Tut-Tut, it Looks Like Rain! May '09 Trip Report. *Finished! 9/27 Pg. 69.

Yes they would have to keep those classic movies. I would be more than happy to see Alien go, that section freaks me out.

You are right that there is a point. I think what happened is that they were not having two trams go at once, we were a single tram instead of having the two trams with the two cm's at the same time if that makes sense. :confused3

Ahh... that explains it. I've heard that they only do the gangster scene when they only run one tram. Hopefully next time they'll have both trams going and you get the cowboy (or cowgirl) scene.

I love the Movie Ride. I dont think they should change a thing. :lovestruc

I have seen both the ganster and cowboy but DH has only seen the cowboy. I didnt realize they switched out, I just thought they had changed it from the previous year.

:lmao: to taking pictures in that store. I always felt like an employee was going to come yell at me when I wanted to take shopping pictures. I don't think the excuse..."But MeMom does it" would get me very far. :rotfl2:

You can tell them that. They know me.

Actually, there's a special card that allows you to photograph anything and everything in the stores that you want to.

I'll send you one, as soon as I make it up. :)

I can't recall a CM ever saying anything to me anywhere, unless maybe I have forgotten. (I'm kinda old, you know.) Usually they move to the side for me to photograph if they feel like they are in the way, even though they are normally not in the way.

LL, I was SURE I'd replied to this post.:confused3

You got some great photos in DHS. I've yet to ride the GMR. Not sure why? I guess something had to get cut.

I'm pretty sure that if we wouldn't have been there before rope drop we'd have completely missed Bo. He's a lot closer to the entrance than I'd imagined.

Can't wait to see what pins you got!

OK I am late, but I am here!!!!!!!
Settling down on the couch with my kitty and a drink to start catching up! I am starting to get that "Oh no I can't believe I don't have any trips scheduled in the foreseeable future" feeling so I am excited to live vicariously through your trip :teeth:

Believe it or not, LL, I did not head over to Ebay after all last night. However, I am still hearing the siren call of the Buy It Now so it is just a matter of time. LOL!

I spent a lot of time pondering the bathroom wallpaper.
This is a hilarious sentence! :rotfl:

A truly horrible picture of the neat-o coat rack. I loved this rack, it was very convenient. Jen and I both agreed though that the red just didn't go with the overly blue motif of the room.
551246701_8Ff9w-M.jpg

Aaaah I love it too! I want one.

I was quickly convinced that having a car at Disney World is quite wonderful.

AGREED! I totally LOVED having a car last time and now I can't imagine going without one.

So I totally looked at this picture before reading your description of it, and I thought "WOW that is a huge cup of coffee!" :rotfl: Lobster bisque is yummy too though!

Your pictures of Remy are soooo cute! I want to reach through my computer screen and hug him. I heard that he is already gone from WDW :sad1: I hope I heard wrong!!

this picture= gorgeous!
Your American Adventure pictures came out amazing too!

I can't believe you lost a pin and then found it hours later stuck in the bottom of your croc. That's crazy!

I am pretty sure that Holly recommended the Magical Star Cocktail and that is what I decided to go with. If I remember correctly it has Passion Fruit Liquor and Coconut Rum. It was freaking delicious. It also came with a glow cube, so you can't beat that.

YUM, I had one of these too, at AKL! Loved it, especially the multi-colored glowcube.
Blood sausage I do NOT love, ick. I accidentally ate some when I was in Ireland last year because I did not know what it was....I didn't realize they serve it at Rose & Crown, oh well it's authentic I guess!

And one more thing....WOOOO!!!!!!! :lmao:

Yay I love the manatee photos! That's my absolute favorite part of the Living Seas. I am intruiged to see the pictures of Kringle, the new manatee - I miss Boc but I'm sure Kringle is sweet too :goodvibes I can't believe he weighs barely a third of Lou - he doesn't look like it! I guess Boc had become well enough to be released into the wild - Lou may never be able to since his tail is so messed up :sad2: You got some really cute pictures of them eating - I love catching them when they're having a snack!

I love how each park had a balloon of their "icon".

Cute! You have an eye for detail...I totally didn't notice that!

