getting into it and wearing costumes and just enjoying themselves.

The temperatures at that time can vary a lot, so plan costumes for warm or cool clothes with the outfits. I made the mistake of a full Donald suit last year and it was rather warm. I didn't care because of all the fun comments, but it wasn't real comfortable.

We did the MNSSH in 2006 and had a Great time. We were there the 2nd week of October with DD 1, DS 3, and DS 5. They had a GREAT time. The park was much less crowded than during normal hours, and were able to get through the entire park in one evening!

We are going in 2 weeks and I think we are going to do it again for our last night!!!

I do agree that if you do go to the Halloween Party, spend the day at the Fort and then go in the evening!

Have fun!!!
