Is it just me? I'm looking over the menu for this san angel inn and I see no mention of fajitas, burritos, or tacos. I don't want to seem the ugly-american who thinks that Taco Bell is authentic mexican food, but shouldn't I see these types of foods on the menu? My wife and I could care less, we enjoy mexican food, but we will have our four kids along and I can just hear them complaining about 'nothing to eat'.

My mom side of the family are all from Mexico. My mother, grandmother, grandfather and all of my aunts were born in Mexico City and none of them had ever heard of a Burrito until they came to the US. Burritos were invented in Texas I believe. They do have Fajitas and Tacos in Mexico city but there are so many more dishes. I think San Angel is just trying to give you a taste of some more authentic dishes.

San Angel does not serve American TexMex, it serves more authentic Mexican. Most Americans have no idea what that really is. (Just like all Chinese people eat Sweet & Sour Chicken and have Fortune Cookies afterwards!) Tex-Mex food is quite different from real Mexican. Hence why I think a lot of people don't like San Angel - they expect spicy burritos and such and find something completely different instead. My father lived in central Mexico for a decade before I was born so we would only go to more authentic places when I was growing up and so I am used to that type of Mexican food (and don't like Tex-Mex!) so I enjoy San Angel Inn. If other people don't want to go it just leaves more room for me. :)

Mmmm. We love San Angel Inn everytime we go. While we have no Mexican heritage, we love the authentic feel to it. If we wanted a burrito or taco, we'd go to a place around home. And the ambiance is great!!

My sentiments exactly! My (grown) children always order chicken quesadillas from the children's menu (or just cheese quesadillas, which aren't even on the menu). We just love the ambiance and wouldn't plan a trip without eating at San Angel!

Sometimes my husband and I drive to Orlando to spend the night at WDW just to eat at San Angel Inn! It is hands down our favorite restaurant and I really do not understand the people that put it down. But like the other poster said, more room for us! Maybe your kids will find something they like, and open their pallets a bit wider. Good luck!
