Need some pixie dust :-) UPDATE - WE'RE GOING!!!

Just found a great airfare today and thinking about taking my 2 dds to Disney for a surprise trip in a few weeks. We'd like either August 16-21 or 9-14. I have waited too late to call MS and now it's drving me NUTS!!! DO I have a chance in Hades of getting a studio ANYWHERE during either of these weeks? Please say yes.......this is going to be the longest night of my life!

I think you may have a chance, especially the week of the 16th which is free dining. DVC members might be paying cash elsewhere to get the dining. I'd bet on OKW or SSR being open.

Ooh - I didn't think free dining started until the 22nd. I hope you are right. That would free up some DVC space and we don't plan to do a whole lot of table service dining. We'll go off-site for that.

Two weeks ago, I booked a 1-bdrm at SSR for Aug 3-6. You may only be able to get a studio at SSR or OKW, but who cares, you're still at WDW!

Well, I waited until got home today to call back and now there is nothing available. I am so sad and depressed. I guess I will call again tomorrow and try waitlisting. I just hate to buy airfare without a sure thing....

Oh, what a shame! You should definitely waitlist SSR... I can almost guarantee it comes through.

FWIW we put together a 6 day stay last year for Dec 19-26 (5days at BWV and one day at SSR) by using the waitlist and calling. We didn't even decide to go until the Friday after Thanksgiving. Good luck!

Thanks for all the support. I am trying to be hopeful that tomorrow will hold good things. I will probably wait list SSR and OKW. We'll move if we have to. I did not check Vero because wee hadn't planned on renting a car. I told DH we could do this fairly inexpensively . I did check HHI however and no surprise, it's a no go.

Well, wouldn't today be the last day to cancel for Aug. 16th without points going into holding? I didn't count the days, but I think it is. I would bet someone will cancel. I know I'd wait until the 9th hour just in case I could use the reservation before cancelling. Best Wishes!
