We arrived at the Paris at about 8:30 and the check in line was rather long, and the gals were not looking too friendly, but I decided to give the $20 trick a try. When our turn arrived, I had our cards and ID all ready to go with a folded $20 bill inserted. I smiled pleasantly and produced the stack of credentials upon request, and indicated that we were celebrating our anniversary and were hoping for an upgrade. Waa La...a pleasant smile back and 5 minutes later a room upgrade to a premier room with a view.

Sadly, when we arrived at our fabulous room, there was already a suitcase and a laptop! Back to the reception area I went and had to talk to the manager. Again, I was super nice and joked about the imperfections of computers. I again mentioned our anniversary and how lovely the room we went into was, and how we hoped to have just as nice of a room. He worked things over and then gave me another key, telling me I would like the room. We were really wowed when we walked into our Giverny Suite! We felt like royalty and I ran and bounced on the bed in joy!

Did I mention that we had booked a free room on our rewards offer??? So yes, we got to stay in a suite for 3 nights for $20!! Double Woo Hoo!

The next morning I went to Ceasars Palace to spend the day at Qua Spa. I can only say, this is an experience not to be missed. A fabulous value at $40 per day, or free with any treatment. I had the hourglass treatment which is a customized plan. I did a facial/massage combo. Really lovely!

Friday Evening we attended Ka at the MGM on the bring a friend for $25. A really terrific show. Thanks for the tip on that special.

After the show we went to the Tropicana for the lobster special. We had an excellent server and the dinner was wonderful. What a great value!

Only negative experience: We got sucked into the GEO vacation club presentation and all the giveaways are pretty much a waste of time, and the Hooter's $100 slot play offer is a complete scam, so don't fall for that!

Sadly we are in our last 30 minutes in our suite and heading to the airport in an hour or so, but we will be back!

That's when Andrew Jackson tries to get you an upgrade.

Does that seem to work at all the hotels or just Paris? We are staying at Planet Hollywood in a standard room next week.

I would just have to say, give it a try. Worst case scenario, you are out $20. Best case scenario...well, the sky is the limit:)

I hope you have a great trip.

I also forgot to mention:
Friday night we had dinner at Le Cafe in The paris at midnight. They had some great specials and we really enjoyed it. Hubby had a breakfast special and I had Filet Mignon Oscar. Yum! It did take about 20 minutes for our table of two to be seated and a larger party had been waiting for 40 minutes. The waiter sort of had bitter grapes that he shared with us over the 70% layoff rate and lack of employees. That was pretty sad.

We also ate at the Buffet at The Paris, and while it was really good, both of us got a case of indigestion that day. Not sure if it was all the rich food or what. I have had this happen the last couple of trips and always after eating at the buffet. Thinking maybe I will skip it next time.

Hi QueenDoOver,
Congrats on the $20 trick and the great trip. Sounds like you had a wondeful anniversary. I have been to the Qua spa and it really is unbelivable. Any time I have been to a spa since I have compared it to Qua and nothing has been the same!

We are in Vegas in just over a month and it was a tough choice between Ka and LOVE. There is a boxing match at MGM on the weekend we would have gone to Ka so we decided to go with LOVE. We have been in Vegas on a fight weekend before and it is crazy.

Thanks for the information and glad you had a good time. :woohoo:

Thanks! Yes it was a wonderful trip!

We saw Love and may have enjoyed it more, but we got our tickets very last minute and had to just take what they had. Ended up as high up as you can go, and in really tight chairs, like sitting on the airplane next to a "big" guy, ya know?? Hope you have better seats than that, and I am sure you will love the show.
