Booked the wrong size party for Garden Grill just now. Don't know what I was thinking....maybe it was the two kids running circles around me at the time. When he went back to change it, the extra two seats where TAKEN:sad2:
He said that I could try just showing up and they will most likely accomadate us! Any experience with this?? It is for our only day at WDW June 20th at 6:30

Some of the seating there are booths with round tables with one semi-circular bench. If you're already booked at two of those (one surely does not seat seven) the rest of your party could scoot over to make enough room for an extra person. Other tables on the upper level are normal tables with individual chairs, often used for larger parties, which may be what you have reserved.

The dining res CM cannot see what type of table you will be at, but with the seating available you might be OK. Arrive a little earlier than you normally would to the check in poduim and ask to be seated for 9.

Have you ever gottn to the point after trying to please evryone that you just say what the heck, cancelling evrything!!!:badpc: I feel like saying ok, here's your ticket you're on your own!! I am getting stressed and tired of making all the decisions myself!!!
(sorry, venting!)

1) It is going to be risky.
2) There is a big difference in 7 vs 9.
3) Seven can sit at an eight table.
4) Nine cannot.
5) You should keep calling.
6) Awfully embarrassing to have a person told there is no room for them.

at garden grill the big booths seat up to 12. So I think you'll be fine. Normally they put a party of 6-8 and a party of 2 (they can be seperated) at one. I'd keep calling, but if you show up a new extra minutes early you shouldn't have a problem.

I had this problem last year- when I made the ADR we had 8 plus a baby. When I made them, I was told I didn't have to include the baby in the number.
Then come to find out, we were suppose to. Well, that seemed to be a huge problem adding the baby to any of the ressies. I was in near tears when she said, we would most likely be turned away when we checked in. OMG, I was mad!
I called back and talked to another CM who said, let's not worry about that OK? He said show up and when you check in just say 9 - if they say something about 8 ... say, no sorry 9.
He said don't stress over it - you won't be turned away. Alright, I'm trusting you. :thumbsup2
NEVER a problem for me. No one even frowned at it... when I said, sorry 9.
But that could be a totally different situation compared to yours.

1) IF they are not already booked by others.
2) Just because there are tables, it does not mean they are available.
3) In these times, larger tables go quickly.

I would keep checking between now and the 20th to see if anything opens up. If not, just show up with all 9 people, and chances are they will find a table for you.

We had an adr for 8 at the California Grill. About an hour before we were supposed to leave for the restaurant, my parents decided to tag along. When we showed up with 10 they were able to accomodate us fairly quickly.
