Meal questions in the Animal Kingdom

While making a rough plan for a day at the Animal Kingdom, a couple of questions came up:

1. The Rainforest Cafe has a bit of a reputation of seating people much later than their reservation time, and for being slow to serve meals after ordering.

I am thinking of making an ADR for breakfast for about an hour before the park is scheduled to open. My question is ... am I likely to be able to have breakfast finished before, or just at rope drop, if I eat at this restaurant?

2. I have noticed a few posts here on the DIS that mention making ADRs for lunch at the Tusker House, which include reserved seating for the Nemo Musical for later in the day. One poster, for example, wrote that he had a reservation for 1:00, and seating for a 3:30 Nemo show.

I am wondering if Yak and Yeti also offers such a plan for Nemo seating. You would think they would have, since they are located much closer to the theatre. Any one have Info about this?

Thanks for your thoughts.

unless things have changed since i was down last october, the rainforest cafe does not take reservations. i also don't believe they serve breakfast...

First part is incorrect. I had an ADR there in May 08 and another one set for Aug 09. I agree that I don't think they serve breakfast.

The RFC at AK does serve breakfast, but the one at DTD does not. And I don't believe ADR's are available, reservations can be made through Landry's, the parent company.

The Tonga Toast (french toast) was excellent there and there is a little known about entrance to the Park directly from the restaurant.

:woohoo::yay::woohoo:

I have ADR's and had them last year too, made right from the DISNEY DINE phone line.

I believe the reserved seating for Nemo is only available with Tusker House.

From allears: Reserve a seat for Finding Nemo - The Musical! Anyone booked for lunch at Tusker House between 1:00pm and 1:40pm will receive a ticket for reserved seating at the Finding Nemo 3:15pm show. Only reservations between 1:00pm and 1:40pm qualify. One ticker per person dining.

I have been trying to move my ADR for Tusker House to an earlier time slot on 9/27. One of the alternatives it keeps giving me is Rainforest Cafe at 8:45 am. So I would guess that at least during free dining, they are serving breakfast and taking ADR's (or they are seating people for a reallllllly early lunch). Not sure if that is true for the rest of the year though.

We had breakfast at Rainforest Cafe at AK last October. We did not have an ADR, but walked right in with no wait, but the park had just opened, so I guess the place had emptied out.

Seating later depends on many factors (which meal, party size, peak time or off, etc...)
I would have to say we have found the opposite to be true on service time. Once we order, it seems like they are in a rush to get the meal done, and turn the table over.

Rainforrest Cafe is NOT on the dining plan.

I have ADR's and had them last year too, made right from the DISNEY DINE phone line.

I don't have reservations for Rainforest, but I do have them for T-Rex in DTD for September and I also made those ressies those the disney line as well with no problems! I just made them in June...so it was just last month! Hope this helps a little!!

We love RC.....they do take ADRs at the AK location. We did that in June.
We have always been seated quickly and always served pretty fast. We eat there almost every trip.

Can't help with the rest.

The Rainforest at AK has a great breakfast, we have eaten there many times. I made my ADR for Rainforest on-line with my other ADRs.

Thanks for all the quick and informative replies. I appreciate them all.

If anyone else has a thought on these two questions, please join the thread.

We ate breakfast at the Rainforest AK last August and practically had the place to ourselves. There was no wait and our food came out quickly. It was very good too. They do take reservations, but do not take the dining plan.