Aw I'm sorry you got so overwhelmed this afternoon....I totally understand, getting upset at WDW is the worst because then you start to feel guilty about being unhappy in the happiest place on earth and get MORE upset (that's how it works with me anyway!). I am sure those amazing cream cheese mashed potatoes made you feel a bit better....I would love some of those right now!

I love them!!! This is such a great picture!!! I want to meet the stepsisters someday, they are so much fun.

Awww the menacing ducks about the throw their eggs! For some reason they cracked me up on my August trip. I tried to get a picture but wasn't fast enough, I'll have to steal yours :p

Let me just say...that the fairies were VERY confused on how it came to be that Jen and I were friends and we were from two different places. I would answer "Massachusetts" and Jen would answer "Florida". Well all the characters we had greeted that morning were SUPER confused about this. The first fairy, Iridessa took it in stride. Tinkerbell kept asking, "But, how did you meet?" But eventually she gave up. We kept repeating that we were friends, then we told Tink that we met on the Internet. Blank Look. Then we get to Rosetta. Oooh, Rosetta. She was a little vicious, let me tell you. Which was sad because Jen & I had decided before this trip that she was our favorite! So we were super excited to see her. It didn't last. She would not let our polite answers go, she kept asking us and asking us. She was even asking the photopass photographer why we weren't giving her the "right" answer. We finally said we met on an internet message board and that shut her up.

That is so weird! I wonder why they gave you such a hard time. What was the 'right' answer supposed to be? :confused3 Kind of reminds me when I met Alice in Epcot and she asked me where I had found a purse with her face on it and I said "ebay" and she asked me if that was in Wonderland

What a gorgeous rainbow you found in Fantasyland!! Truly magical. :cloud9:

THE COWBOY DOES EXIST!!!!! I SWEAR!!!!!

;)

I can't wait to see who you all find....................

I can't believe it is already Jen's last day on the TR........:(

I can't believe your feet were still giving you SUCH a bad time!!! Oh HOW I wish that would have been better for you sweetie!

LL, I am all caught up. It is amazing how far behind you can get when you aren't able to dis for a week. I had a whole reply typed up and it disapeared. So here is what I remember, that pretzel looks really yummy, I love the HM pictures, I also am sorry that your feet were hurting you. The pictures of the rainbow are really cool. I am looking forward to see who you see next.

Nice update for your DHS morning, looking forward to hearing about the rest of your day!!! :goodvibes

Great update! My cousin is doing one of the professional internships and lives right behind Hollywood Studios. So now whenever I read about DHS I think of her. Sorry for that random tidbit...anyways, I love all your pictures as usual. And be sure to post pictures of the pins you bought for fellow pin addicts! ;)
How cool is that!! Oh I will post pins! :thumbsup2

I haven't ridden the great movie ride in forever. I need to ride it again soon. I don't even remember which side or sides I have seen. I love pins and so do my kids. That is not a good thing when you don't have a lot of money.
No, pin buying is an expensive habit. I love getting traders off of ebay, so much cheaper that way.

Ahh... that explains it. I've heard that they only do the gangster scene when they only run one tram. Hopefully next time they'll have both trams going and you get the cowboy (or cowgirl) scene.
I must have never been when they were operating one tram then, I didn't even know they did that.

I love the Movie Ride. I dont think they should change a thing. :lovestruc

I have seen both the ganster and cowboy but DH has only seen the cowboy. I didnt realize they switched out, I just thought they had changed it from the previous year.
Hehehe, that is funny!

You must make time for GMR! It's wonderful.

Bo is very close to the entrance!

Phew! You really caught up! I'm really contemplating driving down the next time Marc & I go together. I really liked having a car, gave you so much more freedom and time. :thumbsup2

I don't know what the fairies problem was! It was a little annoying. It was like drop it already! Geez.

The pretzel was delish! SO DELISH!

Nice update for your DHS morning, looking forward to hearing about the rest of your day!!! :goodvibes
It was a great morning at DHS!

Sounds good to me! :goodvibes

Could you please get a picture of their faces while you tell them that? :rotfl2:

Thanks for joining in!! The fairies really were one of those whatever moments!

Oh, I am glad our trip is encouraging to you! I am sure you will have an excellent trip next year with Maroo! :goodvibes

Hi LL, I am back! It was a quick and wonderful trip! My son thought that Tink was a little rude...LOL! Coronado was great and the parks were not too crowded, not like I was expecting...

