regarding getting annual pass with DVC discount

Hey I just have a quick question regarding the discount for annual pass for DVC members I am planning on going next month and buying a pass well the DVC account is under my mom's and brother's name however I am the only one going to get the pass and neither my mom or brother is going with would I be able to get the discount since my mom or brother wont be there? or does anyone know how this works since this is the first time doing this. Thxs in advance for any information.

Have you Mom or Brother call DVC Member Services, and pre-order the AP. If you are going next month, they should probably get a will-call number rather than having a voucher mailed. Then, to be sure, I would take a photo copy of their DVC Membership card and drivers license. That way they can compare the address on their license to your license.

Last month I was able to purchase my annual pass with the DVC discount without my partner....the owner, being present. I had a copy of her membership card and her driver's license and they matched it to mine. No questions asked.

I agree. I think you're playing cast member roulette here on the answer you got. You are entitled to the discount because you live at the same address as the member. Take a photocopy of your mother's membership card and driver's license to the guest relations window. If they say no, so be it. Chances are, they'll issue you the ticket, though.

I think many of us on here have learned to take anything member services tells with a grain of salt.

This is exactly what I did for DD's visit this month and it worked like a charm. I ordered the pass through MS and made them aware it was for my DD who would be at WDW without us. DD took a copy of my membership card and my license as well as the Will Call confirmation number to Guest Services at the park and redeemed her discounted pass with no problems.

When you call Member Services, if the CM there is unaware of this policy, nicely ask to speak to their manager who will certainly know about it. Or kindly thank the CM, hang up and call again and speak with a different CM.

One other note. DD is 17 years old and was traveling with her 18 year old BFF. Since DD was underage Disney required she be accompanied by an adult to pick up the ticket. Having her 18 year old BFF with her worked just fine..

Sorry to jump in on someone's post, but I have a question about AP vouchers. Last time we bought our APs with DVC discount, we were at WDW and bought it on the spot at the ticket window. With rumors and past history indicating ticket prices may increase in August, can I call MS to order to my vouchers now at today's prices and then exchange the voucher for the actual APs when we visit WDW in November without paying the "new" price? Do the vouchers expire?

Also, will the 12 month expiration period on the actual AP tickets start from when I trade in the voucher for the tickets (November 09 - November 10) or from when I purchase the voucher (now)?

I know these questions have been posted before, so I apologize in advance and appreciate any help!

Vouchers are good for at least 1 year, and may not expire at all, I'm not sure. Yes, you can order a voucher and activate it in November and it starts the day that you exchange the voucher for the pass.
