Day 11
Sunday 24th May 2009 Animal Kingdom
Cast
Me (Nicky)-34 -The sensible one lol Magic Kingdom fan, love the water rides, doesnt like the simulation rides.
Matt-37 Major Star Wars fan-loves DHS, likes simulation rides.
Luke-9 huge Star wars fan-Loves DHS and water rides
All got up around 7.15 am and had the usual breakfast at the Contempo Café.
We caught the bus to Animal Kingdom, today was a very hot day.
We were hoping it would stay that way as we wanted to go to DHS for Fantasmic later.
Started off by having a quick look around and then headed to Dinosaur land. We went on the Dinosaur ride, typically it broke down on us for a few minutes. We thought it was just ok, just very bumpy.
We then went on primeval whirl; the cast members let us do it twice. Next was the Nemo Musical, we all thought it was very good.
Next up was Expedition Everest, when I read about it I wasnt too sure I wanted to do it. One of the things I was worried about was that Luke wasnt able to do it as although there were two people side by side they were separated. Which meant whoever sat next to Luke couldnt hold onto him properly. I knew there was a test vehicle so we went looking for that, I think it hidden so we asked a cast member to direct us. We spent 5-10 mins deciding before finally thinking lets give it a go.
I dont know what I was worried about, it was a lot tamer than I was expecting. Dont get me wrong I loved it, but I thought it was a bit tame.
We then all went on Kali River rapids. Only Matt got wet, Luke found it very funny.
It was really hot now and we stopped for lunch. My bag broke while on holiday so matt carried around the cash; which meant he got most Lunches and Dinners. He never has much luck because he was gone ages and there were only a few people in the queue ahead of him. We had Yak & Yeti counter service; the food was very yummy and tasty.
After Lunch we did Kilimanjaro safari before finding a spot for the parade. I went to get an ice cream but my luck wasnt in. I queued for about 10mins and it didnt move. With loads in front of me I gave up.
We enjoyed the parade and decided to watch the Lion King show after. I thought the show was really good. We had planned to go and see some characters after the show, but as it was getting late thought wed better head back to the hotel for our Chef Mickeys ADR seeing as wed missed it the other night. Just as well really because when we left the theatre is started to rain heavily. We had a quick look in the shops before heading to the bus; we were soaked by the time we reached the bus stop even with our raincoats on.
After showering and changing we headed to Chef Mickeys for our ADR
I thought i took some pictures of the food but cant find any except for a couple of Puddings.
We all had a great meal, were there over an hour (did say we were slow)
I did feel like the server was trying to get rid of us fairly quickly but we took our time.
The food was nice and had a great selection, though as with most buffets it was warm. I thought after i should have gone to the Contempo to use the Microwave
Well seeing as it was still raining and a little bit of lightening. We decided that seeing as we were dry we didnt want to get wet again. So that meant no Fantasmic tonight, and probably no Fantasmic for this holiday. Its a shame but its not like we havent seen it before and im sure we'll see it again.
So i guess there was only one place we were going..............