Monday May 25th. Day 4, Part 2.

We made our way into the Animation building...I don't know the technical term. We had a date with...MICKEY!

If you can believe, I have never had my picture taken with him and this was my SIXTH trip. Mom claims that I did meet him when I was 5 but we can't find proof of it. I don't trust her memory as she is the one who buys the same book twice to read. No joke. It worries me.

Mickey was out and we also saw the characters from Up! We decided to get into Mickey's line first since he was the MUST DO.

It was a pretty short line and before we knew it we were saying hello to the Mickster.

583547505_azgio-M-2.jpg

Mission accomplished.

We went over to hop into the Up line and waited a bit before the CM came out to say one of them was leaving but one would be staying. I was iffy, I figured I would be back so we decided to move on. We took some pictures of them though.

556114549_xSqgv-M.jpg

How cute are they? I still haven't gone to see this. I need too. He really reminds me of my grandpa, especially with those tennis balls on his cane. Hehe!

I also took a few pictures of the stills they had around.

We decided to see what character we were most like...

Jen was like...

BOO! Just because you like to eat people for lunch....

We started to head out, there were no other characters out. They had a bunch of artwork from Snow White out. I think they are gearing up for the Snow White DVD release in November. I am really hoping they do a special greeting area for Snow White like they did with Pinocchio and I hope they do it while I am there.

556115602_2tL7k-M.jpg

We headed out towards Hollywood Brown Derby as it was getting close to our ADR time. Jen wanted to go check out the Villain shop, I decided to sit on one of the benches outside Brown Derby to rest my feet. I took pictures while I waited.

556115780_XAkCi-M.jpg

Soon enough Jen was back and we went inside to see if we could check in yet. We were able to check in but it wasn't quite time for Brown Derby to open.

I went and spotted the book of signatures of those famous people who have eaten at Brown Derby. I squealed when I saw who it was and started to babble so fast that Jen couldn't understand me.

556118103_qep62-M.jpg

JULIE ANDREWS! It was like the Brown Derby KNEW I was coming for lunch!

I was in heaven, my beloved Brown Derby, Julie Andrews and Jen. Ahhhh.

Pretty soon the Brown Derby staff assembled and they let a little girl celebrating her 4th Birthday open up the dining room. It's so nice that Disney does these little touches. The little girl looked so happy being singled out and fussed over.

Shortly afterwards we were escorted to the dining room to a booth! This was the high life. I think this was the meal I had been most looking forward to and it did not disappoint.

556119399_EP99F-M.jpg

I'm a little upset that we didn't think to get a picture of the both of us in the booth!

We both ordered root beer and started noshing on those delicious Brown Derby rolls.

We both started with the Sweet Zellwood Corn Chowder- with applewood smoked bacon and ancho chili oil. Jen asked how spicy the ancho chili oil was and the waitress said it was pretty spicy, we both asked of it left off. It was delicious! Superb! If I didn't want to try all of the Brown Derby appetizers, I would be ordering this again in September.

583553585_mbjcd-M.jpg

It is so hard to get pictures in there, you feel like you are in a classy place and the last thing you want is your camera flash going off!

For our entree we both ordered the Famous Cobb Salad of course. Even better then I remembered. Sigh.

556119660_aby4Q-M.jpg

The only thing we differed from at this meal was dessert. Jen of course continued her creme brulee love affair. She loved it, but she doesn't have a favorite. They are all amazing and make her happy.

556120732_LyhGN-M.jpg

I decided to go with Grand Marnier Strawberry Cheesecake.

556120520_DuBNz-M.jpg

Oh. My. It was seriously good. I have to say that it has become my favorite Disney Dessert. I can't wait to enjoy this again in September. I can't tell you how rich the cheesecake was and how delicious the strawberries were. Yummmmmmm.

Truly, a delightful meal at Brown Derby. It was a little bittersweet though, I was sad that Jen would be leaving soon. We had such a great a time together despite the rain and feet problems. I have found a friend for life in her and the fact that our love of Disney brought us together make Disney even more special in my eyes.

