Our Disneymoon PTR - Upd July 22 changes made...again; oh and pic of my wedding dress

Hi everyone,

I'm attempting my first ever trip report to our first ever trip to the World. Well actually it'll be my DF's first trip, I went with my best friend's family back in 1991.

Oh, I remember the drive down (took 3 days) with our walkman's (Whitney Houston's - I will Always Love you, on repeat) and were we ever lucky to just have gotten Gameboy's for Christmas. We stayed for a week over Christmas and only visited MK and Epcot before going to St. Pete's. My how times have changed.

So I kind of consider myself a somewhat first timer. So where was I.... oh yes, introductions... Here we are at my DF's prom 8 years ago today... I only found it fitting to start my PTR today(I had to find something to mark the occasion).

Here is a little background: We met in high school, but only started dating the summer after I graduated high school. I'm actually a year older, so he still had a year left, hence the prom photo.

We officially started dating on September 9th, 2000. If you haven't figured it out, on the 9th of the 9th month in 2009 it will officially be 9 years that we have been together. I thought it would be the perfect date to get married, but it's a Wednesday. So our wedding will be October 2nd followed by our Disneymoon from October 6th to the 16th.

So after reading everyone else's TR and PTR, I have noticed a trend in the put the camera out in front of you to take a picture. So I just had to try it, it took a while to get it right.

Missing the top of the head.

Someone wasn't taking this seriously.

And finally, the best I will probably do

So I'm a just turned 27 year old claims agent and he's a 25 going on 26 in July, auto mechanic. We've been living together for the past 4 years with our 2 cats. We can't wait for a wedding and Disneymoon. Actually, don't tell my DF, but I think I'm actually more excited for the honeymoon than the actual wedding. Is that bad??

I'll leave you with that tonight... next up, my ever changing possible ADR's. Does everyone change things daily, or is it just me.:confused3

Ok so I forgot to tell you guys where we are staying. We're actually doing a split stay. We'll be at POP from the 6th to the 9th and then SSR from the 9th to the 16th. We will be on the DXDP for the first 3 nights at POP and then on the DDP for the remaining 7 nights.

My DF loves buffets, so I've been struggling to try and put those at the end of our trip. My reasoning for this.... well you get appetizers with the Deluxe plan, so I'm trying to squeeze in the places where we can actually order appetizers in the first 3 days.

Here are our plans:

Arrival Day:
-Our flight arrives at 1:07pm.
-late lunch at POP foodcourt
-Head to MNSSHP
-Dinner at Tony's Town Square

Day 2:
- EPCOT Day, get there for rope drop
-lunch at le Cellier (If I can get a reservation, seems hard these days)
-Dinner at Coral Reef
-stay until illuminations

Day 3:
-Animal Kingdom day
-Tusker house safari BF for 8am, hopefully
-Yak n' Yeti lunch at 2pm
-late dinner at the Yachtsmen Steakhouse at 8:30pm
-Jellyrolls after dinner

Day 4:
- Sleep in
- Check out of POP and check in SSR
- lunch at T-Rex (oop)
- Explore DTD
- Cirque du soleil at 6pm
- Dinner at Planet Hollywood at 8:30pm

Day 5:
- Pick up our rental
-Drive to Sea World
- Leave SeaWorld at around 6pm and head to Universal for the Hollywood Horror Nights

Day 6:
- Drive to Ocala to the Don Garlits Museum for half the day
- Then Drive to Daytona for the rest of the afternoon (My DF is a car enthusiast and I had to let him have a day of this. It was a compromise for going to Disney for our honeymoon)
-Get back to Disney at around 8pm and return the rental
- Dinner at Cape May Cafe at 8:30pm

Day 7:
- Typhoon Lagoon Day
- CS for BF and lunch
- Dinner at WCC

Day 8:
- Hollywood Studios Day
- Lunch at Sci-Fi
- Dinner at 50's PTC

Day 9:
- Magic Kingdom Day
- BF at CP at 8:00am (hopefully)
- CS lunch
- Dinner at Ohana's

Day 10:
- Sleep in
- CS lunch
- Epcot to visit the WS
- Dinner at Teppan Edo

Departure day:
- Sleep in
- flight leaves at 1:55pm

So I might have to change some stuff around when the hours come out, but for now this is what I have. If anyone has any suggestions or comments, I'm all ears.

