Dedicated 2 bedroom?

Hi everyone. I understand what a 2 bedroom lockoff is in theory but what is the difference with that and a dedictaed 2 bedroom? tia!:goodvibes

A dedicated 2 bedroom can only be a 2 bedroom, it cannot be split into a 1 bedroom and studio. There is only 1 entrance (no entrance in the second bedroom like a lockoff). There is also no kitchenette in the 2nd bedroom. There are 2 queen beds in the second bedroom (except some at BCV), not the 1 queen and 1 sofabed like in most studios (except OKW). It's really a matter of preference. Usually a family with children would want a dedicated so that there is not a door in the second bedroom. Groups with adults in both bedrooms may want a lockoff so the second bedroom has it's own entrance, a kitchenette and a separate balcony.

Also in the dedicated since there is no kitchenette you get another closet.

The dedicated units also only have one internet connection, not two like in a lock-off, and they only have one AC thermostat that controls all off the rooms. In the lock-off, the second bedroom has it's own thermostat.

Good point about the air conditioning, I wish it was seperate in a 2 bedroom. It is hard to get it set where each room is satisfied at night.

A separate air conditioning unit, a separate door and my own coffee maker/fridge/micro. Hmmmmm, maybe we'll go with a lockoff 2BR when we take the in-laws. And to boot we won't have to look at the mess the kids (and the big kid, BIL) makes. :cool1:

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I am going with my in-laws as well so a lock off might be a better option!

2 thoughts here.

Are the lock offs more popular than the dedicated?

What is the split of lock offs vs dedicated at most of the resorts?

We are going with relatives in Jan and I've requested lock off.
