Okay, so we have all seen the amount of camera junk Terry has... Well, he decided that he needed more... So, last night we sat down and got the list ready of what was needed... I am very grateful that another lens was not on there...

I told him just to order what he needed, cause we are getting down to the wire about ordering things and having them shipped... I don't like waiting until the last minute...

Here is what he got...

Tiffen 67mm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter
Tiffen 52mm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter
Compact filter case
Charger for Nikon batteries
Lowepro Lens Case 1
Lowepro Lens Case 1S

Hopefully this will be all he needs... He was thinking about another battery for the new camcorder, but ours lasted him about 5 or 6 hours at the races, so we should be fine... Worse case we can have one shipped to us at the resort... The lens cases are pretty nifty... I bought him a fancy backpack that hold all the camera gear and it has little straps on the backpack straps by his chest, and these lens cases attach right there... I told him it was for quick draw lens changes...

I try so hard not to be irritated when he buys more camera stuff, it gets expensive very fast though... I just keep telling myself, at least he not spending it all on hookers and beating me... It could be worse! I get some great pictures out of the deal...

Okay, so I ordered some Disney gift cards last week... The kids do chores around the house and they cash in their allowance for Disney gift cards... Yes, we are mean parents and make our kids earn their spending money!

So I hear the UPS truck pull up and I go out front to greet him... I see the big envelope in his hand and loudly say, "Come to Mama!" Ups guy stops dead in his tracks... This is not my normal UPS guy... Oops... Eye bulge out of his head a little... He scans the envelope and I say, "I could kiss you!" He responds by handing me the package, and saying. "I don't think my wife would like that very much..." I respond to his response with, "How do you know??? That would be one less thing that she has to do!!!" He ran to his truck and took off...

Good thing Terry's camera stuff is being sent FedEx... I am sure I will get a restraining order from UPS... again...

But we have Disney gift cards!!! The kids are up to 200 bucks each... And that is before Grammy and Papa buy them gift cards like they did last year...

I think since Terry got to order himself some camera gear I should order myself that same amount in gift cards for me...

We have a friend who works for UPS and is usually at church functions in his outfit...I mean uniform. He gets endless teasing....mostly because those shorts are so tight!

my Uncle was a UPS man for many years... he did not "fill out" the shorts, if you will... He was skinny... and I always told him he was never going to be in the "Men of UPS" calendar with those legs!!!

We are mean parents too - my boys each have a bank account and put money in there for "future stuff". They earn money doing things that are outside of their regular chores and get money from relatives on their birthdays/Christmas, etc. Good thing, as neither of them know they're going to WDW in less than two months

Okay folks... I have returned to reality... The races were amazing!! The weather was in the mid 90's, making the asphalt on the track a scorching 125 degrees... There is nothing in this world like the feeling you get watching a race car, running on nitro-methane fuel, come off the starting line and travel 1000 feet at over 300mph in under 4 seconds ... Talk about a rush!! If you have never seen a race live, there is no pictures, videos, or words that can describe it... All I can say is the motor has such power that as it passes you, it shakes the ground, the bleachers, and everything else in the close vicinity... It almost takes the breathe out of you as it passes ... It is so exhilarating, you have to experience it at least once...

Anyways, back to where I was going with this... I have had time to upload some of the photos to Flickr... Here are some of my favorites... Feel free to check out the rest of the pictures... My Flickr link is in the bottom of my signature... This event is under Travel/Sporting Events/NHRA Northwest Nationals... Let me know what you think... I am trying to work on my photographic skills, and it is hard to take pics of a car moving that fast, but I gave it a try...