As our meal was coming to an end, I went to the restroom. It was the scariest trip to the restroom I have ever had. I was witness to the most HORRIFIC parenting skills EVER. It was horrible. I don't want to go into too many details nor do I want to criticize parenting skills but when you threaten violence to your sobbing children and are pushing them against bathrooms stalls. It was truly awful and I was cowering in my stall. Not such a Disney moment.

I shook off the bad vibes and met back up with Jen in the lobby. She decided that she did want to stay until our TSM fastpasses were due. She had been waffling between going to see the Muppets or riding The Great Movie Ride again. I told her to decide because I was planning on staying in the park after she left so I could hit up what I wanted later.

She picked The Great Movie Ride with the logic that she would be back in September and could meet up with the Muppets then. I like that logic!

We waited in a fairly short line...maybe 10 or 15 minutes. We even saw our CM from earlier at the door ushering people inside the building. Before we knew it, we were loading up on our tram. The first tram...and there was a second tram behind us. YEP! We had the cowboy scene. It was the right decision! Jen finally knew that the cowboy did exist and wasn't a Disney myth! We didn't take any pictures this time around...we just enjoyed the show.

After GMR, it was time for TSM. We made a quick pit stop over to the Voyage of the Little Mermaid so I could grab a fastpass for later and headed to TSM.

583498344_p6tEn-M.jpg

We had a fabulous ride on Toy Story Mania. I giggle like a little kid on that ride, so much fun.

583562650_JzDZa-M.jpg

Jen beat me, but I am happy to report that last time I received a bunny as a prize and I know the beaver is a higher score so YAY for improvement!

After our great ride, it was time for Jen to leave. We said our goodbyes and I watched her walk from Pixar Place. :sad2: It was hard saying goodbye, who knew when we would see each other again!

Now that I was alone...what would I do?

Geez, I mean, you just like people for lunch what's the harm in that?! :)

Your lunch looks delish and I want Disney food ASAP!

I hate to comment on parenting choices because believe me I've been pushed to the edge, but when it becomes physical it's too much for me. Sorry you had to witness that.

So sad to see Jen go, but excited to hear about your solo time.

That salad looks great. I hope someday my kids can behave and we can dine at The Brown Derby. Sorry about the poor parenting... it does make you feel uncomfortable.

If you can believe, I have never had my picture taken with him and this was my SIXTH trip. Mom claims that I did meet him when I was 5 but we can't find proof of it. I don't trust her memory as she is the one who buys the same book twice to read. No joke. It worries me.

Yeay! You got to meet Mickey! :yay:

BOO! Just because you like to eat people for lunch....

Okay, I laughed out loud when I saw this! You are not a Lady Tremaine! :lmao:

556118103_qep62-M.jpg

JULIE ANDREWS! It was like the Brown Derby KNEW I was coming for lunch!

Awww, how perfect! Lucky duck! I didn't even recognize the signatures the day we went.

Yummmmmmm.

Oh my. I have a serious hankering for Brown Derby now. I wonder if they would think me odd if I ordered all of the desserts for my meal?

As our meal was coming to an end, I went to the restroom. It was the scariest trip to the restroom I have ever had. I was witness to the most HORRIFIC parenting skills EVER. It was horrible. I don't want to go into too many details nor do I want to criticize parenting skills but when you threaten violence to your sobbing children and are pushing them against bathrooms stalls. We didn't take any pictures this time around...we just enjoyed the show.

And here we all were falling all over ourselves trying to convince Jen that the cowboy wasn't a myth -- and she knew all along.

So sad that Jen had to leave! :(

That is so cool the Up characters were out when you were at the Animation Building! I definitely want to meet them. As for the movie, we finally saw it...it's really cute.

I can't believe that you had never had your pic taken with Mickey!! :thumbsup2 And I actually laughed outloud about the comment you made about your Mom swearing you had when you were 5...too funny!!!:lmao:

Your lunch at Brown Derby looks delish!!! It's almost 11 p.m and now I'm starved...thanks, LL!! LOL!! That poor child in the restroom...no one deserves that and my kids have truly tested my patience from time to time....how sad!!!:guilty: Love the light fixture that looks like a derby, how cool!!!!

I can't believe this is it for Jen's portion of the trip but I'm excited to 'meet' your Mom and hear that portion of your trip, too!!!!:goodvibes