I got a PIN that everyone seems to be talking about. I was on the Disney site checking out how to make online ADR's about a week ago and was prompted to complete a survey. I did and low and behold, I got an e-mail today with free dining up until mid-December.

This would be great because it falls within our dates. But since I wanted to try a DVC resort, because we might (well me for sure... still working on the DF) want to purchase DVC, I rented points to stay at SSR. Which is great, because it's a whole lot cheaper than booking through Disney, but because of this.... I can't use the PIN.

Wish it would be transferrable so I could give it to someone. So do any of you have any tips on converting DH or DBF to want to purchase DVC. My wish is that on this first trip of his, he wall absolutely fall in love and want to buy. My back up plan is to buy and not tell him, but he might smell something fishy when we start going to Disney every year.

So far I've explained the basics of DVC to him. He seemed intrigued and was surprised that you weren't locked into a certain week like other timeshares. When I explained that we could enjoy Disney every year until we are at least 70 years old (I thought this would be such a selling point), but he didn't seem to think we would want to vacation there until we are 70. Oh well.... I secretly want to book the DVC tour while were there, maybe that'll help.

So I had told you about the PIN code I received and decided to call Disney anyways to see if I could use it.

We were staying at POP with the DXDP from the 6th to the 9th and then going to SSR from the 9th to the 16th. I thought I couldn't use it for the POP part of the vacation, but I called and I could.

So since reading from a lot of other Disers that the DXDP is way too much food, I downgraded to the Basic DDP and upgraded the resort to the Wilderness Lodge. I'm soo excited because that is where I wanted to stay, but my DF didn't want to spend that much for a place to sleep.

I'm going to try to keep this a surprise, we'll see how that goes. Also, if I do end up telling him, I have to fib and say, we'll since Disney doesn't do refunds and I had already paid in full, I had no choice but to upgrade. I don't know if he'll buy it.

So I guess I'm going to have to change some plans around since we aren't doing the DXDP anymore. Oh and I just got my MNSSHP tickets today for Oct. 6th. Our plane lands at 1pm so hopefully we'll have enough time to get to MK for the party.

Glad you could use the pin code! and congrats on your wedding. I think WL will be an excellent surprise!

So I finally finalized my ADR's and my itinerary and I'm not making any more changes. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

I'm pretty please with what I got, I had to move a few things around, but in the end got every ressie I was hoping for. So here is the final itinerary:

Tuesday Oct. 6 - Arrival day. Flight arrives at 1:05pm, hopefully we'll be checked in by 2:30pm and get settled in. Then head to MK for MNSSHP at 4pm. No ADR's made for today, we'll just eat CS so it doesn't cut into our MNSSHP time.

Wednesday Oct. 7 - Up early for RD at Epcot. Lunch at Coral reef @ 12:35pm and then Le Cellier @ 6:05pm. Hoping to get FW done right before dinner and then tour the WS after dinner since it is a EMH night.

Thursday Oct 8 - Up early for RD at AK. CS lunch and we plan on leaving the park at around 3:45pm to be back at the resort for a 5pm dinner @ Whispering Canyon Cafe (I'm hoping we have enough time @ AK, we don't do the Roller Coasters my DF has a really weak stomach). Hopefully we'll go for a swim if it's nice after dinner and then watch the Electric Water Pageant.

Friday Oct 9 - Sleep in, then check out of WL before 11am and head to SSR. Check in there, if our room is ready we'll get settled in, if not we'll head to DTD for a bit, Lunch ressies @ T-Rex @ 2pm. We might go back to the resort for a swim, depends how much time we spend at DTD, then Dinner at Ohana @ 8:25pm.

Saturday Oct 10 - We're picking up a rental car at 8am and heading to Sea World for the day. They close at 8pm so hopefully we'll have enough time to get to DTD for a 9:15pm ADR @ Planet Hollywood.

