Miles for June:118
Time for June:12.09

Sorry its so low team, but I've been spending more time in the gym weight lifting as I need to get ready for those hills!!!!

Hi Buzz Team. :) Here are my June totals:

179.35 miles
26 hours 58 min

How is everyone? It is quiet around here. What events does everyone have coming up? I ran in an extreme heat half marathon last weekend. This race was recently featured in Runners World Magazine. I wrote up a bit on my race experience in my running blog. Here is the link if anyone is interested. A little bit down from that entry, is a little bit on the Trek Duathlon I did at Disneyland a few weeks ago as well.

I hope everyone has a Happy 4th weekend!

Yea, it has been pretty slow. I don't have anything to train for right now so I'm doing more cross training and less running than I would when in training. There are a few small 5ks but I'm not getting up at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday to run 3 miles :) Needs to be at least a 10k to get me up.

What I need to do is get out on the bike as I might ride once a month at the most. It just takes so much longer to get the same workout as running.

This month:
Running: 57 miles 417 minutes
Bike:5 miles 28 minutes
Cross Train: 495 minutes

Casey, not sure how you did the 112 degree. You are Iron Woman! I am going to miss the Vegas marathon by 1 day. I am flying back out of Vegas on Saturday, Dec 5. We have to be there the Friday before and I just can't stay any longer than Sat morning. I tried to get them to change the wedding date. Hey, what is more important, the Vegas marathon or a wedding? :confused3 Next year!

enjoy everyone!
Duane

Hi Buzzies!

I have a lot of fun events coming up. In August it's the Inaugural RnR Chicago half (practically in my own backyard), in Sept I am going to DL to get the c2c medal, in October DH and I are doing a DesMoines IA half, in Nov we are doing the Manchester NH half, and in Dec the inaugural RnR Vegas followed by the Kiawah Island SC half. All leading up to going Goofy in January. Instead of struggling to get in those long training distances I am doing halfs and crossing some new states off my list. A win-win situation!

Hey Buzzies,
Hope all is well. Been checking in on the boards but really had nothing exciting to post (No news is good news:thumbsup2). Had some really good runs this month though. Low temps have been in the 60's lately which is unusual for SC in the summer. You know Duane. That 112 degree weather Casey runs in is a DRY heat:rotfl:. Not like Florida and SC. (Just kidding Casey. I would log on to this board if nothing else to read what kind of mileage you and Kirstie~Louise have put up. And Pat, I get tired just reading your list.)

Anyhow here's June #'s
Miles 36.9
Time 487 minutes (8:07)

Oh yeah, and Chris thanks again for keeping up with us. I know it gets kinda aggravating sometime:bitelip:

:woohoo: The Buzzies are alive.

I'm still waiting to hear how much my chair is going ot cost to be fixed :sad2: and I still have my neck brace on.....when I take it off my head flops to the right and stays there!!!! But I do have the strapping off my arm, so there is some good news.

I just wish I could go and lift weights, at least that way I would still be getting a work out.

If all gets fixed in time, I have Marine Corps, Space coast and the Palm beach before the Dopey, if I still haven't got my Boston qualifier by then I will be gonig crazy trying to find races to enter!!!!!

Casey I jst read your blog about the devil run........your nuts (in the nicest way), the thing is I would LOVE to do that race to :lmao:!!!!!!! I guess thats why I'm syko!

June miles: 60
Minutes: 780

No news is good news, I guess. No injuries, no excitement, just plugging along walking and running!

Sorry I'm late this month. But I have some good numbers to report!

Miles: 196.89
Minutes: 1193

It's been a busy month for me:
- local 5k
- Trek Women's Duathlon at Disneyland
- RnR Seattle 1/2

Plus a 10k on July 1. If you're interested, there are some photos of me on the race organizer's Facebook page, starting here.

I'm starting to think I need mental help. Or I need to cut up my credit card. In just one short year, I've gotten completly addicted to collecting more and more shiny medals. (Maybe it stems back to when I was a kid and the only awards I ever won were for being a math geek.) Currently I'm entertaining the idea of adding another RnR race to my schedule for 2009, just so I can earn their special "Rock Star" medal for doing 5 RnR races in one year. Or I'm considering going back to do the Expedition Everest Challenge again. It's such a fun and unique event, plus I'm thinking about making it the one race that I can say I've done every year from the start. If only I didn't live so far away!

Looking strong at the finish Lisa.:thumbsup2

Vent ahead.......

I am SO fed up......no one has given me a quote to get "cranks" fixed yet
One has even said they can't tell me what it will cost untill its made :scared1:

As for trying to sort out new wheels, why is it so hard????? all I want is a set of racers on a MTB hub with a disk break!!!!!
Looks like the hub is also going to be a custom job from phil wood and will take 4 weeks!!!!

I need to know how much the repairs are going to cost to see if I can afford to get it done in time for MCM!!!

On a good note my neck is getting better, most of the time I have it out of the brace now, and I'm even thinking about trying to lift some weights on sun / mon.

Hello Buzzies! Yep, its me the miles and times keeper.

Getting ready to put together the totals for all the teams for June. I guess Chris if you can put the totals together and put on the first post, I will come back later and "collect" them for June.

Thanks everyone!!

Tracy

The Camelbak is what saved me! I was just reading in the LV marathon thread that you won't be able to make it. That's too bad! Maybe you can come back out for the March Red Rock Marathon/Half?

Casey I jst read your blog about the devil run........your nuts (in the nicest way), the thing is I would LOVE to do that race to :lmao:!!!!!!! I guess thats why I'm syko!

You are funny! Lately my running motto has been, the crazier the race, the better. Come out and do it next summer!

I am sorry to hear about your neck injury and hassles with getting your quote/repairs for your chair. What an overall frustrating situation. I can't believe they are saying they can't give you a quote until it's finished. Any new word on this?

Buzzies: I hope everyones summer training is going well and you're all staying cool! Next up for me is the ET Full Moon Midnight 1/2 Marathon near Area 51 on Aug 9th. It'll be my first midnight race. I am all giddy over running in this race.

Casey I have emailed and asked if they would let a crank enter, I'm waiting to hear back.

My neck is a lot better thanks, I have still not lifted weights, hopefully tonight or tomorrow!!

DH call one of the 5 company's yesterday and they said that they would call back on mon or tues with the pice and parts ready to ship.

Three of the others have now told me.....one $120, the other....$2100 :scared1: and the last one...$450.

I still have one saying that they can not tell me the price until the part is made, but they did say that they would call me back and try to give me a rough idea.....still waiting for the call.

Now the problem is going to be trying to work out how to $$$$$.

PLEASE... I need the team's totals for June Mile and Minutes. I am ready to post all the teams numbers, but I need the Buzzies!!

Thanks so much!!

Tracy
