Hi

I booked CRT for Breakfast last week and it has been charged in full to my CC. As I am in the UK the only price that has come up is a price that is in pounds and I don't recall how much the cast memeber of the phone said it would be in dollars.

The cost has come out at a higher value than I expected, have they also factored tax and gratuity into what they have charged me?

If they have, how does this work if you have Tables in Wonderland or are on the dining plan?

Thanks for any help on this.

Cheers
David

Yes, tax and gratuity are included in the charge.

Never had dining plan but on TiW, you show the card when you go and they gave us a gift card with the refund on it.

Thanks for letting me know, we will have TiW, it's a bit cheeky really, as they don't explain this on the phone. Then they give a gift card so you have to spend it at Disney!!!! Also this must make it difficult for servers to get better tips, it's an expensive meal and if you've already pre-paid why would you leave any more!

We were charged in full ahead of time fo CT & we have the TiW card. During our meal, I gave the card to our waiter & we were given a gift card with our refund on it. No hassle at all.

already signed up for the dining plan, the CM is supposed to take a CC# but not charge it unless you do not show. That did not always happen though under the old system. I have no idea if they have put in prompts for the CM to follow with the new system.

In regards to the other charges, the CM is supposed to explain that tax and gratuity are included. Additionally, CRT is part of the high demand surcharge program at Disney.

Don't get me wrong, we spend plenty of money at WDW so a guft card is not a problem, I just think its a bit cheeky that you don't get a cash refund.

Is gratuity charged at 18%?

So total for 4 adults would be $175.89?

David

If you are on the dining plan then they shouldn't charge you but need a CC to reserve it.

gratuity rate is 18%. I believe a small amount ($6.50 comes to mind) is excluded from gratuity to cover the picture package.

In the past, the exclusion was $9. This was when they had just begun the picture package. But that was about three years ago, the last time I ate at CRT.

I guess the next visit it will be time to go back to the castle again.

TiW now adds 18% at all sit down places.
We always just leave a couple dollars more in cash.

Gift cards are very easy to use  Plenty of places to spend those.