Sunday Oct 11 - Drive to Ocala to the Don Garlits car museum (Not looking forward to this, but had to make compromises). We're hoping to be back at 6pm and return the rental then head to MK for spectro at 8pm and wishes at 9pm. It's also EMH night until 2am.

Monday Oct 12 - Sleep in, hopefully do the DVC tour at around 11am. Head to Epcot once that is done and enjoy the F&W kiosks. Dinner ADR at Teppan Edo @ 5:50pm. Stay to watch illuminations.

Tuesday Oct 13 - Get up way early and head to MK for 8:05am breakfast at the Crystal Palace. It's a non EMH day, so hopefully we'll get good pictures of a nearly empty park. Tour MK all day until about 6:30pm (closes at 7 for MNSSHP), then head to the GF for 7:00 for dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

Wednesday Oct 14 - Get up early for RD at DHS. After reading many reports on these boards, we will be heading straight for TSM and we'll probably ride first then grab fastpasses after the ride (if there are some left). We have lunch ADR at Sci-Fi @ 11:40am. We'll tour the entire park until closing at 7pm, then head to the Beach Club for a 7:35 ADR @ Cape May Cafe. After dinner head to Jellyrolls for a couple of hours.

Thursday Oct 15 - Sleep in a little, but head to the Contemporary resort for 10:20am breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Then head back to SSR for a swim. We'll be going back to DHS sometime before 4pm. We have dinner ADR at 50's Prime time cafe @ 4:25pm. Hopefully we'll be done early enough to get in line for Fantasmic @ 7:30pm.

Friday Oct 16 - Departure day, sleep in a little, then pack and check out and get on ME back to the airport. Flight leave at 1:55pm.

So that's what I've got after no less than maybe 50 hours of planning. And I don't believe I'm exaggerating. Just ask my DF. I dug up a couple of old pictures from my only trip to the World. I thought it was in 1991, but it was 1992 based on the date stamp on the bottom of the pictures.

I cannot believe what I was wearing (UUUgggly). And you can tell we're from Canada and are accustomed to - 30 degree celsius type weather. I just noticed we were the only ones in shorts and if memory serves me right, I kept complaining about how hot it was.

Oh no, what am I going to do in October, I might die from heat stroke. Oh well, at least I'll be at the happiest place on earth.

Congrats on your honeymoon trip! We are going on our honeymoon the same week you are. I was going to say that we'd see you at Tony's on the 6th, but it looks like you've since made other plans. Perhaps we'll run into you at MNSSHP! Have fun!

Thanks, Congratulations yourself. I hope you have a great honeymoon.

So I've made a few changes.... again. I called to add a request to my room reservation at the WL for a king bed. Well the CM I spoke to was extremely eager for me to get a king bed. She said I'll put it on your reservation so the odds are in your favor.

Well I just got my e-mail confirmation and she put "Important Notice: King bed IMPORTANT honeymoon". I couldn't believe she put it like that. I didn't put any emphasis that I wanted a king bed, I simply stated we would like one and mentionned we were going on our honeymoon. What will the room assigners think? :confused3 I'm really debating calling back to re-word the request. Oh and while she had me on the phone she twisted my arm to upgrade to the DXDP. Ok well she didn't actually twist my arm, but almost.

So I made a few changes to ADR's as followsOct 6 - No ADR's just CS

Oct 7 - Coral Reef lunch @ 12:35pm
Le Cellier dinner @ 6:05pm

Oct 8 - Donald's Safari BF @ 8:30am
Yak n' Yeti lunch@ 2pm
Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner @ 7:50pm

Oct 9 - WCC BF @ 9:10am
Planet Hollywood lunch @ 2pm
Ohana dinner @ 8:25pm

Oct 10 - Planet Hollywood late dinner @ 9:15pm

Oct 11 - No ADR's going offsite

Oct 12 - Teppan Edo dinner @5:50pm

Oct 13 - Crystal Palace breakfast @ 8:05am
1900 Park Fare dinner @ 7:00pm

Oct 14 - Sci-Fi lunch @ 11:40am
Cape May Cafe dinner @ 7:35pm

Oct 15 - Chef Mickeys breakfast @ 10:20am
50's PTC dinner @ 4:25pm

Oct 16 - No ADR's, departure day
